| Spending 5000 points for a colored background [CLOSED Thread] Posted: 6/5/2009 2:55:18 PM | I spent 5000 points for a colored background and everyone tells me it is not showing up when they click on my profile. Also it is not showing the "colored box" around my picture in profile search....
If I am spending that kind of points to make my profile appear more visable to others, I would think that it would at least show up.
What gives? | |

| Spending 5000 points for a colored background Posted: 6/5/2009 3:10:35 PM | You dont get a "serious member upgrade" for the 5000 points so you dont get the colored box in profile search you just get the profile skin.
And yes you have a profile skin showing on your profile. Its like rose petals or something??

| Spending 5000 points for a colored background Posted: 6/5/2009 4:58:50 PM | Yep....that is seemingly what you get.
I choose the beach scene.....'cause I am a beachy Fla kind of girl....I was expecting some variation of that picture....but no.... just got a light blue background.
Why do they bother with the different pictures then?
Hey Marcus....was this was of your marketing/psychological experiments.... ...?
PS: OP, when I viewed your profile, I see a rose colored background but no graphics, rose petals or otherwise.

| Spending 5000 points for a colored background Posted: 6/5/2009 5:12:30 PM | ^^ how much of the profile skin you can see depends on your screen resolution. On your beach thing I see some beach chairs on the beach on my laptop.
It seems you may not be able to see YOUR OWN profile skin when you upgrade but others can based on a number of other posts here.

| Spending 5000 points for a colored background Posted: 6/5/2009 6:04:35 PM | no. you can definitely see your own skin; i can see mine.
if one's browser window is open to max size, and the user can't see the skin, then it is a problem with their settings for resolution.

| Spending 5000 points for a colored background Posted: 6/5/2009 7:08:39 PM | Cowboy..... you are a genius......
It was my screen resolution..... had to bump it up past 10x7 to see the graphics.
I now have slivers of the beachy scene down both sides of my screen (but only when I view my own profile... not visible in the forums or when I am viewing other profiles). So that's what a skin means....
Like the picture and the colors, but the settings vastly reduce the text size, etc., etc. In my mature beauty stage, I may not be able to live with having to squint to read the text.
Which is more important - - - parts of pretty pictures or the stories.....LOL.....?
Have to play with some of the other settings.
Thanks! | |

Ahhh... Had I known that I would have saved my 5000 points. I could have went Christmas shopping later on......

| Spending 5000 points for a colored background Posted: 6/5/2009 7:34:18 PM | | Wonder if our profile pages will ever be set up similar to Myspace...you can see the different layouts and skins very well on that site (mine included)...but on here I can't see anyon'es skin..just a tiny little bit around the outer edge. | |

| Spending 5000 Points for a Colored Background Posted: 6/5/2009 11:23:19 PM | | My resolution is set to 800 by 600 on an older Sony 15 inch CRT monitor. For me to see any of the image that surrounds a profile, I can reduce the Page Zoom below 100% in my web browser, Opera. The zoom is easily controlled with the + and - keys on the numeric keypad. | |

| Spending 5000 points for a colored background Posted: 6/6/2009 3:53:21 AM | Just figured out my problem.....I added a picture and all margins show pinl now the nice way.
If I remove and show no picture, then I still have the problem of not all areas showing the pink shade.!!!
Im happy now.
