I don't know about you but these messages are starting to p!ss me off, why should I bother to reply to a message from someone who shows no interest in my personality and makes little effort to compose a message.
So when you're moaning about sending 100's of messages and getting read/deleted response THIS IS WHY!

i may take the time to answer if i feel someone has something to say .. or i think they may have read my profile .. if we have something in common .. or she is a hottie .... so obvioulsy i rarely answer any messages ..

Surely questions are the start of conversation, is it because you update your profile daily how your are? or is the question to closed? can't you expand on how are you today?
That type of contact message is no more than a hello I am interested in you, why can't you see if they have the ability to conversation and have substance more than the first message implies? Why do women assume a man has to do a well worded individual mail for them before they can even consider gracing them with a reply?
I have said before that I send out very few first contact messages but all the ones from women I have received are one liners, where is the equality? | |

Basically my profile tells you not to message me.... And if you get as far as my profile page the headline screams at you ... "Read the fcuking profile you idiots!!!" so there's no excuse at all for messaging me ever.... If someone is dumb enough to still message me after all that, then they deserve to be hoisted aloft by a large metal spike shoved into their fundament and roasted slowly over a pit filled with the remains of previously cooked nincompoops who messaged me.... | |

The fact that my profile is hidden means that I don't receive many messages (which was the desired outcome). I reply to most of the messages that I receive, mostly with a reasonable response. However, if the message is derogatory, obscene or a wind up.. well, my response will either be sarcastic or no reply. It's not something that bothers me much, but it does puzzle me why so many folk on here do seem to take things so personally; would they get so 'hot under the collar' if these exchanges were in person, in public?
Have a 'natter', if there's common ground or a connection great! If not, move on ...simples. | |

what you need to remember is that most of you have naf all to reply to, Its very hard to start a conversation usin naff all.

Response rates remain at around 5% for a guy with a good profile, pictures and nice introductory message. That's 19 out of 20 messages junked. Why on earth would any self-respecting individual bother? | |

At a guess 90% respond with anything from just a thank you to the full on "phone me on ............."
The 10% that don't reply are lesbians.
I then follow up with "I will be in London/Bristol/Cardiff/wherever next week. I stay in a hotel in West London/Bristol etc etc, if you give me your phone number I will contact you when I have a free evening and we can meet up in the hotel, or have a drink in the West End first." to which I guess 75% give me a phone number, the others just try and engage me in conversation, to no avail. I do phone, and meet, with a few lucky ladies, but I ignore the majority.
So it doesn't matter how crass or crap the opening message is, if you are as handsome as me you will get loads of responses from the average pof ladies, if you are an average male no matter how intriguing, interesting or captivating your message is, you will get read/deleted. | |
