Does not understand

I was with a man for a little over a year. We met when I moved south to Alabama and in November we moved to Tallahassee. About 3 weeks ago, he was being very loving and sweet, lots of cuddling, and definately more than usual. The next morning he woke me up by packing all of my stuff and driving me to Dothan AL and dropping me on the side of the road with no cash, phone, money, family or friends in the area and all of my bags in the pouring rain and drove back to Tallahassee. I was utterly stunned and in shock and heartbroken, then mad, but now Im just confused. There were no fights before this, although we did have our problems just like any other couple. I had started having panic attacks from the amount of stress 2 months earlier, and there were other stresses on our relationship, but nothing major. I know he still cares very much for me and I still care very much for him, and a few weeks later he called me telling me he missed me and wondered if he did the right thing. He's completely torn up about it. What I cant understand is what in the WORLD possessed him to drop me in Alabama like that.

Either he's a fruitcake, you're a fruitcake or you are both complete and utter fruitcakes. This story seems to have no basis in reality.

Let's see:

You apparently have:

1) No job
2) No money
3) No close family or friends
4) No ability to ascertain how a relationship is going.

Just some friendly advice...I'd work on the first three BEFORE you get back into a another relationship.
Then...after all that's done....you'll definitely need to look hard at that 4th item....

I know you really need to figure out why but he is a pig and you don't want him so why he treated you like trash is immaterial. I would venture to guess he found another woman if he got all warm and fuzzy before he dumped you but again, it doesn't really matter. The only thing you need to look at is whether you should have done something differently. Otherwise recognize that you got an azzhole that was capable of blowing smoke up your ass for two years. That's what you need to look at, was this gu a douche and you just refused to see it

Dear Dove,
I have a question for YOU! What is it you do not understand? WHY he dropped you in ALABAMA in the pouring rain? Is that really your question? I hope you read the replies to your post!
Why do YOU think he did this?
Did you ever gather up someone's belongings and drop them off, NOWHERE?
This sounds like the CREEPIEST, MOST ABUSIVE, HORRIBLE, man....
Now, what is it you're confused about? He cares very much for you, you say. How do the people who don't like you, treat you? Don't you DARE, even SPEAK to this man EVER AGAIN! Stay as far away from him as is humanly possible and speak to a therapist IMMEDIATELY! Look honey, it's simple, that guy is CRAZY. You, got out of the car, alone, on the side of the road, no phone, no money...WHERE ARE YOU? CALL A THERAPIST!!! Right NOW! This is...pitiful....NO REALLY! You NEED HELP! TODAY! Don't you dare call that crazy man or have anything else to do with him. GET HELP! I wish I had a number for you to call. You need a hospital. Seriously, you need to be in a hospital. GET SOME HELP! You need to call 911. Just say, I really need someone to come get me and help me RIGHT NOW, just say, I need HELP! Tell them your THOUGHTS, that'll get a response IMMEDIATELY.
I feel so sorry for you. I promise, that 911 call will be the best thing you ever did for yourself.

I would have to ask why YOU had no phone or money or anyone to call. You could have just left his home when he started packing your stuff. You did not have to go all the way to Alabama with him.
I would consider the relationship dead and try to cut off all contact with him.

.....And what did YOU do?
If I lived with a guy and he woke up one morning and began to pack my stuff I sure as hell would have some questions BEFORE we left the building. Chances are it would not be me leaving the building!
Something in your story doesn't sit right with me. We have

You don't have to understand. You just have to move on. Someone that truely cared about you would not just dump you off somewhere. Creep!!!

Wow. If someone did that to me, I'd go immediately to the POF forums and ask complete strangers why this man behaved thusly. Right!
He's history. Work on yourself. Improve yourself. Make yourself the best person you can possibly be. You can!
1. Get a job. I don't care where you are, there's jobs available. They may have you doing menial grunt-work, but you gotta have some income.
2. Keep the job.
3. Don't even THINK about getting into another relationship until you've got your sh!t together.

All your missing is to be pregnant and giving birth in a walmart and your life has the makings of a movie.

I would recomend you find higher quality of men in the future. If you give away all your power to another human being in life they will always find a way to disapoint you and abuse that power granted them.

At your age it can be used as a lesson learned.... Oh and by the way this guy does NOT love you.... you don't do that to someone you love.

I have loved before and I do not care what was going on..... I would never consider dumping someone side the road. That is just idiotic.

Like others have said.. your pretty cute... should not have too hard of a time finding a better man than this dirtbag.

Your profile indicates you thrive on instability and excitement. In a way, he was just providing you your hearts desire.

"dropping me on the side of the road with no cash, phone, money, family or friends in the area and all of my bags in the pouring rain"

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Shame on him for treating any human being for any reason in such a manner.

If you risk him ever doing that to you again by getting back with him, shame on you. You deserve better than a person ever capable of such behavior.

Someone tell the OP that this is what usually happens when you date Colin Farrell. I heard most of the time he gives the girls a roll of quarters though, too bad.

Dovetail.. So, lets not even think about going back to a man who would leave you in the middle of nowhere.. How'd that happen anyway? Did he say lets go for a drive with all your possessions, you all innocent with that and went along for the ride? (lots of middle info missing in your story)

You're profile is a blaring example of how words in an online personal ad can be nowhere near describe the truth about a person.. Did you have a PR Rep write your profile? Because it is the complete opposite to who you actually are.

Now.. brutality aside:
Where are your parents darl'n? You're 23 years old.. Old enough to be on your own but still young enough to need some loving guidance. If your story is real, then you do need some professional help, if nothing else do that for yourself.. Go to your nearest emergency department and breakdown there.. They'll see to it that you at least get yourself stabalized and hopefully some ongoing psych. counceling.

Try to be strong and don't go back to this man.. realize that anyone who loved you, even if he broke up with you because of crazy stuff going on.. he wouldn't do to you what he did.

I know he still cares very much for me and I still care very much for him,
Well, you're half right.. You still care for him because only because you're mentally unable to wrap your mind around how abusive he can be and that you deserve better.. I'm sorry to say but one of you sounds B/Polar.. you're both definately co-dependent and the relationship is dysfunctional... Get help and don't return for both your sakes.

I have a 24 year old daughter and stories like your's are very sad indeed.

OP, you joined this site at the beginning of March so I gather there were problems even then. You are listed as single and dating.
Any man that WANTED to do to me what he did to you wouldn't have gotten me into his truck in the first place. "No!!" is allowed to be voiced loudly.
Also, I would never be in a position of having no money, no phone and no means. This is 2009, why were you in that position? "Helpless female" is no longer in style.
Now, he's "missing" you and "torn up" ....and YOU ask us WHY he dumped you in Alabama?? Why don't you ask him? We don't know.
Something doesn't add up. Cornball as all H.

He's friggin' crazy and sorry to say, you are crazy to think he still cares for you. No what he was having was either a moment of horniness and couldn't find a piece of booty or a guilty attack.

did he do the right thing? Uhhhhh.............No.

Not to be really mean but, have you ever thought about seeing a therapist to help you sort out your relationship issues?
