| Women with Harleys Posted: 6/26/2009 6:58:28 AM | | Guys , What are your thoughts on women with Harleys. I've come across several profiles lately with women sporting there Harleys. I'm not a rider. Has anyone else developed a relationship with a woman that rides and you don't? It seems riders have their own circle of friends and non-riders don't fit in. | |

| Women with Harleys Posted: 6/26/2009 7:54:03 AM | Hot!
Unless she's really poor white trash, a chick with a bike is sexy as hell. And if she's tough enough to kick my ass, double bonus!
|
| Women with Harleys Posted: 6/26/2009 7:59:38 AM | | I like motorcycles but I stay away from Harley Snobs. | |
|
| Women with Harleys Posted: 6/26/2009 8:18:01 AM | Since I have my own, it is nice as well to have the woman you enjoy, riding with you one way or another!!!
I enjoy women that own their own and like to ride, just as long as they meet all my other requirements, and one is that they can not be larger then I am, and the other will be if they have significantly more tattoos.......
OT.........If a woman owns a Harley, there is no need to ever have to explain why we ride.........
Just my opinion........

| Women with Harleys Posted: 6/26/2009 8:41:43 AM | they are nice but never met one
maybe someday but not too keen on riding on the back. LOL
|
| Women with Harleys Posted: 6/26/2009 9:40:22 AM | | I think any women who rides is cool. Even better on a sport bike instead of a boat anchor. | |
|
| Women with Harleys Posted: 6/26/2009 9:48:28 AM | Being a gearhead myself... I like the idea of who likes motorcycles, cars and the like. I just haven't had any luck finding one that can strike the right balance... gearhead/feminine-enough-for-me. | |
|
| Women with Harleys Posted: 6/26/2009 12:33:15 PM | I love sports motorcycles rather than Harleys, however
there aren't enough women riding full stop,
so a lady on a Harley is a good start:
beggars can't be choosers!

| Women with Harleys Posted: 6/26/2009 12:48:56 PM | Nope... if I see they have a Harley or put motorcyles in their interests... I pass that profile by and move on to the next one. Not because I'm against Harley's or their riders... I'm just not into bikes.

| Women with Harleys Posted: 6/26/2009 1:17:56 PM | | i'd prefer not to get attached to a woman so cavalier about physical risks. riding is a huge one that is the easiest thing in the world to avoid. i want the best possible odds that she'll be spending the night in our bed, not a hospital's. | |

| Women with Harleys Posted: 6/26/2009 1:49:35 PM | Most women I have seen driving the harley as opposed of being the eye candy behind the seat, are chubby, or are heavier than I find interesting. Give me instead a girl that prefers a bike, yeap, not the one with the engine, the one you pedal. Those are the real tough chics. They tend to be slimmer, meaner, with great looking buts. | |

I bet'ya she keeps her figure not on the harley, but in the gym.

| Women with Harleys Posted: 6/26/2009 2:53:16 PM | I dislike Harleys. They're all about image, noise and rebel wannabees. They have no substance.
And I hate them more every time some 1diot with unrestricted straight pipes goes by and you can't even talk to the person next to you because the thing is so 1diotically loud.
At least with Japanese sport bikes there's some real technology and quality present.
With a Harley, the "quality" is basically how much chrome you've got.
The only good thing I can say about them is that the newer ones don't leak oil the way the old ones used to.
To me, a chick on a Harley just tells me she doesn't know squat about which motorcycles are good and which ones aren't... OR she has no taste.
Some people have even argued that Harleys aren't real motorcycles anymore: http://www.goingfaster.com/angst/noharley2.html

| Women with Harleys Posted: 6/26/2009 4:08:51 PM | | its hot!! except for the fatties that ride them, not into that. | |

| Women with Harleys Posted: 6/26/2009 6:29:45 PM | Not impressed. In fact, I stereotype them quite harshly. So far, I haven't met any that didn't live up to the stereotype. Not a good match for me. Now women who love muscle cars and high performance automobiles... That's a different story. | |
|
| Women with Harleys Posted: 6/26/2009 6:48:44 PM | I think it would be one more thing that we'd have in common. And it doesn't have to be a Harley! Any bike is fine. It's all good.
But then that's only one thing in common.

| Women with Harleys Posted: 6/26/2009 7:24:04 PM | | Give me a woman on a sports bike any day of the week, that at least tells me she loves to ride,..................Harleys.... no thanks. | |

I pretty much second that except for the tattoos. Not a deal breaker if she has one but I'm not into someone who has no real skin left. As for the comments about all the Harley women being overweight, bull - there are no more or no less than doing anything else. I count some real beauties among my biker friends.

