I had a crash course in Spanish do to a job that took me to South America for weeks at a time. I would love to continue to learn it to a fluent stage.
Learning German would be fun too.

Sorry Alura, it's not an 'A' for your test.
But at least a 'B' for any German would understand you.

The bf's been teaching me Farsi. I've also been corresponding with a teacher in France who is expected to come here with some exchanged students in December. They're also the 2 of the translators so I'm hoping to be able to communicate better with their students this year instead of last year, smacking them upside the head when I want to say "NO." lol just kidding. I know a little French but not a whole lot, a whole lot rusty though. I've also been learning to speak my native tongue better, Ojibway. I understand it no problem, but speaking it is a bit difficult sometimes but not so much anymore, yay me!

It's funny how yiddish words are adopted in dutch.

'Tof' = good

'Ly Chaim' is used as 'cheers' and in dutch pronounced as 'daar ga je' (there you go).

'Mazzel' is used in dutch for lucky by chance.

Anyone wanting to learn a new language try linkword at linkword.com
Most languages courses you will give up after a month, I will tell you now, because it's hard work even if you start out with best of intentions. Linkword gives you a method to learn words which other methods won't.

I know I would be very happy if alot of the people here in the US would learn english!!

Working all over Chicago, you go into entire communities that speak little to no english, usually the very young kids being the translators.

i'd love to learn navajo. i ordered a book and tape, hoping to learn, but i think it's a language you really need to use regularly. and pennsylvania has a conspicuous absence of navajo speakers.
