| Limburger Cheese.... Posted: 6/29/2009 5:17:40 PM | Limburger Cheese?! Good grief, Byrd, hat stuff will clear out your sinuses or an entire apartment building! I bought it once, just because I could. I couldn't eat it because I couldn't get near it. I took it to work to share with my co-workers. They were not amused, I was though! | |
|
| Limburger Cheese.... Posted: 6/29/2009 5:46:04 PM | I'll put Vermont Cheese up against Wisconsin cheese any day.
Actually, I have no idea if one tastes different from the others. LOL I would supposed they would. It seems like it would depend on the milk/cream that they are made from and the taste of that can depend on what the cows eat. Western grasses/hay/whatever would be different from Eastern.

| Limburger Cheese.... Posted: 6/29/2009 7:22:57 PM | | They really make that stuff? I thought it was something made up for old Warner Brothers cartoons. Does eet smellz like zee feetz? | |

| Limburger Cheese.... Posted: 6/29/2009 7:25:38 PM | My dear friend Byrd
With your size and being a beer drinker I can only imagine what would happen with you eating Limburger Cheese and drinking beer. Just one fart and the neighbors will have to call the hazardous response team.
I will bet your dating chances will be limited after this post. lmao.
You are a good guy but get off the cheese

I took a wiff of that cheese and it smells like baby sh*t..Anyway I didn't put Limburger Cheese in the food section because guys back in the 50's and 60's used to use Lim Burger Cheese in another way...Maybe there's a couple of real old schoolers here that have done that..

| Limburger Cheese.... Posted: 6/29/2009 10:44:18 PM | | yes Byrd I did that.............shove it in the defrost vent of a car in the winter. It melts down there and gets stinkier as time goes by.........easier to sell the car then to get the stink out | |

No, no, no! Toasted rye bread, extra sharp cheddar, Spanish onion, and YELLOW mustard. Wash it down with a pint of Guinness Draught and you'll taste no finer sandwich!

That's hilarious! Even more so for the ultra-deserving. Of course in today's world that would be called an "act of terrorism" like everything else.

| Limburger Cheese.... Posted: 6/30/2009 6:26:52 AM | | Limburger, is it anything like Gorganzola or Stilton? | |
|
| Limburger Cheese.... Posted: 6/30/2009 7:42:07 AM | Stilton and Gorgonzola are cow's milk blue cheeses and share similar methods of production.
Limburger is very different! For a start It's not a blue veined cheese, and during production the it is bathed repeatedly with a brine of salt water and Brevibacterium linens.
Brevibacterium linens is the same bacterium that is found on human skin and is partly responsible for body odour.
Give me some Stilton anytime!!

| Limburger Cheese.... Posted: 6/30/2009 7:58:42 AM | Was looking for the Vent Masters Oh how I wish I was under 18 just for a day so I could slip acouple slices through a police cars vents.... I hear they use something else nowadays...Weapons of Mass Stank, Limburger Cheese.. | |
|
| Limburger Cheese.... Posted: 6/30/2009 11:42:19 AM | | vents were fine.......but the manifold or heater manifold were much better places | |

| Limburger Cheese.... Posted: 6/30/2009 1:30:17 PM | I do love cheese, but after reading this post, I don't know about this Limburgerness. But I must say...Wisconsin does do cheese, sausage and beer mighty well :) | |

| Limburger Cheese.... Posted: 6/30/2009 2:17:06 PM |
I'll put Vermont Cheese up against Wisconsin cheese any day. That's like saying, "I'll put Tennessee maple syrup up against Vermont maple syrup any day." Or, "I'll put Minnesota's chile rellenos up against Texas' any day."
I've never had limburger...I'll stick with the bleu cheeses, also. The gorgonzola tenderloin beef tips at Olive Garden are to die for.
The last cheese I bought in Wisconsin, was a horseradish white cheddar...man, it just melted in your mouth...very nice on some bruschetta accompanied by a nice cabernet.

| Limburger Cheese.... Posted: 6/30/2009 3:23:12 PM | Wisconsin "LongHorn" sharp cheddar Cheese is the only cheese for Tex-Mex Cheese Enchiladas. Shreaded for a topping for Crispy Tacos, Nachos, and Chalupas...
The sharp taste is awesome with refried pinto beans...I remember my dad bringing home a huge Log of Longhorn cheese...With that blue Wisconsin stamp on the rhine.
