Happiness... does it find you, or do you seek for and find it, or perhaps happiness merely passes nearby and you need to reach out for it?
I think sometimes we realize too late we could have been happy with someone or something, if only we'd reached out and accepted it into our lives, but we wanted more and passed it over.

| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 5/20/2009 7:29:12 PM | No, happiness does not find me. I find happiness. If you wait for good things to come to you, you probably will wait a long time.
kind of a silly question. . . a twelve year old waits for good things, but an adult seeks them out.
|
| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 5/20/2009 7:35:02 PM | I am a true believer that Love...Happiness will find you. It will find you when you least expect it and when you stop your search for it.
I do think a lot of us are here are hoping it will find us.
Ya....pretty simple to me.
PS: I don't think it is a childish or silly question.

| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 5/20/2009 7:44:39 PM | I don't find it a silly question either..... I have been 12 almost 4 times now and it works for me!! All kinds of happy people find me,.... shiny, happy people I am going to find LOTS of happy people at this weekends' POF camping trip.
I think sometimes we realize too late we could have been happy with someone or something, if only we'd reached out and accepted it into our lives, but we wanted more and passed it over
ahhhh yes, I think this was covered in the waiting for the BBD ( bigger better deal) thread.
~~Channels The Partridge Family~..... "C'mon get happy"..........
VVVVVV I think the OP asked "you" not in a general term but how each poster feels about happiness in their personal lives not globally.

| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 5/20/2009 7:48:27 PM | Tell a starving child in Africa with AIDs that Happiness will find him or her. We take so much for granted.
Perhaps, if you have really good karma, you might attract the same type of energy into your life. I think to some extent you get what you give. However, this is still an active way of viewing the world. Waiting around for good things is passive.

| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 5/20/2009 7:55:51 PM | ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I was considering that this topic was in the context of the Dating Site called POF.
We want to start talking about general topics in the larger context of world wide happiness....world wide peace....world wide satisfaction of life?....
what is the next topic?...how many angels can fit on the head of a pin?
POST NOTE: BELOW \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/
The answer is more accurately 41.1862948....but you being a layperson I will let it go.

| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 5/20/2009 8:11:51 PM | I will remain focussed…..meditates…
….
How could you even think you search for happiness Jane when all I see is negativity spewing from you….give it a break.
OMG Jane Xavery…thought it was against POF rules to keep coming back after you’v been band.
I come into forums to have my mind stimulated….and to remain happy…lol I had thoughts on happiness till I opened the thread….and I am sooooooooooooooo unhappy at the moment.
I realy am exausted...as to the lack of movement (happiness) coming from you Xavery/JAne

| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 5/20/2009 8:40:42 PM | Xaverie?????????????? I do not know who you are speaking of, but she may have deleted herself. What makes you so sure she was banned?
Who says I am searching for happiness? Perhaps, I have found it. But I did not WAIT for it to come to me, I went and FOUND it

I think you are projecting as well as off topic. Please do not use user names and make personal comments. BTW - would you not consider this comment judgmental? As a newbie, I expect I bit of flack but I did study the rules! Yipee!
My point is you must find happiness, not wait for it to find you. Happiness is not a birthright. It is something we hope for and if we are lucky enough we feel its warm embrace.
Xavery is a fascinating name. It is a variation of Xavier and means brilliant, very bright. She sounds like that - your Xavery. Many posters seem to have odd love/hate relationships with her.
Despite all you have said, I hope you find your happiness or have found it.
As Joseph Campbell said, "Follow your bliss!" Following is not waiting and like it or not, most of us know what makes us happy. Another way of saying this would be follow your heart and then you will be happy.
VV Below - very good response!

| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 5/20/2009 8:43:02 PM | I believe you are the creator of your own happiness. With that positive attitude, good things will happen. It's just a natural progression | |

| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 5/20/2009 10:40:38 PM | Some interesting responses here, learning to cast aside the negative to be open to happiness.
Not sure what to make of the X/J identity crisis though. It is plain as can be.
The country of Bhutan has mandated happiness in its constitution. It is reputed to be the happiest place on Earth.
Some countries measure their Gross National Product (GNP), but Bhutan measures its Gross National Happiness (GNH).

| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 5/20/2009 11:43:15 PM | I think different people have different dispositions, and are just happier people by nature. Other people really have to work at being happy... I thought Denmark was the happiest?? (I heard something on the radio about it) | |

| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 5/21/2009 1:11:55 AM | IIRC, 42 was the answer, but the computer misunderstood the question.
In all seriousness, you find your own happiness. Happiness isn't a spouse, or a pet. It's not food, or a TV show.
I'm generally a happy person, but there are things that can get me down. Things that I can't control. So, I look after the things that I CAN control, and that's usually good enough. If you can't be happy without another person, then having that other person isn't going to make you happy. Not in the long run. That's my opinion, anyway.
Still, we're all here to find someone to enhance our happy experiences, aren't we?!

| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 5/21/2009 8:56:09 AM | Happiness is within - you either have it or you don't
others may act as catalyst, but that can only work if it is already there.

| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 5/21/2009 8:56:50 AM | Happiness doesn't find me. Nor do I find it. I have a little factory out back where I make the stuff. For those with a happiness shortage, feel free to message me orders for some, I ship right away. | |

What a splendid idea!
Hmm, can I use some of my POF gift points and get you to deliver an extra-large package of Happiness to Miss X/~Jane? She has said she is feverish, her nose bleeds (haemorrhagic fever?) and I think is needing a large injection of something.
Maybe others would pitch in with their points too for this cause?

| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 5/21/2009 12:22:45 PM | Sure! People always find what they feel like finding. Except..sometimes when one comes to the forums and stumbles across people picking on each other...(this is getting old, tiring and annoying) Question is: did I feel like findiing it? NO! Did it find me? Confused... MN | |

| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 5/21/2009 12:28:37 PM | | I think happiness is something we carry with us, and finding the right dress/shoes/job/person/lottery ticket might provide an additional high for a while, eventually we settle back into whatever happiness we experienced before this wondrous event. If one wants to be happier, one has to create it from within and not expect it to appear from without. | |

| Happiness... does it find you? Posted: 5/21/2009 4:13:36 PM | Miz Fit..way to go gal!!! I love to see people happy including myself but I truly believe you have to be open for happiness. Some of the happiest times of my life have come about when I least expected it to and just to give you and example...only a few weeks ago a stranger came up to me with a beautiful red rose and told me he loved my smile and that I am beautiful (he is so clever..lol).
It might just be in the sound of your childrens laughter or hearing a family member say I Love You..happiness comes in many ways to people that have their hearts open.

No one can make us happy.
We need to make ourselves happy first... we dont look to others to make ourselves happy we look within oursleves.
