What a hoot! I've never been hit in the head so many time by a beach ball nor laughed so hard at so many things.
The Beach Balls and birthday cakes were definitely flying! The birthday celebration was a hoot. Happy Birthday again to our regulars Justus, Patoi, QMC, Kingrock & Fundaddy. Thanks to all that helped with that.

Sean.. what can I say, You really know how to get out there and shake your booty! I have never danced so much at an event as I did last night. I hope you enjoyed yourself and decide to be a regular at our events.
In closing, I just want to say, it doesn't matter if you are younger, older, shy, out going, or any other category you want to put yourself in.....You come to a Sidelines event, you go home with a smile on your face and new found friendships! You can't get any better than that..... Isn't LIFE grand! | |

Beach BALLS! Yeah, great ... so many balls flying through the air spilled my beer and lordy knows ... do not mess with my beer!
My elbow is sore ... I cannot prop myself up at the beach to read!!!! Yowza! I also cannot quit singing that dopey song ... but I changed the words to kissed a boy and I liked it!
Justus ... what would you do without Crokster! There would be no one to pick on ... I can still build a mighty fine terlet!

Hey, it is a beautiful day! I was out at the beach … and I was thinking …
this might be a stretch (as most of you know that I am
pretty much a loner and not much for organized anything
… except my own life! Lol) but is anyone up for maybe starting
The “Let it all hang out … No hard bodies allowed” club.
Where: The Headlands (Mentor, far left side of beach)
When: Sundays as long as the weather holds up
Time: Open house at the beach … starting at say around 10:00
What: Beach Ball Volley Ball (Need to bring the ball, Red)
(great bike trip!)
What Else: Reading
What Else: Walking on the shore line
What Else: Collecting Rocks and Driftwood! Duh!
What Else: Laughter
What Else: Relaxation
What Else: Some great shots … there were about 30 sailboats
grouped together on the lake last weekend … really neat looking!
What Else: Catch up on sleep lost being at events!!!
What Else: We can roast weenies or go to eat after!
If we switch to Saturdays, and we have interest and volunteers
I might even have a cookout/campout at my tiny little house!
I know I am there most nice days … hope some of you come out!

Posted: 6/14/2009 5:55:37 PM | All I can say is what others have described. Last night was definitely fun! Breakfast was a hoot too! All I can say is that I'll probably not be getting the steak and eggs again.
Crok - I'm up for any of the abovementioned activities. You post and I'll be there! I could use a nice outdoors activity, but I'm not real keen on camping. It's been so long since I've done that I'm afraid it'd be a nightmare for me to do it again. Whirlieball was suggested as a weekend activity and aside from the price and need for committment of numbers up front, it sounds like it'd be a blast.

I would think that if I closed my eyes everybody there turned back the clock at least 20 years. You would think a bunch of us that are over 40 would not act like we do but it is a good thing. Everybody is so much the party animals. Nobody cares about how they look or how act they just have a great time. Keep up the good work Red and everybody that helps out at the party. Who ever said we don't know how to have fun? What a wild night. The balls added tons off fun. I bet the ball will still be in the ceiling next month.
DJ Jim did another Great job packing the floor with all the great music. It was even packed more then ever at last call.
And the Hoagie Boys officially have competition. The ladies got together and hoagied then men a few times. They fell victim....and loved it!
Sorry to dodge out on the breakfast club. I wasn't feeling good and had to leave. Maybe we should call the in advance so they can bring another guy on for the shift that night.
It was great seeing everyone and can't wait til the next get together!

Maybe we should do balloons instead (they're not as heavy and won't knock over the drinks). Sorry about the drinks as helping everyone to have more fun is a learning experience. I did see a few things that I was embarassed to witness, that didn't belong at one of our parties but rather behind closed doors. A few people approached me who thought it was inappropriate and I was embarassed because I could not defend those actions. I am all for having fun but try to be a little more discrete at future parties. Let's not scare new people away. | |
