Fox continues it's long tradition of misslabeling Republicans as Democrats whenever they're involved

http://mediamatters.org/blog/200906240026

This is not the first time they've done this. It's not the second or the third either. It never fails that the usual people in here defend fox as fair and balanced.

I watch Fox News just to get a different view on politics, fair and balanced is not how I would describe the Fox news team commentators, personally I think they are nothing but shock jocks feeding on a specific group of people to improve their ratings.

Their identifying some one as being from a different party does not surprise me

lol lol, once again, I have to agree that Fox news is probably the most stupid news venue on the planet, or at least on par with Iranian state television.

I seem to recall the ruckus about the Alaskan rep building his dream home with state funds or such, got caught, and Fox labelled him as (D) as well.

Jeez, I'm beginning to think they have an agenda.........

Cheers, Raven

And no other media outlet makes mistakes? LOL

I love Fox News - it's one of the few media outlets who does justice to opposing points of view... At least they aren't holding healthcare informercials for Obama like ABC did last night...

Well maybe FOX should run a Q and A program like ABC did last night and invite representatives from the insurance companies and the AMA and the health advisory staff from President Obama.

I found the program to be very interesting and loved that the private insurance business and the AMA representatives were so worried about competition from the public sector. It indictes to me that they don't think they can compete and if not then maybe they should be allowed to go bankrupt like you think that should have been the outcome for GM

I am for more govenment involvement another good place for us to invest our money in would be the oil business, that way we could set the price of oil and protect our economy from the inflation that high oil prices cause

Lets see...Fox is a rightwing based news site. ABC,CBS,NBC,MSNBC AND dozens of others are pure left wing. The left cries over ONE...ONE station when they have dozens spewing their trash?....how sweet!

I bet that Fox is happy to be the only station that is a right wing based news site, that way they have no competition and can control the majortiy of rightwinged people, maybe we should break them up to prevent a right wing monopoly, that way we could have a bunch of little competing Foxes. When I want to hear some real opposing views I turn to FOX but I mute their commercials

I really don't care about a persons political affiliation it will never influence mine, it's not the party that matters it's the merit of their stance on issues and whether I believe their position is for the good of our country.

Fox is the only right wing based news site. Again they are out numbered by the liberal news media. I wonder why it is that FOX has more viewers than CNN or any other news service?

Lets see if we can figure out why Fox has a disapportionate number of viewer's could it be that they are the only totally anti President Obama any thing, so if the election was 48% for Senator McCain to 52% for now President McCain "who just recently said that President Obama was doing a good job" it would only make sense that Fox would have a larger viewing audience.

The fact that ABC is so in the toilet for the obamas shit should prove that FOX is a needed service. Both feed their brand of politics to the masses, but I think the American people are waking up to the mistake they made in November. The next election cycle will be a devastating wipe out .. The liberals and Democrats will lose seats and power.

We all have hopes and dreams you hope that President Obama fails and in doing so takes the country down the crapper with him, I hope that he is successful and that we emerge stronger and smarter then ever before.

Maybe put a stop to the TRILLIONS in debt those of you on the left are willing to put on the people for generations. The obama has already out spent Bush by over 4 times...you bet..typical liberal tax and spend...we are screwed..this is no longer Bush's economy..this cluster fu....belongs to the obama and the dems.......

Recent history shows that inaction on the part of the Japanese government prolonged their economic woes. Had President Obama took control of the White House before the country was in economic melt down we could lay all of this at his feet since he did not I guess we can't blame him for trying to row his boat up steam without paddles most of the economist see us coming out of the recession I have no doubt we have a long way to go but at least we are moving

Trying to remove Bush, Clinton, Bush, Reagan from responsibilty for this mess is just denying reality they all contributed to where we today

I guess that's why Fox is number one. They are fairer and more balanced then any other new origination. Of course all new originations make simple mistakes. Thank for pointing this very big mistake out to us.

I'm curious how these mistakes come about? Do they accidentally hit D instead of R over and over again? If this is true, why don't they ever mislabel them as Q or K?

It's always D, and it's always a scandal.

At least they aren't holding healthcare informercials for Obama like ABC did last night...

Hey look everyone, somebody is trying to change the subject?

Lets see...Fox is a rightwing based news site. ABC,CBS,NBC,MSNBC AND dozens of others are pure left wing. The left cries over ONE...ONE station when they have dozens spewing their trash?....how sweet!

Dmotz I'm sure you could come up with several examples of the same miss reporting of Democratic members in the midst of scandal being called Republicans... right? Either that or you're just like swamp hunter, not wanting to acknowledge that misinformation is being provided.

Or might be that fox is not on there knees sucking up to obama!!

Or we know obama is already taking our country down the crapper, and wanting to stop it.......

I guess we can't blame him

We all know that former Pres. Bush will always be who the liberal blame for everything, and won't take responsibility for his tax and spend policies. .

Apparently you were out of the room or other wise occupied when the President of AMA was questioning our President and maybe again every time the ABC commentators were quizzing our President about his health care plan. I watched it all the way through it was a question and answer program with the ABC commentators picking the the people who would question our President.

Or we know obama is already taking our country down the crapper, and wanting to stop it.......

