Everyone makes their own reservations, I just coordinate the event. If you can leave the social head games at home and may be interested respond and I will be glad to provide more details. WHITE WATER RAFTING WEEKEND PARTY
When: Weekend of July 17-19, 2009 (Book early to get in on a great weekend) Where: Ohiopyle, PA (about 3 hours west of Baltimore, MD) This will be a great weekend party anchored by a 3 – 5 hour White Water Raft Trip down the Youghiogheny River. Looking for outgoing single men & women ages 30 to 60 who want to kick back and relax and just have a good time. The Rafting is optional if you just want to join in on the rest of the fun for the weekend. Details Rafting has two levels, Expert (upper) and Novice/Intermediate (lower ). Rafting can be scheduled for Saturday, 3 times available each day - you choose, however most people will be choosing Saturday, at 11:30am on the Lower Youghiogheny. After rafting there will be a party Saturday nite, anchored by my personal RV Motor Coach. (alcoholic beverages ARE ALLOWED) The Rafting outfitter will supply all equipment for Rafting. What you need to bring: 1) Tent or RV, unless you can get into the local motel or book a Cabin at the campground. 2) Your own food and beverages 3) Clothing that you don’t mind getting wet, along with appropriate footwear 4) Any other camping supplies including cooking utencils etc. Make your own reservations The Outfitter is: White Water Adventures (www.wwaraft.com) Phone: 800-992-7238 6 Negley Street, Ohiopyle, PA Rates: The 2008 price was $69.70/per person, (might be more if booked in 2009)mention your’e with Mike Coppola for possible 10% discount. The time slot that everyone is booking is Sat. 11:30am, Lower Youghiogheny (Intermediate rapids, class 2-4)

Full bath facilites, including full hook ups for RVs Rates: Call for campground for rates. Mike Coppola will be at RV site #10 Tent camping – Cabin Rentals – RV sites with full hookups Motel: The Yough Plaza Motel – 800-992-7238 (very limited number of rooms) Other hotels www.chalkhill hotels.com Misc Information: Verizon has the best cellular reception in this area, all the others are more spotty, however we will have Verizon phones in the group should your cell phone not have good enough reception for your needs. Should you need to charge your phone please contact Mike Coppola for arrangements thru his RV. This is going to be a fun weekend. By the way see below for Preliminary list of activities going on after the Rafting part. White Water Trip - Monthly update Tentative weekend activities (Preliminary)
Friday – Check in from to 3 till 11pm (get settled in and call Mike Coppola 410-371-9448 to let him know that you have arrived so we can keep track who is there) Dinner arrangements to be made by each person for Friday nite Campfire at Motor Coach– informal chance to meet people Saturday- 8am-10am Breakfast to be provided by Mike Coppola at the RV (Possibly French Toast & coffee – everyone to bring their own eating utensils, plates and coffee cups, otherwise you’ll be eating out of your hands) 11:30am Check-in at the Rafting Outfitter (about 10 minutes from Campground) 12:00am Trip starts down the river and can last 3 to 5 hours Lunch will be provided on the River by the Outfitter Once returning from the Rafting trip Activities to start Assortment of non-strenuous team relays and other events Dinner Saturday evening Everyone provides their own dinner Saturday evening Campfire at Motor Coach, meeting new friends, bring your own marshmallows and whatever you want to drink.
Sunday Breakfast arrangements to be made by each person Check out by 3pm (call Mike Coppola when leaving so we know everyone is ok to leave with no problems)
Misc information Items to bring Everyone responsible for bring their own napkins, eating and cooking utensils, plates, and cups, If you’ll be camping in a tent you may want to bring some kind of grill to cook on. Most cabins have a kitchen. Your own food and snacks for meals not included in the trip (basically Friday dinner, Satruday dinner, and Sunday breakfast) All your own alcoholic/non alcoholic beverages including any drinking water Any necessary camping equipment Clothing and footwear that you don’t mind getting wet when rafting. A chair of some type THE MOST IMPORTANT ITEM TO BRING IS A GOOD ATTITUDE FOR FUN – PLEASE LEAVE THE SOCIAL HEAD GAMES AND BAGGAGE AT HOME. | |
