| Windows 7 vs. Windows XP for Netbooks Posted: 7/2/2009 10:14:40 PM | Looks to me like Linux & XP are the best choices.
Out of the Linux options: Xubuntu (xfce version of Ubuntu) is really light on resources & I've had it running on 64mb ram (memory)
I'm currently running openSUSE v11.1 (Linux) & Ubuntu v9.04 (Linux) on my netbooks and love it!
>Ubuntu came with all of the drivers built into the kernel so it ran perfectly out of the box
>SUSE needed a wifi driver which is easy to get. Just download ndiswrapper or ndisgtk and the driver from the computer manufacturers website
*If using XP, its not a bad idea to uninstall any extra/unused software/crapware and manage the startup apps w/msconfig | |
