| Have YOU played with the new background feature? Posted: 5/25/2009 8:32:16 AM | I went to edit my profile, and now, IF you are a Gold Star member, OR have gathered 5000 points, YOU can decorate your profile with a new background.
This will make YOUR profile stand out. Anyone can "preview" it and test what their's might look like.
I found the picture background abit to small to really notice, and the colour of the foreground not quite complimentary to my outfit or eyeshadow..
But with a little tweaking, I think its a great idea.

With that said, I don't like any of the backgrounds. They're all too busy. So I'm sticking with the plain old ugly POF design.

That is not worth 5000 precious points. And I couldn't be bothered to read up on how to change the appearance so that it makes any difference. So I could be had...but not this time

| Have YOU played with the new background feature? Posted: 5/26/2009 12:09:11 PM | No, I didn't know there were new backgrounds available but I think these should be free or a lot cheaper than 5,000 points. It's taken me a year & a half on POF to get 6,000 points ... mind you I've sent a bunch of gifts to my g/fs so I've used up a bunch of points already. I'm not even sure how I got those points ... certainly wasn't for fab forum posts. Do we just automatically get yay number of points daily just for being on POF or do you get points for browsing profiles, sending out or replying to email, etc.? | |

Points
You collect points on plentyoffish and you can redeem them for sending gifts to other users. Points are updated at 12:15 Pacific Standard time, if you were online in the previous 24 hours you get an additional 60 points .
Logging in to your mail profile daily will help you accumulate points. In my previous profile I had thousands of points but sometime (last year I think) admin removed points from many if not all user accounts. I had thousands of points wiped out.
We never know what admin will do next but I don't think there is much point in building up a reserve to send a really nice gift.
This time around I've used most of my points sending chocolates, wine and balloons.

The only gift I really liked sending was that beautiful woman wearing very few clothes - and that was to get the beer icon back and her perfect body out of my face!

| Have YOU played with the new background feature? Posted: 6/27/2009 11:20:38 PM | Instead of sending POF gifts I did send gifts to make the ladies smile. I sent them gifts of my words, and yeah, I scrimped and saved my points until I had balance of 5,000+.
Then like a kid in the candy store, I spent the points. I took a few themes for a test drive around the block, settled on one I like, but hey, have the option to change it any time I want. I like best the ones that also change the profile itself, not just the areas outside the profile.
The theme is still in effect so I guess the cheque didn't bounce.
