This year we are having the picnic at Sardis lake. It's a larger site and so much more to do, Boating, Swimming, Fishing, Bad mittin, Horseshoes, and Volleyball or just relax under the covered pavilion and listen to music .
****This is a State Park ****No Alcoholic Beverages Allowed****
Please be sure to sign up and let us know how many people you plan to bring with you . This will let us know how much food to be bought and brought .
Hamburger , Hotdogs, Buns, Cheese , Paper Plates, Cups , Silverware and Charcoal will be provided.
Guest can bring condiments such as :
Napkins
Mustard
Mayonnaise
Ketchup
Onions
Pickles
Olives
Lettice
Tomatoes
Baked Beans
Potato Salad
Chips
Desserts
We have pavilion #412 Big Acres. It is a beautiful site and everything is right there that we need.
So bring the family and let's have a great time.Each guest is allowed 3 people .
Please remember to bring lawn chairs, cooler with your drinks , and fishing poles if you want to fish .
Driving directions: Take exit 252 (this is the exit for the town of Sardis) off I-55. Take Hwy 315 east. It is 8 miles from the interstate to the turn off into the area where we will be. Make sure when you get to the park area you stay on the lower lake road. We will post signs to make sure you find us easily.

I'll be there. This is going to be so much fun. I'll probably bring my son, my sister and her girls. Sign me up to bring the potato casserole again. I'll keep a watch on the sign ups and will make a third pan if I need to. As always, if you need any help just let me know. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Since I am close by in Oxford.. anything I can do locally I am willing to do it..
Also, I will have a mostly empty duplex and I will have room for any ladies who would like to spend the night.. or anyone with kids that would like a place to stay course you'll have to bring your own sleeping bags heheheheh rofl.. | |

My cousin and I are trying to skip the family reunion and go show dogs...he he he... We also want to come to Sardis. Dang it... We are trying to work something out . I live in Oxford so I can help get some directions posted.
But in a nutshell:
do you know how to get to Tupelo, Ms. from Huntsville? You would go then on Hwy 78 past Tupelo to New Albany and take Hwy 30 west from New Albany to Oxford. Then in Oxford you will take Hwy 7 South, then Hwy 6 West., Sardis Lake is North off of Hwy 6 West. between Oxford and Batesville. The turn off is about 15 miles west of Oxford...
I can give you more specific instructions with landmarks..
If you will message me I will try to get a map to you complete with landmarks..
I can not message you because you have limited that only men can message you.
Don't google or mapquest it because they will put you on the wrong side of the lake.. then you'd never find us.. lol
I am driving that way on Saturday on my way up to the meet and greet I will get the specific instructions.

Posted: 5/17/2009 6:50:59 PM | IF ANYONE IS GOING TO GOOGLE OR RANDMCNALLY THE DIRECTIONS: Be sure and see if they will give you directions to "Sardis Dam".. because we will be over by the dam. I Googeled the other day and it gave direction to the far side of the lake just because it was closer to Huntsville.
OK, I just advanced searched googled "Sardis Dam, Ms" and got a map of the park. You can adjust the magnification to see the roads. Also you can google for a map from Batesville, Ms. to Sardis Dam, Ms and get those directions. There is a road that leads from the town of Sardis to Sardis Dam also. You can advance search google Sardis, Ms and get a map and adjust the magnification.
