| How far would you drive for a date? Posted: 6/22/2009 8:42:45 PM | | First date... how far would you drive? Let's face it, Kansas is a big wide open wheat field with a few small towns spread across it. We meet people online from other towns. What is your limit on how far you'd drive for a first date? or a subsequent date? to see a regular Boy/Girlfriend? Distance is a big issue here in the Sunflower State, so I was just curious how far others have or would drive for dating? | |

Seriously though, the reality of it is, for many people, myself included, if you have to drive very far to see someone, it takes some of the spontaneity out of it. It's not practical to pine to see someone and they live an hour or two or three away.

To me, an hour is not that far. People that live in the city drive an hour to commute to work and back every day. So I think that driving that far for a date, depending on the person, is worth it. Especially if the two people hit it off and get along well. :)

Posted: 7/21/2009 12:43:41 AM | | Sure, an hour's not so bad if the dates are going well, but I personally find it to make any failures exaggerated by the wasted time and gas money. I live in KCK and dated a girl out in St. Joseph - about an hour's trip - and it ended up not being worth the time. It's kinda bad when after only a week and a half I feel like I've bombed some sort of investment. Additionally, the long distance tends to reduce your ability to just randomly see the person, as mentioned earlier, and you might not get to see them all that often. Plus the drive cuts into the time you get to spend with them. I'd rather keep the trip under/around 45 minutes, myself.
