| Profile Turn off's
Posted: 6/16/2009 5:32:38 AM | What are some of the turn offs we/you see in profiles that will automatically make you pass on to the next one??
I have a couple.. When I see a number of pics in a profile and every one seems to have been taken in a bar with booze on the table in every photo.. makes me wonder what kind of drinking problem the person has.. I ask myself , are they on the perpetual party mode??
Only 1 pic and its a small face pic.. I have been fooled a couple of times by people with a small pic that dont show very much and the description is vague.. then when you actually meet you realise that to them average is 70 lbs over weight.. Now before you start calling me shallow Hal.. its all about attraction no?? So BBW does nothing for me as far as a mate but I have "large friends" and have no problem in that respect..
When they talk about thier likes and all they talk about it wanting meet some one to travel to all these exotic destinations..
CASINOS well thats one I will not read any further on.. need I say more??

So I looked at her profile and her idea of an ideal first date was a Broadway show and dinner in some famous theater district restaurant that I can't remember the name of... she said she was "Assistant CEO" of some Fortune 500 company, whatever that means... so I asked her if we at least get to take a limo to Starbucks ....
So other than those obvious kind of materialistic people, the biggest turn-offs for me are when they don't have much to say about themselves....they don't give you any clues about what you might ask them...usually they are very attractive and because of the sad state of men in general they're usually on 3 or 400 favorite lists...which is another turn off! | |

Do ya think she could have found some one by now??? Those ones really make me move on to the next one..im wondering if they are the serial daters.. and meal goers.. Hey if you accepted a dinner invite 4 times a week you could eat well and save a load of money.. Just a thought and no! I am not painting all with the same brush BUT................. | |

Im sorry But Im not suprised why you guys are still single look how you are talking and look how you are saying about women.
You Need to understand too that POF is not only a Dating site. Its also a Site to meet New People and Friends or Hang Out its not Only for Dating. Women Dont Pick their Favorites Men Do, and Im sure half the Favorites that add her she doesnt even talk to so You cannot Judge a women Because of how many Favorites she has thats just plain Dumb.

Posted: 6/19/2009 2:04:24 AM | Is judging others on being judgmental...being judgmental?  Do not judge lest ye be judged...not that anyone is "perfect"...life has become incredibly judgmental...and often out of pure preservation based on experiences from the past.
I guess if someone didn't want to read a post about judging "turn offs", then don't read it. And everyone has the right to restrict their opportunities based on expectations.....not that I don't.....no one is a "clean slate", but I accept the responsibility of doing so. I can't complain about being alone if I choose to limit my opportunities by judging others on past experiences.
I tend to see both sides of most debates which can make some things a bit more complicated in getting to know me....I imagine....but I also hope that people will view me as being more "balanced" as well.
Maybe I'll post later on my "turn offs" or "pet peeves".....right now....I spent two hours watching a comedian that I really didn't care for...just because I liked listening to the other people laugh. I need to analyze this behavior...was I a "wet blanket"?...should I have used my time otherwise?...and would I do this again? Hmmm.....  LOL | |

Posted: 6/19/2009 2:55:44 AM | Whenever I see a profile that only says "ask me" or something like "hey I hate writing these things, so message me if you want to know more!"I immediately pass it up. There's nothing there to work with in a message you know?
Also, just a pet peeve of mine, but if they're a smoker, even if it's "occasionally," I pass it up too.
Oh and if they're taller than me also. lol, all the cute ones are always like 5'9! Sucks for short guys like me | |

Other things that will keep me from contacting some one is if they live too far, are too young and if they smoke. Also the world travelers. I would love to travel but I don't have that kind of money and wouldn't expect someone else to pay my way...unless I am married to them or close to it! Also...people that don't use correct grammer turn me off and if they can't at least spell the simple words...like dropping the "e" from smile before adding "ing"
My turn on list is longer than my turn off list. | |

Posted: 6/19/2009 9:07:53 AM | They really need a turnoffs section in people's profiles. I think it's every bit as useful to know what someone DOESN't want as what they do want. I've even put my own list of turnoffs in my profile for this purpose.
As far as turnoffs about how a person has done their profile, I agree that 50+ favorites comes across as shallow...agreed that most women don't want to be added to people's favorites lists, but a little upkeep whenever logged in takes care of this. For a guy, if I see someone is on 275 favorites lists I get the message that it's more a popularity contest than a serious search for companionship (assuming that's what their profile says it's looking for, I mean). I've seen several women's profiles who state plainly not to add them to favorites, and if they do, it will be deleted and the user blocked rom her profile. That info goes a long way to impressing me that the woman actually is serious, and not looking for unwanted attentions.
The other turnoff for me is seeing a long laundry list of sports and activities (running, soccer, hockey, biking, kayaking, rock climbing, working out, marathons, yadda yadda...) and saying that they're "very active and want the same in a date". That's an Activity Partner, not a date. | |

~Gang signs in pics, gangs are so not cool and they are so 1990's..Since when was violence cool anyways?

Posted: 6/19/2009 12:20:29 PM | What turns me off is pretty obvious, as much as I enjoy seeing people have fun, too many "in the bar" pictures annoy me because then it makes me think "Does this person drink excessively?" I don't want a heavy drinker what so ever so I just go to the next.
Horribly Distorted Pictures -- If you can't find a good one in your collection, then take a new one. It's that simple; need help? Ask a friend or family member. Speaking of pictures, I also hate how they'll upload pictures of years ago and then when you finally meet up they look totally different. It's scary when that happens because you start to worry if you're going to be kidnapped or even killed. At least it's that way for me. 
POOR SPELLING/GRAMMAR -- I cannot stress over this enough. Though I am not expecting perfect sentences every time because hell, I make mistakes of my own, but when guys use shorthand then it makes me think that they're an idiot, even if I'm totally off. If it's used in a humorous fashion then I love it, but otherwise?
and commander cool brings up a good point that I didn't think about adding. The words "ASK ME" is just screaming "I don't want to be here!" or, "I'm too lazy!" | |

Yes you can judge how a women is by her size or how many favorite's she's on. Why doesn't the women just delete the favorites? Oh right, I forgot - It's because her time is so precious, as she's too busy deleting messages with out replying to them. It;'s a bigger ego stroke to see 200+ favorites than 0. Women on here don't send out message because they think they're better than everyone else. I bet most women if not all they're their better then they're actually worth. Women whine and complain about guys flexing their muscles, or on the beach with their shirts off, and in front of the mirrors. Yet when you see their photos, all you see is them doing stupid fish lips, bending over so you see their boobs, or partying it up with their girls.

I dont care if you correct me just means i learned something that day. As far as the hieght / height ( pick one which ever is rite) I have always been short and always will be, so on to the next thing i can fix. And as far as bending and showing boobs, You dont give a damn when you go to Hooters do ya Double standard get over it women have them ( thank god if i had them i would never leave the house lol) Lets just concentrate on being nice to one another maybe then we would see things different | |

also another big turn off that cannot be helped my myself is when women are taller than me. | |
