Seems really, really odd to have a 200 word minimum for the "Profile Review" forum. Seems to me you'd want to encourage OPs to say less, not more... if I post here and say, "Go.", everyone ought to be able to figure out that I'm looking for... a profile review?!?!?! But, I keep getting a message telling me to type more because I'm under the limit, so I'll sort of ramble on a little bit until I figure I have 200 words to make the website happy. An edit function so I could go back and delete most of this junk would be nice, but you can't have everything. I don't see much point in begging for glowingly positive reviews, or self-flagellating myself with a "I know I'm bad and ugly and inadequate, but oh won't you please take pity on me?" Seems dumb. Like Popeye says, "I yam what I yam", so hopefully another ambulatory sweet potato will come along at some point. All I'm looking for now is a fellow tuber to come along and tell me what they think, and if my profile needs a little more salt and pepper. So, I think I ought to be approaching 200 words, let me hit Post and see what happens! Thanks, everyone!

Hi, there. Personally, I don't like dogs (gasp!) so I couldn't care less about the dog photos, but you need at least one big ol' smiling clear straight on head/shoulders shot so we can really see what you look like.

The Interests are varied and the profile is well written. But - who are you looking for? The obvious "must love dogs" aside, what else will she be like? Use only positive language.

The only things I can see that may be an issue for you are a) the great wall of email restrictions, and b) that fact you're 38, have no kids and don't want any. That rules out all the single moms here in your age range, and there are a lot. If you're willing to wait, it may be worth it.

Good luck!

.... and I'll pretend not to notice this is a duplicate thread....

Hello, my little fishies! ---this is kind of weird...makes you look like a mad scientist, planning to conduct several experiments on your "little fishy"...the last thing a woman wants to be called is a little fishy...we are grown women.

I am a "failed foster" (meaning I couldn't give a dog back and wound up adopting her).
You explain this here...but in your headline I had no idea what you were talking about.

Other than that, I'm employed (and I really like my job!)--actually talk about what u do

live in my own place (well, it will be after I satisfy the bank), have a car (it isn't much of one, but it starts every morning and is paid for!),--the the quotations out...they are turn offs

It's funny that simple things like that are apparently such a big deal. I wouldn't even mention them, like I don't bother to mention that I have two eyes, two ears, one nose, etc. But browsing around leads me to the conclusion that such traits are rare and highly desirable here. So there you go.---this is all pointless rambling

Weekends, you'll find me walking my dog at Fiesta Island or volunteering at various adoption events. I'll alternate between reading and watching DVDs... I go on jags of either. Currently, my TV time is cut way back for reading. Maybe in a couple of months, that'll flip-flop. Like when Mad Men or The Office or Lost comes back. I also love a good dinner or wine tasting when I have someone to share it with.-
--this isn't so bad...but isnt great..your on the border of rambling again

One of my most important goals can be summed up thusly... I want my biggest problem when I'm retired to be where to cruise to, not which brand of dog food is tastiest and cheapest. However, I am also not going to be one of those people who freezes to death with clothes stuffed with newspapers who turns out to have $10 million in the bank, either. I love to have a good time. I like to fly to Las Vegas once in a while, and am thinking about a cruise to Cabo in September (and am accepting applications for companions now!) I am more of an ant than a grasshopper. But those ants never seemed to stop and take the time to enjoy the summer, and what's the point of living solely to prepare for the winter?---this is all pointless

Since it asks about music, I'm pretty certain that nothing worth listening to has been produced since about 1990 or so. I like the classics... Eagles, Foreigner, Pink Floyd (am eagerly awaiting the return of Australian Pink Floyd), etc. Lots of '70s, some '80s and '60s and '50s. I have been caught at the theater... Phantom, Mamma Mia!, Spring Awakening, Mystere. I like a lot of stuff and can listen to a lot of stuff. Not a C&W fan (but I do love Johnny Cash).--just state what kind of music you like..

First DateA first date, from the Internet? We meet for coffee or something on neutral ground. Sorry, no elaborate plans. I'm a huge believer in chemistry, and that you only find out about for sure face-to-face. If it isn't there, we walk away.---this is rude

It's pretty clear that you are looking for a fellow dog lover. Perhaps your profile will connect you with someone that shares your passion for dogs.

Must have better SMILING headshot of you. Without your girl kissing you - anyone seeing that shot is going to know their place in the pack and its maybe going to be too far down for some women, lol.

Expound on what you are looking for in a mate.

You seem unnecassarily and creepily attached to you dog, IMO. You really only need to post the one pic of you and your dog because nobody is looking to date the dog. I hope. LOL.

Seriously, I'd lose the main profile pic (You're way too close to the dog in it and you can hardly see your face) and the pic of you making out with the dog. Maybe the other one with the dog, too. I mean, one pic of you playing with the dog would be enough, but make sure it's playing with the dog, not hugging or kissing the dog.

Just my two cents.

I don't have time to read your profile right now, but will later.

I love the dog pictures!

Hi, John -

FanTAStic new main photo. Wow.

Bring the 'music' paragraph up before the paragraph describing who you are looking for, but I like the placement of the 'kids' paragraph as a final. This will flow better.

Again - I'm going to harass you about the "No Talk/Email" and "Must have photo" restrictions. Some women start off shy with the talk/email thing but are ultimately looking for a romantic partner. As well, many fabulous women on this site (ahem!) have no main photo posted for a variety of legit reasons, but have private images to share once you started corresponding. Go on, I dare ya......

Why, thank you, "You go first"! I think you made me blush a little!

I'll mull over your other suggestions while I walk my dog!
