Someone's just told me of his dislike of wet-looking, shiny lip gloss. No, he likes the look of it, he just does not want to kiss a woman wearing it. What's that about? Is it common?

My dentist doesn't like it either, makes me wipe off my lipstick. Look at this way, some people just don't like the taste or the feel of lip gloss/lipstick. It may look great but doesn't necessarily translate into feeling great for the other person. No biggie. On the other hand, if this particular man starts coming up with a list of all the other things he doesn't like, there might be an "issue".

Yes, very common. The early lipglosses were extremely sticky. Imagine trying to kiss someone with that crap smeared on their lips. If you wear the newer kinds of lipgloss that feel like lip balm then educate him on the fact that not all lipglosses are the same.

I wear a lovely Hawaiin Tropic one that I can barely tell is on and it tastes like berries. When I have been kissed, whilst wearing it, I've been told I tasted like I'd just eaten a fruit flavoured popsicle.

I don't know if it's common but I am the same way! It may look wonderful but it's not about looks when your kissing.

mmmmmmmmmmmm!!!, i love a pair of warm shiney lips, a woman who glosses her lips up, outright desires or subconsciously sending an invitation for a suitor to taste her passion
pair it off with her big wanting eyes signaling her look of ("come hither and kiss me -pleeeeeeeze!")
-and i'm under her spell

Just as common as someone saying they like blue eyes, or red hair or anyone of the other millions of things we base physical attraction on. We all like what we like. I dated one guy who hated eyeliner. Go figure.

Guys will always look at a woman's mouth. I have had entire first meets where the guy has done nothing but stare at my mouth.better than staring at my chest but still a little bit off.

One of the very few strong preferences (not quite a rule, but a very strong preference) I have about women is "the less makeup the better", and the worst of all of it is lipstick/lip gloss. I don't understand why women wear the stuff in the first place. Is it so hard to feel pretty with just the assets you have naturally?

From my perspective, it's really gross to kiss. I'm a very tactile person; most of the foods I dislike have nothing to do with the taste, and everything to do with the texture. I don't want to have to wipe my mouth off of nasty lip gloss after an intense kissing session. To me, it's just really, really gross.

It's OK for looks, but wipe it off for kissing. Even with all the spare time I've wasted variously over the years it has never been tempting to buy a thing of lick gloss as a snack.

I just lick it and suck it off regardless, doesn't matter to me. And I've not heard that being a high priority complaint amongst guys. I don't like lip gloss on women who barely have any lips.

I love wet, shiny, sparkly lip gloss! U don't have to kiss it when I have it on. In the car I can wipe it off and reapply or when u get to the bedroom! Most guys don't seem to mind it!

Oh Chrono where have you been all my life? LOL

I want a guy who is prepared to kiss me with it on or off - not be analyzing the situation

I love my lipgloss - mine tastes like watermelon and strawberries!!

Not common. Most men like the feminine things women do (makeup, smelling good, smooth skin, shiny lips). I certainly do.

So he like the way it looks but not the way it feels and/or tastes. What's the big deal?

LMAO, with this method, he will come to like anything, you name it! I think you should patent it, OutMind. There is some prior art, but who cares, this would not be the first time.

Now this is funny.

The FDA is going to require testing for effectiveness of the system. Any volunteers?

to tell the truth, in my opinion i don't like the look of lip gloss or any other sign of 'please pay attention to me'. i prefer a woman of confidance, of knowing that her mind is the strongest part of her and although she has a body and is quite capable of indulging in it, she doesn't rely on it as her primary form of attracting a mate. that is what lip gloss means to me when i see a single girl trying to meet a guy. now as far as me and my girl going out, you want to wear that ***ty dress and shiny lip gloss, wear it with class and just know that it will be coming off. it will most probably be ripped off but nontheless, it is coming off when we get home!!!

Just tell him it's the same as lubricant...but for the lips.

Sorry OP, but if a guy griped about lip gloss with me, I'd tell him to find a lip glossless girl somewhere. It just seems to be a petty and mediocre thing to b*tch about.

Kissing a woman wearing lipgloss or lipstick is kind of like kissing a crayon. Try it and you'll know what guys feel.

I don't know about common, I wouldn't think twice about it... I admit some makeup and face/body lotions do taste awful, so always test for flavour at the makeup counter for things you're planning to use on kissable places

nycman for your info I am not "seeking attention" by wearing my lipgloss. I'm not a huge fan of makeup (lipstick included) and gloss helps to keep my lips smooth, especially in the winter time.

I'm sorry but that doesn't make me shallow.....................it just makes me angry that people like you can assume to know people like me.

they have chapstick that does that and doesnt bring attention to the lip area, which is a highly erogenous zone.
