Actor Karl Malden has passed away at age 97 of natural causes. The Academy Award winner (best supporting) for A Streetcar Named Desire was perhaps best known as Detective Mike Stone in The Streets of San Francisco, though his film, theatrical, and TV resume stretches 7 decades!

I have a fond rememberance of his many performances. He was a terrific actor and by all accounts, he was a class act!

RIP.

I remember him co-starring with Michael Douglas in "the Streets of San Francisco," and I liked his perfomance in that 1984 tv mini series, "Fatal Vision."

Plus, I remember all those American Express commercials he did back in the 1970s and 1980s.

Great actor and wonderful human being.

A nice long life. Wow, 97 years.

I remember Karl Malden from many hours sitting indian style in front of our old RCA television set and watching The Streets of San Francisco every week. Cool Stuff!

I also remember some other memorable roles of Karl Malden. He was totally evil as the bad guy in Marlon Brando's One Eyed Jacks. He was even good in crap movies like Meteor and the 2nd Posideon Adventure flick that had Michael Caine and Sally Fields and was just terrible! LOL

Great guy, great movie memories and a great life until 97.... who could ask for more?

RIP Karl Malden. One of the greatest, and one of the most overlooked actors of all time.

His best role was definitely Father Barry in "On the Waterfront."

Just a few days I watched "On The Waterfront" again. I forgot what a big part of that movie he is. Perhaps his best performance. In a movie full of good ones (Brando, Lee J. Cobb).

They say it happens in 3's what with Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson then Mollie Sugden now Karl Malden has gone it sems not in this case. It seems that it won't be long before the Train Robber will soon be joing the list.

He also played the step-father in the Barbra Streisand movie, "Nuts". Leslie Nielsen played a serious role in that film as well.

I just read about it today even thought he died last week. Guess he really got overshadowed. AND he was a much better actor than Farrah with acting credits going back as far as the 30s. I hope there will be some kind of special on TV about him, probably would be on PBS.

I think we're up to 7 celebrities. I don't remember the order. Farrah, Michael, Mollie Sugden, Karl Malden, David Carradine, Billy Mays, and Ed McMahon (sp?).
