| long distance ,and people who judge others Posted: 5/22/2009 12:16:22 PM | | why is it people judge people by what they do fer a living? i drive a truck (well actually own it,work on it drive it etc etc )and it seems when women see this well they run fer the hills like a mad woman.yes i am gone alot and sometimes fer 2 to 3 weeks but what is the real answer to why women see it and right away judge someone by what they do when they never met the person or even know what that person is like. its like a doctor or lawyer. you see the sucess they have but they can be the biggest idiot out here. what should it matter what someone does. is it a trust thing cuz zomeone is gone alot or is it the apart time? | |

Like... you meet them, everything is going fine... maybe something happening... then ZING! you mention you're a truck driver and they just shut down? If it's like that then I'll agree and say it seems like a prejudice about your job... I'll admit I've got my own set of assumptions about truck drivers... they're based on pretty much nothing but... well... here are a few: Truck drivers listen to lots of country music and talk radio and and are mostly pretty conservative/Right Wing Truck drivers often take various illicit stimulants to stay awake and keep their deadlines. Truck drivers often develop hemorrhoids from sitting for so long in one position. Truck drivers make good money but the lifestyle is hard on them and their families.
Like I said, ignorant prejudice... but we all have them about something or other.

| long distance ,and people who judge others Posted: 5/23/2009 3:22:31 PM | well its like they just get quiet. and are like ummm oh. then when they ask where ya go and how often are ya home they really get quiet. i am gone 2 to 3 weeks sometimes. if i wanted to be home every week i could be i wouldnt make great money like i do now. but its like i tell em if someone came along that was willing to try i would give up the money to be home more.life is too short and money isnt everything.
as far as that ya said about those of us that drive well lemme school ya alil and maybe your will understand us alil better. fer one umm country music ...no way not on my behalf its all about rock and alternative music. talk radio well only thing i listen to is opie and anthony on xm radio..funny guys. stimulants well not really drug testing is very strick in trucking with drug tests alot and you would be suprised what they loom fer. hemorroids...now thats funny tooo funny. i ride on air air ride seat, suspension and cab. plus i stop every 4 hrs . no load is worth bustin my butt fer and ruining my health.and i dont say you have ignorant prejudice you and just not educated in trucking like alotta folks. they see and believe what media says not what really happens out here . but tks fer the resonse and no im not mad at all we all have opinions right?

Not sure that helps, but it had to be said I think
