Posted: 6/21/2009 11:46:22 PM | Talking with a couple of single mates a few nights ago, we got onto the topic of dating and the discussion turned to whether we would actually date ourselves .
Obviously we all know ourselves better then anyone else (well we are supposed to at least), So my question is knowing yourself as well as you do...would you date you or someone very like you?
If you would.....why?
And if you wouldn't...why not?
I have to admit, that if im totally honest I would not date myself in a pink fit. Im a loony, lazy, frigid,vain, commitment phobe who would be far too high maintenance for me to put up with.
Now im never gonna get dated or laid again...ever.....over to you lot! | |

Apparently Im difficult, complex, annoying, mouthy, oppinionated, anal, quirky and I leave half finished drinks in their glass and put them back in the fridge (I think this is perfectly normal) ...actually I have a whole lot of flaws that have been neatly catergorised in alpha order by my ex.......feel free to flip thru them all...
Having said that..Im generous, have a big heart, Im funny, self deprecating, and I hope that I am kind and tolerant, except for tossers !!!
Woud I date me....??...Yeah Id give me a shot....marry me though...doubt it...I can barely live with myself...................................why am I even on this site ??? Ah yes one always lives in hope !!!

Because I've grown up and learned all my lessons, got my sh1t together and know what I want. And that love, sh1t? I had that....know the real deal...anything else is substandard and same old, same old...I deserve it! I know I do. When I ever find that stuff, I'm holding on and work my hardest to keep it....not about to take anything for granted ever again.

I listen to others and try to help where I can.

Posted: 6/22/2009 9:01:30 AM | Well the easiest answer is for me is saying the one thing that scares me about my daughter when she gets around to dating is her running into someone who was like me at her age. The more i have learned about myself, and other people the better i have become as a person. But my biggest strengths have also been my greatest weaknesses, compassion and trust. Would I date someone who understood me yes! Would I date me, probably not mainly because I think that kind of relationship would require different qualities to compliment it, and make it better. Thats the somewhat serious answer from me.
The unserious one!
Oh lord its hard to be humble, when your perfect in every way. Err right. I think I would spend more time spanking myself than I do now. | |