Sorry, but I do not agree with you. And I'd consider my opinion an expert one having spent a good 20 years in Japan riding Japanese bikes. Yes, I like them, especially Suzuki. But in recent years it's been all about Star Wars styling and personally, a subjective opinion, I think they look like crap. In fact I'm now looking for an early 80s one to restore.
Not all Harleys are "idiotically loud". My Sportster has stock mufflers and air cleaners. But what about all those rice burner Katanas (used to ride one, again stock), Hayabusas, VTs, etc. with 4 into one systems that are buzzingly loud, sounding like a chain saw out of whack?
You are wrong about chrome too. Chrome can be added to any bike and there are Japanese (not Jap) as well as European bikes with lots of chrome. Of course Harley outsells them all so you see more of them. My particular model has a blacked out engine, painted fenders and other than the handle bars, air cleaner, and mufflers there is no chrome. So Zeke which is better, real metal fenders and air cleaner or plastic ones. Even your upscale Honda land yacht is covered in plastic which the sun will discolor in time and when those bikes get really old it's very difficult to find replacement parts. You can walk into any Harley dealer and order parts for something made when even your father was a boy. And as for leaking oil, where have you been? That was way way back in the 50s and before. Harley has gone through several generation of engines since then. Maybe because they have all been V-twins you just have not realized that; giving you the benefit of the doubt.
While we're at it my 1200 cc bike is getting 62 miles to the gallon. Show me any other brand with an engine that size that can come near it. As for technology, all Harleys have nearly indestructable and maintenance belt drive, fuel injection, self canceling turn signals and even 2 trip meters. Don't post internet sites that say this or that. I can post just as many that claim Japanese bikes, German women, or people whose names begin with z are such and such. That doesn't mean diddly squat, only that someone with too much time on their hands collected a supposedly valid set of data asserting whatever s/he is trying to get other people to believe. And I would be willing to bet that you have never ridden a Harley. If you are so into sport bikes drop by a dealer and try out an XR 1200 R. You might be surprised.
BTW I do not work for Harley or have any connection with them in any way, shape, or form excepting that I currently ride a Sportster 1200, the first Harley I've ever purchased. Before that I rode Whizzer motor bikes (as a kid), Vespa scooters, Triumph Bonneville, Yamaha XS, several Hondas, 1 or 2 Kawasakis and even more Suzukis. While in Japan I actually wore out more than 6 bikes, having ridden well over 1,000,000 kilometers. The Harley I ride now is not the fastest bike I've ever ridden but it certainly is no slug, it handles pretty well, and as noted above gets fantastic gasoline mileage.
For the person making the comments about women who ride Harleys not knowing anything about bikes, ho ho ho. That is like saying that the guys who laugh at women who ride Harleys don't know anything about women, and I'd be willing to bet that most of my female riding friends out there would agree with me on that.

I bet'ya she keeps her figure not on the harley, but in the gym. Nope. I betcha you're wrong. She's no gym rat. She hikes a bit and is into west coast recreating. However, she's a natural blessed with amazing genes...and very feminine.

| Women with Harleys Posted: 6/26/2009 9:35:40 PM | | Just because she has one doesn't mean you have to ride, too. A lot of women ride horses, that doesn't mean you have to ride one. | |

| Women with Harleys Posted: 6/27/2009 12:24:03 AM | Love a woman who rides her own bike. Definately hot. Even hotter if she's pierced and tattooed. | |
|
| Women with Harleys Posted: 6/27/2009 1:38:16 AM | Well i don't have a Harley, but i used to and if you look at my pics you will see that i'm not fat and butch! Another friend of mine rides one and she is a very feminine and very capable woman. In fact if you met her you would never guess she was even a bike rider (if you go by stereotypes).
As for us having our own circle of friends, i think everybody does don't they? Would you not go out with a dancer because most of her friends were dancers or a cyclist because most of her friends were athletes?
My partner is NOT a bike rider. Thank goodness it didn't stop him from contacting me on this site 2 years ago!! Every now and again he gets on the back of my bike and comes for a ride. Just like every now and again i'll do something that he's really interested in but i'm not..... Quite simple really.....
