| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 6/15/2009 10:22:17 AM | Lesnar vs Mir GSP vs Alves Hendo vs Bisping
...hmmmm who will win? In my perfect world...Mir sidesteps the freight train and takes the belt GSP out classes Alves everywhere and Bisping gets a big ole shot right in the mouth that sends him down to 170....
...but somehow I don't think it's gonna be as simple as that...let the rediculousness begin...

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 6/15/2009 2:34:59 PM | lol as a Brit I'll be cheering Bisping on
Haven't seen any of Hendersons fights though so I don't know what to expect.
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 6/15/2009 11:09:59 PM | All three of those fights should be very competitive. I want to say Hendo is the biggest favorite of the bunch. I'm not convinced Bisping is elite quite yet. He goes the distance with Rashad, but also goes the distance with Chris Leben, and Hamill probably got robbed against The Count.
Lesnar vs Mir. Man. I guess I give the edge to Lesnar. He's got a great work ethic, takes his UFC belt and MMA in general very seriously, and should be way way better than the first time they fought. A lot of people called the first fight, that Brock, being a newbie, would get caught in a kneebar by Mir. He's not going to make that mistake again and he had Mir in some serious trouble early on. Likewise, I don't think Mir is going to get caught off guard by Brock's sheer athleticism again. I don't see Mir getting him in a rear naked or a knee bar, and it's probably physically impossible to triangle a guy as big as Brock, and I think Fedor is the only guy in the world who could apply an arm submission on Brock... So I guess Mir is going to try to outbox him? I'm going to be excited for this one. Can't wait.
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 6/16/2009 1:21:52 AM | You never know....there is always the possibility of Mir outstriking Lesnar...Brock shitting his pants when he gets hit...and then he f*cks up....Mir isn't really an elite striker...but the only thing that Brock has shown is that he can dominate on sheer size alone...a superior technician can and will shut him down eventually.....
As far as GSP Alves goes...there's sooooo many little factors to wonder about....I think Alves is being hyped up a wee bit too much for this one....sure he's definately the most "dangerous" striker that GSP has faced...but that's just about it in my opinion. They say oh he's so strong....why? cuz he's a lil **** who can't hack middleweight so he cuts a rediculous amount? He'll have 10 lbs on GSP....don't mean he'll be stronger than GSP....my bold prediction? 2nd or 3rd round kimura or arm bar...GSP takes it....
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 6/16/2009 3:22:34 PM | I think Henderson will win over Bisping. Mike is very good, but I don't think he has quite gotten to Dan's level. But I think Bisping will put up a good fight. Hendo by decision.
I don't think that Alves is all that compared to GSP. I expect GSP to win easily by GnP.
Mir vs Lesnar. If Lesnar doesn't win in the first round by KO, Mir will submit him.
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 6/16/2009 6:48:36 PM | | Watching the Couture fight again, any high hopes for Brock is predicated on him having improved a lot. Couture might be sturdier in the clinch than Mir, but Mir is just a flat out bigger guy, and smaller Couture was doing quite well at preventing Brock's superior size from dictating the fight... until he got caught. Brock's chin is looking pretty good. He's got a big head, big jaw, and thick neck. But Mir is super confident, maybe he knows something... | |

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 6/18/2009 12:59:12 PM | I don't know much about Frank Mir, except the fact he's a tank. Stand up, lesnar will win, but if he's good on the ground, Lesnar will lose
Thiago Alves dominates The Rush
Bisping beats Henderson
I wanna see Stephan Bonnar, I hope his fight gets televised

Thiago Alves dominates The Rush
That's a bold prediction! I can't see it going that way myself, and would consider that a GIANT upset. I mean, "dominates?" Do you know something that the rest of us don't?

