BEATLES TRIBUTE NIGHT, OPEN AIR CONCERT AND OPTIONAL CAMPING WEEKEND?. For those unfamiliar with such events, what this actually is ...
Every year twice a year a small group of people known as Summer in the Square put on an evening of entertainment which consists of tribute band, disco and sometimes a singer. It's hosted in the Market Square so its an out door event. They park a truck trailer at the top of the square as a stage connect electrics, put the band on, fill the market square with chairs and tables , get a drinks licence and invite people to enjoy the evening. People either bring their own drinks, buy them at the supermarket or the 4 pubs and wine bar around the square. They have a hog roast burger van and sometimes a chocolate fountain. Entry is free but they ask for an optional donation towards the next event. Over two thousand people attended the last one. Seems the perfect venue for a pof meet.
We'll be the market square in front of The Square wine bar. The square Wine Bar will be putting a hog roast on for Pork and Stuffing rolls (They're called 'batches' here) Price to be confirmed.
No glass on the market square. Please use plastic, either bring your own or ask a steward. Pubs have Plastic to serve drinks in.
Smart casual dress is recommended but dress as you please and if you are lucky enough to look under 21 you must have ID to get served
**Camping**
For those wishing to camp Friday and Saturday night there's a camp site a couple of miles outside of the town at the country pub, The Horse and Jockey, right in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside.
It's a small camp site that accepts tents and caravans, has electric hook up, toilets and disposal point but no showers as yet. The pub does home cooked food at reasonable prices. £9 per tent/caravan £11 with electric hook, plots with electric are limited. Bit extra for an awning, think it's £1.50

| NORTH WARWICKSHIRE Beetles tribute concert and optional camping weekend 6th June Posted: 5/22/2009 11:34:20 AM | Well they've performed here before and are back by public demand, they themselves also wanted to come back as its a great venue that is family friendly and free, you can't get much cheaper than bring your own. The Market square gets packed, there's five bars but there's still queues. There's a pub on the camp site, also there's about 26 pubs in the town, some have live music, singers or bands. I can check if anything's on. There's disco music between the Beatles being on and games for the kids. | |

There's also some sort of singer on at one of the hotels. There's a late bar to go onto too that's open till 4, depends what you're interested in.

The forcast for shell was rain all weekend then it was just till 4pm on Friday and on Monday. I'll keep checking though. We'll be meeting up in the market Square outside the wine bar. I'm sure I'll think of something to mark the spot. I'm sure it will be a good night, it always has been in the past.

Too far for me to get a taxi home and could definately do with a drink so may have to borrow a tent lol , If I decide to come I'll be on my own so will need to know where your meeting if thats ok.

The camping area is outside the town its about 2 miles up the Coleshill road B4116 at the Horse and Jockey. Not sure how many are camping tbh. There seems to be a few.

| NORTH WARWICKSHIRE Beatles tribute concert and optional camping weekend 6th June Posted: 6/2/2009 7:02:12 PM | I'll be there Friday and Saturday but might have to pop off to do a few things then set up on stuff up Saturday. I've got a big tent. Well two tents 7 metres by 3 each.doubt I'll need both though.
Indian can't decide wether he should live in a teepee or a wigwam so he buys both, he dreams about wigwams and teepees every night, so he goes to the witch doctor and say doctor, I dream about teepees one night and wigwams the next, I don't know which to live in. The witch doctor says ahh that is your problem you see, you are too tense.
What is the difference anyway? letters on a postcard I'll put a box by the tent entrance.
