| Time for my semi-annual profile review Posted: 6/23/2009 6:00:44 AM | Just looking to get a bit feedback from people. My response rate is pretty bleak so there must be something in here that is offputting, not really sure what it is though. So feel free to let me know what you all think works and what doesn't and I will take it under advisement. Thanks | |

You mention humor, but I'm not seeing any evidence of it in your profile - perhaps you could lead in with some humor to hook the reader?
Add hiking, swimming and gym to your interests? Beyond that I'm not sure what else to suggest - I'm sure the ladies will pitch in sooner or later (you go first, I'm looking at you) ;)
I'm part of the lengthy-profile club and get plenty of interest. I run greater than 3/1 on contacting me first - granted, most of them aren't getting more than a polite thank you from me, but still. I don't think verbosity is the issue - just reads rather plainly.

It feels a bit wrong though, almost offensive; I usually need some sort of context to be funny. Anyway, thanks for the feedback, I'd like to hear some more from everyone.

Perhaps provide a hook as a headline and lead it into something humorous. Then you can keep your commentary about being more than text and pixels.
