It seems that the questions get more and more unusual these days and I do not understand the purpose behind that. | |

Most of the time the strange question will come from some untrained ***hole that thinks they are being clever.
The question you want is the question you should ask at the end of an interview.
"Is there anything you have seen or heard today that would lead you to believe you are not going to offer me the job?" or slight variations of it as appropriate.
This will often give you the opportunity to revisit any areas they misinterpreted you on. | |

Posted: 7/6/2009 1:38:45 PM | Weird open ended questions seek answers about introvert/extrovert, ability to get excited (thus get excited about the work). It's not the answer so much as the type of response.
The fellow who's a recruiter seems to miss the point of interveiws, it's not just about job skills, those are a minimum requirement, it's the other stuff that cause yea/nay decisions. BTW, weird q's are fine as long as everyone interviewed is asked the same weird question, avoiding of course those stupid qs that would get you intro trouble, like do you have a car, children, and so on. | |

she asked me... did you ever sleep with your boss.???
i was totally taken aback as there was a panel of five... four of them men, all staring at me.
i smiled sweetly ...laid my hands on the table and did a harry met sally scene.
they fell around the place laughing and said they loved my sense of humour, as it was needed in the job i applied for...
by the way... did i get the job...yes1
did i sleep with my boss..................................no!!!!!!!!
what was the job...... you may ask........................legal firm.....
just goes to prove having a good sense of humour can go a long way,1 as the old saying goes... f eck them.. if they cant take a joke!!! by the way...ended up managing the firm and have to say it was the best place to work ever!!!! | |
