| Campgrounds are open,free admission to parks,who's camping?
Posted: 5/8/2009 4:25:00 PM | | Well this is the start of the camping season. Several campgrounds are opening up,and this year because of the economy there will be free access to Provincial Parks. Is anybody going to try camping this weekend,or are you planning to wait for warmer weather? We're heading up to the Bisset area on Sunday for a couple of days. A bit of cold weather is no problem,as we also camped a few odd nights in an unheated trailer this winter. | |

Posted: 5/8/2009 6:31:46 PM | | Not going this weekend but the long weekend is in. There is about 20-25 camping out for the long weekend. It may just be a little nippy, have tented it when it got down during the night to -11. Just put on the extra sleeping bag, curl up inside and sleep like a baby. The coffee tasts so good the next morning, that is after the ice has melted to make it. | |

Posted: 5/13/2009 5:38:23 AM | | Well,we had a great camping trip. There was ice in the water bucket on Monday morning,but the daytime highs were great. Actually got a sunburn on Tuesday. We camped at an old wayside park called Birch Falls just east of Bisset. A very nice set of rapids with a good size waterfall at the bottom,and the roaring of the falls is very relaxing. The only convenience is an old outhouse that's still useable. Didn't see any bears on the trip,but we shared the camp with two woodchucks. | |

Posted: 5/15/2009 3:26:58 PM | Okay, it is snowing, raining and the wind is gusting........who else is crazy enough to go camping this weekend? I keep checking the weather stations and not one can give the same prediction as to how the weather will be. Never mind from one day to the next, hour to hour!
Maybe we can talk Captain Girly Girl to convince the military to pay us the $200.00 and say we are a experiment...in what, being crazy maybe.
Lots of fire wood is going to be needed, that and plenty of coffee. | |
