| Florida Holiday for singles? Posted: 6/13/2009 5:24:36 AM | Hi all,
I'm considering going to Florida later this year (Sept-Oct 2009) for a holiday for 2 weeks.
Ideally located around the Disney parks area, even possibly staying in one of said parks hotels.
Anyhow after a doing a quick Google for singles holidays Florida I didn't turn up much, so does anyone know or recommend any travel companies catering for single travellers? Ideally where I could meet and socialise with other singles.
Or is Florida just not the place to go if you are single? :)
Thanks | |

| Florida Holiday for singles? Posted: 6/17/2009 9:33:09 PM | I go to florida every year for a trade show in oct. Orlando area is pretty much a family oriented area...I normally stay at timeshare places where they have organized activities. You may want to try gate-1 travel for singles. I've met people taking the casino cruise...it leaves some mornings & mostly in the evenings. In the disney area try Pleasure Island they have lots of restaurants and bars/nightclubs. Try contacting some POF in the area for advice. Have fun. | |

Or go to Central America.
Cheers! | |

| Florida Holiday for singles? Posted: 7/3/2009 8:24:01 AM | | There is a small area in Kissimmee called Old Town. Basically a group of small shops, restaurants , and small bars. They have local car shows on Friday and Saturday nights and most places stay open until the wee hours. Also some amusement rides there. Usually there are a fair number of people there including singles. A fun place to spend some time, have a few beers, maybe do some dancing. | |
|
| Florida Holiday for singles? Posted: 7/3/2009 8:50:05 AM | I stayed in Kissimmee years ago when I went with my family (parents+brother).
Anyhow it looks like none of my friends can or want to go to Florida, so I'll probably go somewhere closer to the UK if I'm going on my own. Possibly one of the canary islands or portugal?
Thanks | |

Withing driving distance West: Tampa's downtown or Ybor City districts.

| Florida Holiday for singles? Posted: 7/10/2009 8:39:43 AM | Orlando has a large influx of tourist, so it can be a lot of fun for singles. If you enjoy nightlife, you should check out Citywalk at Universal or Downtown Orlando. Also Mercado (I think it is called) on I-Drive has some fun spots. Check the forums for POF parties when you will be in the area. Then there is always the beach. Check out Milkens or Grills at Port Canaveral or Coconuts on Cocoa Beach.
I would recommend coming more towards October, as September is the end of Hurricane season and is often the worst month for Hurricanes. October is great!

| Florida Holiday for singles? Posted: 10/10/2009 4:31:03 AM | I was wondering what areas of Florida, have the most storms? I don't want to travel and then have a storm show up..
What has been your experience with the weather patterns throughout the state?
|
| Florida Holiday for singles? Posted: 10/16/2009 9:21:39 AM | I live in South Florida It's impossible to say one area has more storms than another. Until the end of November, it's hurricane season and you just never know when one is going to appear and where it'll hit. | |
|
| Florida Holiday for singles? Posted: 10/25/2009 5:46:27 PM | | Come to Tampa Bay in late July early August if you want to see thunderstorms at 430pm. We get fantastic thunderstorms. When I fly out I always book my flights as early in the morning as possible and return after 9pm to avoid the storms. | |

| Florida Holiday for singles? Posted: 10/26/2009 7:23:50 PM | | Discovery Cruise Lines on Fort Lauderdale. They do a bahamas cruise for about 150.00, and then go to Busch Gardens. If you are looking for nightlife, then try Downtown Disney, or, Key West. Be aware you need a passport card (about 50.00) to go to the bahamas now. | |
