| Meeting people who enjoy the outdoors/nature Posted: 6/17/2009 2:56:24 PM | I am wondering where good spots are to meet women who enjoy nature and the outdoors in real life. Between women I have talked to in RL and profiles here, I have heard and seen that a lot of women claim to like the outdoors and nature.
In reality they are rarely seen by me in nature, and when I do they are unapproachable. The last one I saw in fact was walking on the path near where I was fishing but had a can of mace pointed in my direction. That seemed to be a good hint to stay away.
Now either my idea of nature and the outdoors is very wrong, or the nature loving women all get together at secret outdoor locations planned when they head to the bathroom in groups. I am curious about this one but its more important to find locations to meet single nature lovers in real life.

Wild animal rehab centers always in need of volunteers. From taking care of animals,to building cages and fences,to public outreach, there is always something that needs to be done. Boy Scouts need volunteers to teach boys how to camp, backpack, survival skills, kayaking etc
Good Luck | |

It has come to my attention that the definition of nature I was using was incorrect with that of the ladies. We may enjoy wild creatures and nature for different reasons. Upon first sight of a critter my thoughts run "wow" then "d'oh its out of season" or "Yes its in season and soon to be supper"
I do have the boy scout skills but unless things have changed drastically since I was a teenager very few single moms put there sons into the program :(

Don't tell me you have been going up to strange women who are alone in the woods! I would be terrified if that happened.
No. I may be dense at times but I am not stupid. A quick hello or good day if they approach the area I am in so I don't startle them.

| Meeting people who enjoy the outdoors/nature Posted: 6/17/2009 8:18:25 PM | Check out Meet-Up's in your area. www.meetup.com
They have groups for topics, like hiking.. it is a safe place for women to go and hike with a group and meet folks who like the same thing.
just be relaxed and don't act like you are there to pick up a chick, just let it happen naturally

| Meeting people who enjoy the outdoors/nature Posted: 6/17/2009 11:19:32 PM | If your idea of nature is strictly hunting, then get out to the shooting range, some women do enjoy target practise. Hee hee... Our idea of the great outdoors and nature is shooting the critters with a camera.
Look for outdoorsy activities posted on profiles. Hiking, biking, running, canoeing, skiing, surfing, snow boarding, swimming...you know what I mean...or you could try to date Sarah Palin's daughters!

| Meeting people who enjoy the outdoors/nature Posted: 6/18/2009 7:34:56 AM | I love to fish but have no desire to hunt land dwelling critters. I'm not opposed to it, enjoy eating wild game, and know how to shoot firearms, but would prefer not to hunt if I don't have to. I met my bf online... and we're going primitive camping this weekend BTW. Haven't done that in at least 5 years. Hope my body can still handle it. Good luck with your | |

| Meeting people who enjoy the outdoors/nature Posted: 10/14/2009 3:43:57 AM | | We are indoors preparing your meals, cleaning your house, taking care of your children, washing your sox and probably cleaning your outdoor toys. How do men think these chores get done...only by men after they don't have someone to do them. | |

| Meeting people who enjoy the outdoors/nature Posted: 10/14/2009 5:43:22 AM | | Check out your local/neighborhood newspapers, runners shop (where they sell sneakers, etc...), and bike shops. They usually have fliers/brochures where they have outings/clubs. | |

| Meeting people who enjoy the outdoors/nature Posted: 10/14/2009 6:16:57 AM | | When I am out at parks, campgrounds, tennis courts, beaches, etc I see tons of women. Maybe it's my region, but I doubt it. Chances are that's where they are - not online or in bars or clubs. You'll have to go where they are to find em. They can't ALL be unapproachable. | |

I'm still waiting, and the clock is ticking.
