You can NOT get EXACT locations by doing a whois on an IP address by yourself. I am a progrmamer, there is a certain lvl of that needs to be met before respect is given. (Even in the non-coding world, it still applies) To get respct, u have to earn it, and u, sir (or ma'am) have not earned it.

Saying u're a programmer because u can write code in visual basic only touches the top of the ice burg of the coding world. Try something harder, like Assembly or hell, even C++ would be more of a challenge than Visual Basic. I can direct u to some nice books and websites in which would help u learn if u want.

Perhaps u could go into business with ur l33t hackr skilz and write a phone home utility that the original poster could have used!

MSDOS, in ANY verion, does not have a WHOIS commad by defalt, linux/unix does. Perhas if u want to justy, u need to tell the OP the drection he wold need to go in to do a WHOIS. (Of whic, it still does not give u an exct name an address, it is an IP Adresss assigned in a block of IP Addresses to an ISP, it is NOT a website regisration, in which the WHOIS information would give u an address if that person is stupid enough not to use a private registration. Again ISP WHOIS VS WEBITE WHOIS, TWO DIFFEENT THINGS, SO DON'T THINK u'RE EVEN CLOSE TO BEING RIGHT)

Also, a netstat -n command, in orde to ident IP Address if ur target effectively, u would ned to run a netstat -n befre the connction.
