| 50+? Here's your thread....
Posted: 4/21/2009 4:43:18 PM | Hi y'all . First of all , I don't want to exclude anyone. If you're in your 30's, 40 's ,and don't mind socializing with people 50 -60+, please feel welcome.
Let's kick it around here.
Where do you go evening or weekends ,where you might meet someone in our age group?
Restaurants? night school? dancing lessons?
Every once in a while ,I'll go over Westgate for a drink. Only older people I see are couples. All the lovely young ladies are in their 20's. Not much point in striking up a conversation there.
Suggestions? Move to The Villages in central Florida? Move to Sun City or one of the newer 55+ communities?
I don't mind the 55, It's the "plus" that worries me . One thing I don't want to do, is spend my weekends playing shuffleboard or watching Murder She Wrote re-runs.

If you go to meet up dot com, there are many, many groups that may appeal to you and provide interesting connections.
Find a place/activity and organize a POF group thing. Gawd knows we need more here in the PHX area.
I spoke with a fellow at one and he mentioned a place at Westgate for an activity......I'll email him........see what's up.

Actually , I've been thinking about promoting something, now that I'm caught up with my real (read..profit making) events. Westgate is not a bad idea. Let me know what you find out, and I'll do the same.

I've emailed the fellow who mentioned the Westgate venue. He is out of state for the moment, but if he gives me the name to contact, I will be happy to arrange things. If he doesn't, I'll trot my happy azz down there and find someone!

I just wrote in a forum about the difficulty of enjoying clubs like MYST and yet the average age is 21 there .. but the music rawks!!!
So.. shall we gtg and do something.. while I dont watch murder she wrote, I must say Im getting very tired of Law and Order that seems to run in various versions all the time on Cox cable.
Oh and any 50+ golfers out there.. perhaps I should say any 50+ duffers??
anyway, Im game to help get something started
