People like Steve Silk Hurley, todd terry etc took regular tracks and turned them into anthems. Nowadays a house remix is mostly an annoying 140 BPM version of an already annoying song. | |

I was a nightclub DJ from 1984 until 1990, and I agree with you that the 1980's - era Chicago house remixes were the best. The junk they play in dance clubs today cannot compare to the style and creativity of the 1980's house music. Here are few others you may remember:
