| Hyack Parade......
Posted: 5/24/2009 9:09:38 PM | Growing up in Vancouver I'm used to the usual things that make a parade a parade...
The floats, clowns, marching bands, fire trucks,police horses etc......things that entertain in some fashion..something for the family to enjoy, kids especially.
Todays parades certainly pale in comparisson....
It's alot to do with exsposure and advertizing vs a celebration.
The sight of politicians waving like loonies out of a dealer labeled convertable have no place in a parade, I can see a grand marshal, maybe the Mayor.......but having surrounding Mayors, council members, even a rep from that disgusting institution they call a senate, talk about egos and annoying.
Then there's the special interest , rag tag groups with no costumes, no uniforms, no effort and 0 entertainment value....just some self indulgent free exsposure.
I watched the kids faces as these groups and politicians went by.....not one did'nt have a puzzeled look on their faces.....kinda like...HUH????
Anyways, good job to those participants that entertained, dressed and put alot of effort into their participation....
