This post is going to sound strange. I wasn't going to post it but I would
be interested if anyone else felt any strange vibrations last night?

I'd felt what appeared to be a low frequency hum pretty much all day, though
I didnt really pay too much attention to it until around 11pm when I decided
to watch a film.

So by 11pm I couldnt maintain my concentration on the film so I decided to
investigate what the vibration was and where it could be coming from, incase
it was magnetic interference from my subwoofer or speakers I decided to turn
the PC off and the sound system. I then switched off at the mains supply. This
made no difference.

First thing I assumed it was my neighbour, so I walked around to the front of
the house but not a sound was coming from my neighbours as she was quite
likely in bed around that time. I came back into the house and visited every
room. The vibration was definately stronger on my ground floor. I couldnt
hear this vibration but could definately feel it. I happen to look at my dog an
Airedale who's incredibly alert, he was looking at the floor, I then thought
well we both can't be going mad.

I switched the computer back on and put the film on, whilst doing so half expected
a burrowing machine to come up through my dining room floor

Talk about weird, has anyone else ever felt anything like this?

It's a giant mole.

I'm pretty sure I know where this is going, based on your previous posts. It's a Zionist Conspiracy; they are digging tunnels under your house and installing special Zoog Wave generator machines that mess with your mind to make you do stupid thinks like comply with Health and Safety legislation, pay taxes and wear your pants back to front.

Was the film you were watching War of the Worlds by any chance?

Do you have a mad professor in your basement?

Do you have Tinnitus?

Any mining/tunneling in your area they could be cutting a new seam near you and depending what your bed rock is it could it could transmit the low end of the scale a bit like music through a floor you only tend to hear the base

I'm puzzled about how you couldn't hear these vibrations but you could feel them. Was wondering where in your body you felt the vibrations?

Hi Shedcat, you could have a point with the mining. Though I dont
know of any work thats being undertaken. I did mention it to a neighbour
who didnt feel a thing.

Felt the vibration through my feet, when i put my hand on the floor there
was definately activity, though not that I could hear. I felt the walls around the
house but could feel nothing coming from them.

I observed my dog a few times staring at the ground and sniffing, though might
not mean much but he did it on several occasions during the day and evening.

I just asked him again for you Shedcat, he said he's completely Tinitus free...
thats good to know

Are there any major road building operations going on in the area? I know when they were doing the A1 - M1 link road we could hear ridiculously loud banging (even though we're a fair distance away) during the night, it kept my son awake and you could hear it over the sound of the tv.

Maybe it was an earthquake/aftershock

If it happens again stick the Beachboys on full whack, that'll show 'em

Geology can be weird at times rock strata can have a strange effect on acoustic percussion and your house was causing it to resonate see if it starts up again tonight for next door maybe there’s a break or fracture point in the bedrock. Honest I’m not a nerd a friend of mine used to be a Mines surveyor and they used to sent sound waves through the rock to listen for water pockets and lose rock

M'dear fellah, I really am most sorry for your inconvenience.

Thing of it is, y'see, the memsahib conconcted one of her infernal chicken jalfrezis the other night (the daft baggage still thinks she can cook, despite having poisoned half the population of India) and me guts were in something of a turmoil for a while. As ususal.

Pleased to say, though, that the resulting posterior blast cleared the old tubes (and a few neighbouring streets) a treat, Earthquake Watch has been stood down, and all has returned to normal.

Sorry about upsetting the hound.

Perhaps it was a girl who lives in your neighborhood who had got to the point in the relationship where she wanted to introduce her favourite sex toy?

Just watched the repeat of Britains got talent, Mr Methane isn't your neighbour is he ?

Maybe one of your female neighbours accidently dropped her rampant rabbit down the loo and it's now entertaining the sewage system. The batteries will run out eventually

Here it was a boom shakka shakka boom shakka and was definitely air-transmitted, not underground.

Actually, now I think about it, it could have been be due to the proximity of the Radio One Big Weekend site... about a mile away...

Strangely, the Council didn't seem to want to respond to my complaints about the environmental noise pollution...

Odds on OP with your history of posts its MI6. As you know all communications are monitored looking for certain keywords and its probably just a glitch in the monitoring equipment that has been installed throughout your house, one of which is obviously under your floor.

All joking aside I would get a crowbar and start lifting up your floorboards until you find the source.

Have you thought of checking around to see what's going on in your environment?

I used to have perfect pitch before middle-age hearing loss, and punk-band-bass-related hearing loss started to kick in. There was one time when i kept hearing a strange high-pitched beep, that it turned out was caused by the carrier wave from the local tv transmitter. It ran at around 28KHz, which is outside most people's hearing range. Is why it affected me but not anyone else that i knew.

It's worth paying attention to this sort of thing. As one friend still says, it's the bullet you don't hear that kills you.

One friend lives in East London, near the channel tunnel rail link route. His garden vanished, along with all of the neighbours' gardens. The engineer running the tunnelling machine said, "We wondered why we were getting more soil than we expected..."

It might seem funny, but his house nearly collapsed, along with everyone else on that street. The channel tunnel company paid out a large amount of money, whilst saying, " Here is some money. It's not our fault, and we did not do anything. We are NOT admitting liability for anything, so have some money and go away!"

The bass hum you're perceiving may be entirely innocent, but it might not. Find out sooner rather than later, before your house falls down.

Also be glad it's not the Brown Note. Between 5-9Hz, the vibration causes your bowels to release...

I've reached the conclusion , that the vast majority of people who now use these forums are either : [1] Totally fu*king insane [2] Drug addled [3] 1 & 2 . The percentage / ratio increases significantly after the water shed and into the wee small hours .

I'm of the opinion that its quite likely to be contagious. So my plan of action is to exit the area right now as a temporary measure . If I still feel the same way after a good nights sleep, then I'll bailing out for good in the very near future. Fecking nutters ......
Good night & God bless.
