| Where did all the cowboys go?? Posted: 7/2/2009 5:58:52 PM | Ok so maybe the cowboys just haven't gotten used to the computers yet but I want one non the less. I'm fairly happy with my profile. It's kind of abrupt but I think it is really a great reflexion of me. Is it not going to attract me a cowboy? Lol! | |

| Where did all the cowboys go?? Posted: 7/2/2009 6:03:11 PM | | Apparently after the sweeping success of a certain cowboy film they all retreated back into the closet! | |

| Where did all the cowboys go?? Posted: 7/2/2009 6:53:43 PM | | I ride English too (Hunter Jumpers) and I have found some of the hottest men are at Roping or Team Penning outtings...but most of them are "drunks" amd not "real" cowboys. Attend some Western events and you MAY find some...but they are few and far between where you are. Come on down here to Florida...we have a lot north of me where I live on the beach. :) | |

| Where did all the cowboys go?? Posted: 7/2/2009 7:58:09 PM | Ummm.....I don't know....maybe wrong century!?!
Closest thing today might be someone working for minimum wage in a meat packing plant!?!

| Where did all the cowboys go?? Posted: 7/2/2009 8:13:04 PM | | You're in London, Ontario. Why not looking in the States, in a state that actually has cowboys? From what I've heard and read, London isn't exactly a "yee-haw" kind of town. ;) | |
|
| Where did all the cowboys go?? Posted: 7/2/2009 8:22:18 PM | | Your main pic is of your horse, and you just happen to be crowded in at the edge. I would use #4 as your main pic. | |

| Where did all the cowboys go?? Posted: 7/3/2009 2:33:55 PM | Haha I was down in the states they sent me back :( I don't like the boarder and they sure don't like me.. the states themselves loved me though I swear between the nicer temps and the people who I actually made friends with there isn't a whole lot keeping me here..
London is not in any way a horse town.. I have yet to find a decent horse town in southern ontario.
I went with this picture because it was taken the most recently.. I get lots of views on the profile so I don't think the main image is a concern. I've found a lot less dirty arseholes contacting me too, go figure.

Really now?? Well with an attidude like that they'd make a better catch than you.

And that is exactly my point. Ok, I was a bit snarky and I apologize for that (it has been one of those weeks!).
My point is that...don't limit yourself to an occupation or image. A lot of women go for the "bad boy" type and then find out, the hard way, why they are called bad boys. The guy in the meat packing plant just might be a better match.

| Where did all the cowboys go?? Posted: 7/3/2009 10:16:43 PM | Ohok I see where your coming from now.
I'm not after the bad boy type. Yes I'd prefer it (what girl my age doesn't?) but honestly if I found someone who COULD ride a horse, or at the very least keep up with a horse related conversation but was sweet as could be I could deal with it..lol!
I try not to limit myself to an occupation or image.. but I've limited myself to my occupation, I am a horse people that's all there is to it, I don't have a job to support myself, I have a job to support my horses (the ones who don't support themselves with helping out in lessons). I get emails all the time from boys from the city saying "I'd love to learn to ride I've never been on a horse would you teach me for our first date" and I reply sure that's $30 dollars please, I'll see you next week. I honestly cannot see myself dating a city person again, is that limiting myself too much?

| Where did all the cowboys go?? Posted: 7/3/2009 11:38:40 PM | Sure. Give them a chance.
Here’s why I say that…
Out of the blue, my ex-wife once suggested we spend a Saturday looking for a dog as a potential pet. “Sure,” I said.
Now, before this, I never saw myself as a dog person. It never entered my mind. I’m a city type, workaholic, MBA, the last person you would ever suspect that would fall in love with an 8 pound Pekingese.
Well, we looked at dogs, spotted one that touch our hearts, and got her.
My ex and our relationship lasted 4 years. When we divorced, she got the house and I got the dog and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. The dog and I were inseparable. I even got active in dog rescue. I had her for 12.5 years before she died.
After Princess died, I would change the channel on tv if a dog was on. It hurt that much. Finally, after 5 years I got another one, and he’s the center of my life. If my house burned down tonight and all I was able to save was my dog, Ping, I would be grateful.
A lot of guys never see themselves as devoted dads until they have their first kid. So I’m guessing that there are a lot of guys that never saw themselves as devoted equestrians until they have their first horse ride.

| Where did all the cowboys go?? Posted: 7/4/2009 8:06:57 PM | Wow long story for the end point but thanks, I appriehate that sort of effort.
Does it make me a bad person if I really do not want to teach them the horse stuff? I mean I can and I do, I'm a teacher at heart but I don't want to be a teacher in the relationship. I'd like to be able to learn off the person as well, wether it's horses or something else I guess...

Not at all. In fact, that makes perfect sense. Its like...if I were a cook in a restaurant, after cooking all day, I might not want to cook when I get home. It is also a good thing to surround yourself with people more knowledgeable than yourself so that one can learn more.

You're the only one who can answer that.
Would you rather go dateless for years in the hope of maybe one day finding your perfect cowboy?
Or would you rather meet people, knowing that most of them just aren't going to be what you're looking for, but maybe finding someone in an unlikely manner?
There's nothing wrong with the former... but if that's what you want, it won't really help you to come back asking for more advice which will be the same as what you've already had.
And if you do want to meet more people, why not try changing your profile for a couple of weeks? See what happens? Just changing the main pic will make you look like a whole "new" match in search results. Like I mentioned before, right now, people are seeing a horse in those results. Sure, there might be a guy who loves horses as much as you who might click through to see more. I think most will be like, I've already seen Sex And The City, next

| Where did all the cowboys go?? Posted: 7/7/2009 10:56:45 PM | Sex in the city?? I'm lost sorry I'm not up to par on the tv analogies... I can admit I'm not much for tv..
I don't know which type of route I will go, tomorrow I'm a very lucky person I'm meeting up for two dates one with an old friend which could lead somewhere as we're both into music pretty hard core...and the arts I guess, but I don't know the whole chemistry thing is on our side I guess you could say! Then later on I'm on a double blind date with my best friend at the beach which also should be great fun!
Funny how you don't get a date for 3 months then you get two on same day.. while you thinking of possibly making the biggest financial and career move of your life (moving away from the parents farm to rent a huge farm else where..eek scary).
Any who those who read the above thanks for reading my little ramble..that felt good ;)
