| Got a minute? Can you review my profile? Posted: 4/29/2009 11:03:09 PM | Hey everyone,
I just wanted to see what you all thought of my profile and if you had any tips for me to get more bites so to speak. I get a few hits here and there, but I guess I need advice on how to get more. Any input you could provide is much appreciated.
Thanks! | |

| Got a minute? Can you review my profile? Posted: 4/29/2009 11:33:23 PM | Great photos, cute headline. There are, however, a bunch of things that need to either be reworded or deleted: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey! I'm 19, Filipino, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 160 pounds, and have a medium build.most of this info is duplicated in your introduction. You could say your background is Filipino and like to keep in shape by...... I'm by no means jacked or anything, but I'm not like fat either. the last half of the sentence is really negative, delete or reword Right now, I go to school full time as a cadet at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, but I'm originally from California, so I bounce between New York and California pretty often. Before you ask: yes, I am in the Army and no, I don't kill babies. Let's leave it at that ok lol? let's delete everything from"Before" to the end of the paragraph, ok?
In my spare time, I like to sleep, play video games, go to the movies, go on random acts of debauchery,oh yes, drunken orgies are sooo much fun Find another work for 'debauchery'. and you know the normal stuff guys like to do.burp and scratch?[ I also took a photography class in high school, so I like taking photos of stuff too when I get a chance, though I must admit, I'm not very good. Me and art pretty much don't mix, but I do like looking at artistic stuff, I just can't do it myself lol.although it would give you an excellent excuse to look at girls thru the lenses if you invited your viewer to go take pictures with you..... Hiking is pretty fun too, so if you ever need a buddy to go backpacking with you, I'm down! Oh and water polo! So I suck at water polo, but I LOVE the sport-- if you do too, we would get along splendidly.
Music wise, I'll really listen to anything that sounds good. I also noticed that I listen to different things depending on where I am-- for example, if I'm working out, I usually listen to rock and hip hop, when I'm in the car, it's usually pop, and when I'm doing homework, I usually listen to my "The Beatles" and "Chill Out Time" stations on Pandora. stop here! With that said, here are the Pandora stations I listen to:
"Lupe Fiasco Radio" "The Beatles Radio" "Chill Out Time Radio" "Jason Mraz Radio" "Save Ferris Radio" "All-American Rejects Radio" "Gym Class Heroes Radio" delete the list. If anything interested you, or you want to know more about me, do send me a message or IM me on AIM: spectrez589 don't beg - and the IM here doesn't work - and it's against "The Rules" to post an email or chat address.
Here is where you should be describing the fabulous girl you are hoping to meet here. Describe her using only positive language.
Take care!
PS I'm NOT a robot or fake! I'm a living, breathing, human being d*mn it! So since you made it this far, you might as well just take a chance and contact me--too much drama. Still sounds like begging. You can do better. c'mon, what do you have to lose? =] I like a cheeky challenge. This works.

| Got a minute? Can you review my profile? Posted: 5/2/2009 3:54:12 PM | So I don't have to start a new thread and clog the forums more, I'll post my question here-- imeem. What gives? Do people like the imeem player being there? Do people actually listen to the song posted or do most people just skip over it entirely?
Thoughts? | |

| Got a minute? Can you review my profile? Posted: 5/2/2009 4:19:29 PM | I don't know why they ever started that music thing anyway. Who has the time to go into that field and click on the songs and listen to them? Besides, they've probably heard most of the songs before anyway. There is so much more to a person than their favorite songs and you can't tell what a person is really like just by the songs they like. Most people aren't on POF to listen to songs, they're here to read the profiles and hook up with someone. I've seen people with a huge playlist but with a profile 3 sentences long. Too bad people don't put as much effort into their profile as they do into the songs. Just my 2 cents. XV | |

| Got a minute? Can you review my profile? Posted: 5/2/2009 11:56:38 PM | I agree on wondering why they included the song feature on one's profile, but I think music can say a lot about a person. I mean, if it didn't, why do people always ask what kind of music one listens to you know?
On another note, I was wondering-- after reading my profile, what are you first impressions?

| Got a minute? Can you review my profile? Posted: 5/3/2009 9:40:26 AM | I think you are adorable and your profile gives a good representation of who you are and what you are seeking.
Good luck in your search ...

| Got a minute? Can you review my profile? Posted: 5/3/2009 11:38:21 AM | My opinion on the music player is to leave it off. If music is a big thing to you then talk about it. Otherwise save it for later discussions.
A song doesn't tell them about you it only tells them one thing you listen to.

| Got a minute? Can you review my profile? Posted: 5/27/2009 10:01:28 AM | I haven't been as closely monitoring plentyoffish in the past couple of days (finals will do that to you!) but now, I've seen all these changes, most noticeably themes. I don't really use my points for anything, so I decided to get one. I can't say I'm in love with any of them really, but I do like the earthy tones that my current theme exhibits.
What are your opinions on themes? Will you ever get one if you don't currently have one?

| Got a minute? Can you review my profile? Posted: 8/18/2009 9:46:29 PM | To spice things up, I changed my profile. I saw one of these "Dear Future Boyfriend" profiles a while ago, and I thought it was pretty clever, so I tried my hand at it. I guess my question now is which one do you think is more effective in garnering responses?
For your reference, I've included my former profile text below:
"Right now, I go to school full time as a cadet at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, but I'm originally from Vallejo, California, so I bounce between New York and California pretty often. At school, I'm a junior and a history major specializing in military history. You could say I have a passion for anything military-- tales from soldiers, uniforms, machines, you name it. If you like military stuff too, let's talk! I'm unsure at the moment if I want to make a career out of the Army, but I guess I'll just play it by ear-- so far so good you know?
I took a photography class in high school, though I must admit, I'm not very good. I just bought my first DSLR recently, so I'm hoping to get back into photography and with all the trails and sights and sounds in New York, finding subject matter shouldn't be too hard. Speaking of trails, I enjoy hiking as well, so if you ever need a buddy to go backpacking with you, I'm down! Oh and water polo! So I suck at water polo, but I LOVE the sport-- I played for three years in high school and for a year here in college.
Alright, so what am I looking for? I'm really just looking for an honest and down to earth girl, someone who loves life, and is willing to try new things, but will still abide within reason to a sense of morals and ethics. A girl who acknowledges that she doesn't know everything yet is willing to share what she does know with others. A girl who is passionate about something is even better, whether it be people, art, or even just browsing internet dating sites-- just have a passion for something that you wouldn't mind experiencing with someone else.
So since you made it this far, you might as well just take a chance and contact me-- c'mon, what do you have to lose? =]
Take care!" | |

| Got a minute? Can you review my profile? Posted: 8/23/2009 10:06:08 PM | Alright well in case anyone was wondering, just by changing up my profile from my "standard issue" one which is posted above to my "Dear Future Girlfriend" one that I currently have, my female first contacts have increased like a thousand percent! (maybe not that high, but it has improved). I think it's because it is different and new. While I wouldn't suggest for EVERYONE to use this method (which I admit I copied from another user, I forgot who) I would suggest that you try to make your profile as unique as possible for best results.
Good luck everyone! | |
