Wrote to talked to then met in person, and how long have you been on POF? Looking at the percentages really interested in hearing the numbers. | |

I spent a yr and a half of it in a fabulous relationship.
Before and after that hiatus I have met around 10 -15 men in person. | |

so in about 4 years that'd be um 1 versus about 200 or more???. PLENTY OF FRIENDS works! Both genders.

In the beginning I attended numerous events and met a ton of people. And many of those people are still in my close circle of friends today. 
As for how many people I've met one on one, maybe two?
Or did I lose count after two?
Were there more than two?

and alot more girls than men ...we even got a breakfast club going at one point with all the women that met on her e-- that was fun.....

Aside from the OP there are only five posters here I haven’t met, two I will meet this weekend  finally!!!
BC has got a room here reserved, I'm sure some day he’ll come knocking, if not I just may hoof it up to his place, camping fishing, who said poker???? Lol
It is like Phat said “ PLENTY OF FRIENDS works!”
According to POF event attendees statistics I should know about 2100, but my personal data bank is more fragmented, possibly about 500 I may recognize, but surely about 200 men and women I’ve met more than once at the events and there are about 40 who have become part of a loose circle of friends.
I can just see it coming

Finding labels I won’t even mention, to each their own judgment and prejudice. 
But whatever you may think consider this, some have outgrown the need to score, run off with anything alive and passable. Some rather respect those people who they meet, no matter how incompatible. A friendly chat, even a flirt is great with nice company, maybe make a new friend and no one gets hurt. The RIGHT person surly is somewhere, you may have even met, and maybe just the timing wasn’t right.
Note to the Eagle:
Come weekend camping I’ll bring a peace of Halibut for you, but frozen will have to do. We’ll all sit back and watch you thaw her...

180 people would be a moderate guesstimate. Let me do the math. 3 years; average of 5 people
per month. Shrug. Some months it is more.
How many have remained friends that I see at least once a month or have stayed in contact with
separate from the events? About 20. How many do I keep in touch with randomly - far more.
How many did I know before I joined POF? One.
Was I outgoing when I joined POF? No, but I am now.
Do I think POF works? Yes. There are lots of POF success stories.
Have I met anyone who rocked my boat? Yes but the feelings weren't mutual or we only hung out
a few months before we both realized that we weren't a match.
Have I witnessed a lot of bitterness and "woe is me" attitudes? Hell ya. How can someone
possibly be ready to date when they have to learn how to socialize in public again? If you don't
enjoy your own company, how can you expect someone of the opposite sex to want to?
It is all about attitude and the effort that you as a member want to contribute.

that I think of this as a social site... more so than a dating site and while
there are people that you meet one on one, the vast majority of people
I have met through POF has been hosting and attending events...
Probably over the last few years that would be three or four hundred
if you are counting how many I have actually met... but if you
count the number of friends I have made by meeting at events...
oh... I'd say three or four hundred... give or take a few

Posted: 5/20/2009 8:32:01 AM | I have been here three years, talked to dozens of people by mail then only a few (approx ten)progressed to phone calls. I have met about 1o people one on one for coffee over that time, so that makes about three a year. I have two really good candidates at the moment who have potential, one in my city, one in another country. I am about to meet the closer one this week and the farther one in early fall, if the closer one isn't more than a friend by then.
I don't limit myself to looking just for "the one" here, as some have mentioned previously and that attitude has gotten me out more and allowed me to meet some good people I wouldn't otherwise have met.I find the more suitable people I meet the more likely I will meet more people through them! I say it works if you work it! | |

I met someone in early 2007 who I am still seeing.
But when I first joined I met perhaps about 10 guys from this site. Perhaps I settled for the first normal one, because the ones I met were creepy.
Before I was on other social sites and chatrooms meeting people as well (probably upward around 50) but the online experience has never been positive for me.