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 6/18/2009 7:26:25 PM | In other fights: I expect Stephan Bonnar to stick-and-move with great success against Mark Coleman, causing "The Hammer" to gas and get TKO'd by the second round.
I can't wait to see how much CB Dollaway has matured since his TUF run in his match against Tom Lawlor.
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 6/18/2009 8:04:44 PM | | henderson over bisping due to superior wrestling. gsp will probably break alves but it will be a tough one, and lesnar will beat mir thats my opinion | |
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 6/19/2009 12:48:58 PM | | Coleman, Kerr, and Shamrock... these guys really show you how far MMA has come. Sure, Kerr and Coleman aren't spring chickens, and their style relied heavily upon brute strength and ferocity, but I guess that's my point: now that they're older and must rely more on skill, you see that there's really not a lot of skill there. Coleman doesn't seem to have evolved at all in the past 15 years. Compare that to a guy like Randy Couture. Anyway. | |
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 6/19/2009 6:44:44 PM | GSP wins. Lesnar wins, to our amazement. Size matters. Bisping beats Hendo on a split decision. I agree with whats been said about Henderson being a class above Bisping technically, but I think Bisping has better striking. Bonnar destroys Coleman. Coleman is too slow, out of practice, and i hate to say it, old to beat Bonnar. Bonnar has never impressed me, he hasnt seemed to evolve like Florien has. | |
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 6/19/2009 9:44:08 PM | | Okay I've got GSP, Henderson and Lesner, as much as I don't like Lesner for his unsportsmanlike conduct he will win. He is just to big! | |
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 6/19/2009 11:58:10 PM |
Lesnar wins, to our amazement. Size matters. In the heavyweight class, size more often than not doesn't seem to matter. Maybe I'm mostly thinking of Fedor....
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 6/20/2009 12:07:19 PM | Mir is 6'1" 240 pounds. Brock is 6'2" 265, so the size difference won't be as pronounced as against Couture.
If I had to bet money, I would pick Mir.
Brock is still a huge question mark. He goes the distance with Herring, who is arguably not even top 20 among heavyweights, and lost a round against Couture before knocking him down. Not that I'm completely convinced the fight against Nog was the dawning of a whole new Mir.
Brock against somebody like Josh Barnett, I'd bet the house on Barnett. Still waiting to see how good Brock really is.
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 6/20/2009 12:14:05 PM | Brock was about to kill Mir in their first fight till he retardedly left his leg in, that's what lack of experience will do.
And if Mir thinks he can stand and box with Lesnar the way he did with Big Nog, he's done.
Mir pretty much needs to catch a submission in their first fight or he loses.
GSP dominates Alves
Henderson beats Bisping
Fitch over Thiago
Akiyama over Belcher
No matter what happens, the fans lose between Coleman and Bonnar
Miller over Danzig
Stun Gun over Grant
Jones over O'Brien in a fight that they'll probably be looking for a spot to air during the main card.
CB over Lawlor
Gugerty over Grice | |

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 6/22/2009 8:45:12 PM | | Thing this card is much better then the last few they have put on. Dana is trying to get as much exposure as quickly as he can with all these pay per views being done almost every month! I would like to see Henderson win, but he may be past his prime. Not a big GSP fan but he is damn good! toss up for the big boys! | |

| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 6/26/2009 2:49:17 AM | I really hope Mir gets his belt back.. I love a good comeback.. He looked really good with Nog.. even though Big Nog is my guy!!! Everything was so right down the pipe... After his accident he looked like shit.. I was wondering why he was wearing a fat suit.. If anyone deserves it he does....but then Nog is gonna go get it again!! after he tears through Randy.. Nah.. it will be a close fight but ya.. Nog will win.. Even though I though Lesner pretty much dominated him the first time.. Hopefully he will have some new tricks.. If blockhead wins I will be depressed... | |
|
| UFC 100 Let the speculation begin Posted: 6/28/2009 8:05:33 AM | Totally agree, Mir's uppercut was devastating to Nogera. His skills have improved greatly. Considering he was told he would never fight in the UFC again, after his bike crash, his story is compelling. Mir's ground game is impressive and his submissions are deadly. Even though Brock Lesnars went to school in my home state, I got to root for Mir all the way. My pics: Mir : St-Pierre : Thiago : Bisbing : Belcher : Colman : Danzig : Grant : Jones : Dollaway : Grice! | |