We does that include all 320 million of us? I can assure you that I don't know that so explain to me if you can how you know that our economy is going down the toilet. Did you in advance lets say in September or October or December of 08 that our country was in danger of economic collapse? If so maybe you could have told President Bush or his side kick Phil Gramm they had no idea we were in trouble.

We all know that former Pres. Bush will always be who the liberal blame for everything, and won't take responsibility for his tax and spend policies. .

Maybe it was his economic advisors who missed the boat, maybe he didn't realize when he started the war in Iraq that he was going to need money to pay for the war, you know the reality of it is that the economic mess we are in has very little impact on him or his family

Your right, I wasn't watching the obama's info commercial on ABC. Like most of America.

I watched it all the way through it was a question and answer program with the ABC commentators picking the people who would question our President.
Who do you think picked the people to be there, and there questions? Surely even you don't believe they were random people off the street?

Did you in advance lets say in September or October or December of 08 that our country was in danger of economic collapse?

Yes, I did. Back in Nov. of 2006 when the dem's took over, and reid and pelosi became leaders of Congress. I'm surprised you didn't see it coming too. Maybe if you watch Sean Hannity more.......

That's obvious if you had you would seen that some pretty tough questions were asked of our President by people who were less then happy with the idea of public health care.

If the President or the ABC network wanted to have a one sided program they would not have invited the President of the AMA or other obviously hostile people to attend, but we are off topic so lets get back to Fox News and their blatan attempts at humor or incompetence or an attempt to smear the democractic party by identifying Republicans as Democrats.

I do watch Fox News, opinions that differ from my own help me to make good decisions,

In other words you have no idea what was actually on the show, you're just making assumptions. Assumptions so you can avoid facing the fact that Fox is lying about scandals to make Republicans look better.

Lying OBVIOUSLY.

Fox is the only right wing based news site. Again they are out numbered by the liberal news media.

They are all right wing...Fox is the leading edge. Remember 9/11? Every single news report was all pro-war...few, if any, questions were asked...no background...no history...and they were all embedded....hell of a way to run a war...very smart on there part.

The lack of diversity in ownership helps explain the lack of diversity in the news. When George W. Bush first came to power, the media watchers Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR) looked at who appeared on the evening news on ABC, CBS and NBC. Ninety-two percent of all U.S. sources interviewed were white, 85 percent were male, and where party affiliation was identifiable, 75 percent were Republican.

In the run-up to the invasion of Iraq, there was even less diversity of opinion on the airwaves. During the critical two weeks before and after Colin Powell's speech to the United Nations where he made his case for war, FAIR found that just three out of 393 sources — fewer than 1 percent — were affiliated with anti-war activism.

Three out of almost 400 interviews. And that was on the "respectable" evening news shows of CBS, NBC, ABC and PBS.

Media corporations share members of the board of directors with a variety of other large corporations, including banks, investment companies, oil companies, health care and pharmaceutical companies and technology companies. This list shows board interlocks for the following major media interests:

The only news you get is the news that fits their corporate interests.

Boeing and Lockheed-Martin are pretty popular advertisers (to name a few) on the Sunday morning broadcasts.

When a story like this breaks nowdays half the country looks for the d or r first and foremost so they can draw conclusions and begin formulating biased opinions after this is known and not a second before. It was widely known in the first 5 seconds of the story on whichever channel being viewed hot off the press he is an r. This whole discussion is asinine.

Whats asinine is Fox making this error, and ALWAYS in favor of Republicans. Can you give a single example of an Democratic candidate being labeled a republican when they're in the midst of scandal? Because I can name at least three times this has happened to Democrats.

You may think it's trivial, but fox news apparently thinks it's worth doing, because this is a pattern. Don't blame me, I'm not the one that thinks all fox viewers are idiots, that's fox.

This is a very funny thread.
Obviously Obama's whining is working on few posters here.

According to a study last year the viewership breakdown is a such...

Viewership.

CNN: 51% Democrats, 18% Republicans, 23% independents

MSNBC: 45% Democrats, 18% Republicans, 27% independents

Fox News: 33% Democrats, 39% Republicans, 22% independents

Here are the latest ratings ...
For the total day, Fox News led with 1.2 million viewers, followed by CNN with 740,000 and MSNBC with 473,000. All three networks saw increases for total viewership for the day over the first quarter of 2008, with Fox News up 26%, CNN up 17% and MSNBC up 20%.

Fox must be doing something right.

The liberals control most major networks...

I have no doubt that you genuinely believe this, but it is still a jawdropper. Admittedly, there was a time when I would have agreed with you here, but I eventually became more informed-- much more informed. I believe you are confusing the political inclinations of individual journalists (who have little to no control of the networks themselves) with that of "the man behind the curtain." Truly, he would prefer that you not pay much attention to "him."

The major networks are controlled for the most part by what some know as the military industrial complex. It is the concept that Eisenhower warned the nation against as he was leaving office. It is the concept that the US will eventually center its whole economic prosperity around a growing, lucrative defense industry. Not only that, but the US will have to eventually become more warlike to justify such expense on defense (or offense, as the case may be). I suggest watching the documentary "Why We Fight." It begins with Eisenhower's speech and is very well done.

Note that merely because Ike was a Republican, that does not make the military industrial complex he warned against a liberal concept (for the blindly and simplemindedly partisan). Quite the contrary, really.
