| Michael Jackson dies in LA Posted: 6/25/2009 4:13:14 PM | | How odd, they say people die in threes, and that seems to be the case here... WOW, how weird, two we expected, but Jackson, no not expected... Guess when it is time to go, then sometimes there is no stopping it... | |

| Michael Jackson dies in LA Posted: 6/25/2009 4:18:25 PM | I'm stunned, I was just watching tv when a special news broadcast came on... it was such a shock. I thought he was here in England rehearsing for the shows he was to do in London.
There was no hint of him being ill...
I have such happy memories of watching Michael Jackson with my daughter at an open air concert some years ago at Roundhay Park in Leeds.
Then I opened my laptop and saw the news that Farrah Fawcett had also died.... someone who I have so enjoyed watching in her acting career.
I felt I just had to say something.... it's just so sad.

| Michael Jackson dies in LA Posted: 6/25/2009 4:41:42 PM | Sorry can't feel the pain. This guy bought himself out of being a convicted child molester. Because he was a pop star makes no diffrence to me. A molester is a molester period. | |

| Michael Jackson dies in LA Posted: 6/25/2009 4:51:33 PM | | Well, I'm not going to miss that FREAK. But I was sorry to hear about Farrah Fawcett's death. | |

| Michael Jackson dies in LA Posted: 6/25/2009 5:19:52 PM | | Micheal Jackson was the greatest entertainer in the history of music. He was a great writer, social commentary, dancer and singer. What seems to have gone unreported is his massive philantropic endevours. Hundredsof millions have been donated to a vast variety of causes due to his endevours. Ironic that such an enormous heart should fail him as he geared up for another tour D'force to yet again touch fans around the world through his remarkable talent. | |

| Michael Jackson dies in LA Posted: 6/25/2009 5:30:15 PM | | Just goes to show you just how loved he was, even after all the allegations towards him, the world has seemed to of stopped since the word first got out that he had a heart attack. Everyone is in shock, and he will be missed. And whether you loved the way he acted, very few people would deny his amazing talent as a pop superstar. He has made music what it is today. I for one will be one that will miss him a great deal, RIP Michael!!! | |

| Michael Jackson dies in LA Posted: 6/25/2009 6:05:06 PM | The sudden death is a bit unbelievable... and I mean that literally.
Okay, sounds like a kooky conspiracy and it's more a thought than anything. But what a way to bail himself out of financial troubles and get out of doing a tour that he wasn't ready for. I think back to Elvis and how he made more money dead than alive. His back catalogue sold for millions. What is Michael Jackson's music gonna be worth now that he's...um, gone? (just a thought)
Good music, weird dude, bad behavior...
... and a reminder that however big you are... we all gotta go sometime.

Well said...
Based on his life, his family, and success at so young an age - perhaps it was inevitable he was so messed up as a person. A brilliant dancer and singer (although not really my style, that was still easy to see), he could have done so much more with the gifts he had. He always struck me as "Peter Pan" in a way, the kid who never grew up. Again, probably explainable, since his childhood was impacted upon by his fame.
He'd been cruising for a long time, and it will be interesting to see if the stress of this comeback tour was the major contributing factor in his death - as one might easily suspect. The cancellation of some of some of his pre-tour prep sessions, and postponement of some of the early London shows wasn't a very good sign.
After seeing some of the things that were put up for auction after the Neverland sell off, it was a pretty mind warping experience. A coat with brass plates on it, with boys names ?
Brrrr....... | |

| Michael Jackson dies in LA Posted: 6/25/2009 6:33:25 PM | | Sorry to hear about Micheal. He was a great and foolish man. As hard as he is to understand, he was everything we wanted him to be until he made us look at ourselves. | |

Just goes to show you how loved he was - simplywhatever
I just created a post in the name of John Lennon, someone I'm sure Michael had an opinion about. Comparing the two, I would say that while John made us feel uncomfortable at times, at least he didn't throw our taboos in our face. C'mon guys! Even though Jacko made some great music, let's not forget that he couldn't care less about how you feel!

| Michael Jackson dies in LA Posted: 6/25/2009 6:54:30 PM | This was a total shock.
RIP Michael Jackson...
No matter how many people hated him, respected him or admired him you have to realize this man was a pioneer in his field.
His passing and Aaliyahs have been the most shocking in my time. My condolences go out to his family, friends, & fans

| Michael Jackson dies in LA Posted: 6/25/2009 6:59:03 PM | will this signify the next new school holiday? a newly named street in Brentwood? will the funeral procession shadow the Laker's parade? the world will most likely synchronize their clocks for a moment of silence.

btw, don't know how true this is, but I heard that he was working out to bulk up for the marathon concerts with Lou Ferrigno (sp?) as his coach. sounds like he over trained, too much, too soon.

| Michael Jackson dies in LA Posted: 6/25/2009 7:10:04 PM | I grew up with Michael Jackson's music, his cartoons. I came of age under Thriller and the huge success that it was. It's like a friend dying. All my life I have been surrounded by his music. some of the best dance tunes EVER. And as a dancer I respect his choreographies...amazing. I just watched "The Jacksons''again over the weekend on VH1. Very ironic.
With Farrah we had time to accept she was dying. This was so unexpected. I'm still in shock, hasn't sunk in.
|
| Michael Jackson dies in LA Posted: 6/25/2009 7:12:50 PM | | Montreal Guy....if you have ever seen the movie "Neverland'' it is about the guy who wrote the Peter Pan stories....Barrie, played by Johnny Depp. It's funny that he also was looked at weirdly and with suspicion for hanging out with young boys and being inspired to write his stories. And he wrote a character that Michael identified. | |

| Michael Jackson dies in LA Posted: 6/25/2009 7:14:12 PM | | There's always been something special about Michael Jackson. He's the one artist who has made the catchiest pop music I've ever heard. I can't stand to listen to today's pop music. I believe he was truly the king of the genre. | |
|
| Michael Jackson dies in LA Posted: 6/25/2009 7:18:49 PM | | I work at a record store. I was ringing up a customer who was buying 5 of his CDs when the news broke out. Within half an hour, we sold more Michael Jackson than we do in a given month. | |

| Michael Jackson dies in LA Posted: 6/25/2009 7:53:54 PM | I will start by saying I was not and am not a huge Michael Jackson fan. I will say that he had a few songs I liked and no one can deny the impact he had on popular music, dance and music videos. You don't have to respect the man but, you cannot disrespect his talent.
A lot of people say "bahh... goodbye pedophile" etc...
when was he convicted of being a pedophile?
Seems a lot of people get the news from the national enquirer.
Do I know if he molested children? nope... Do you? nope...
It's been a really crappy time lately. A lot of important people have died.
Farrah, Ed and a very important Canadian most of you would not know.
I just felt I should say that if you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing.
To some people Michael Jackson was very important and to myself he was an icon, not an idol but an icon.
I try not to comment on subjects I dislike... I wish others could do the same.
