Diets consists of all fluids, water, fruit and or vegetable juices for 24 hours. You can loose up to 6 lbs in 24 hours.
Of course this is only a jump start and we need to keep a sensible diet there after to keep it off. You will be losing mostly fluids.

| FULL MOON DIET...... July 2009 Posted: 7/4/2009 8:33:28 AM | Can you drink protein shakes? I'd join you if I could do that, otherwise my blood sugars would go all whacky! | |

| FULL MOON DIET...... July 2009 Posted: 7/4/2009 5:04:07 PM | I once did a diet that consisted of only eating red foods and drinking water that had sat in the sun in a red glass....I'm done with the crazy diets. | |

Everything has effect on your weight loss.
As long as you believe it will.
The placebo effect is more powerful than any drug.
Everyone that has been successful at weight loss will have a different story to tell on how they achieved their goals but one of the only things thing they have in common is they believed what they where doing was going to work.

The only time you may want to lose fluids unless you are cutting weight for a fight.
The key to healthy weight loss is staying well hydrated.
There are no benefits of a "jump start".

| FULL MOON DIET...... July 2009 Posted: 7/4/2009 7:08:30 PM | Gubblegum, Sorry for delay in answering. I say YES. when i was 17, I did it with protein shake for my prom. I lost like LOTS of weight about 10 lbs truly. Juat make sure you don't eat any solids.
The diet I read calls for juices and liquids. You can have chicken broth w/o any meat if you long for salty stuff.
I will buy lots of strawberries and bananas and make myself lots of shakes....my even add some yogurt. We have 99cs strawberries here in Texas!!!
Hope you join.... | |

| FULL MOON DIET...... July 2009 Posted: 7/4/2009 7:13:28 PM | well, they claim there might be more gravity that helps us eliminate more fluids. Thats about it, but not totally endorsed. But in worse case scenario it is a detox diet and a fluid diet. I did it in my younger years and it always worked good for me. We can only do it for 24 hours....not any longer.
==== Ezzee: LOL Now you need to be careful!
==== James B Thank you for wise advise. In fact since yesterday I started my Atkins diet. I wanted a jump start since I couldn't start eating right...but luckily I was able to tighten the belt and start a regular low carb diet.... I will still get extra help of this Moon diet. Just wish me luck.
==== Its pointless for you...maybe not for me. I read all about it, did it in the past and feel I want to do it.
I can respect you opinion....but really didnt ask yr permission.

| FULL MOON DIET...... July 2009 Posted: 7/4/2009 7:27:36 PM | | What a totally pointless diet. Why put yourself through this and lose water weight that you will gain right back once you start eating again? | |

| FULL MOON DIET...... July 2009 Posted: 7/4/2009 7:46:50 PM | I am on this food combining diet it seems to settle my stomach so I thought I would try it again. The premise is that when you eat protein your body kicks in acid digestive juices to digest your food vs when you eat carbs your body kicks in alkaline digestive juices so if you eat them both at the same time your acid cancels out your alkaline and your food does not digest properly and ferments and turns the undigested food to fat. If you do eat carbs with protein by accident or for what ever reason what you do is combine lentils, beans, or peas with this to make the carbs a protein and then it will digest better. They don't like you to eat dairy but if you do and yes I do then you have to consume an acid fruit to help digest the dairy. fruit is eaten with fruit and it suggest 1meal fruit 2nd meal protein and low carb vegtables like salad 3rd meal carbs. So it does actually make me feel less bloated when I eat this way. Anybody ever tried this?????? | |

| FULL MOON DIET...... July 2009 Posted: 7/4/2009 7:52:54 PM | I'll join you then RosiaG, what the heck. I've already made up my mind to start tightening up my diet (my doctor's words) on Monday and start a walking and exercise program, so 24 hours of liquids won't do me any harm (or maybe any good). lol Just something to give me bit of motivation to change what I'm eating and doing now. If I can do liquids for 24 hours, I can do anything!
So I guess nothing solid after midnight Monday until Wednesday morning? Won't be too hard ... I hope. lol
For those who think it's a bad or whacky idea, eh, it's just some women bonding over a very short lived liquid fast.
I'll report my loss (if any) Rosia, on Thursday morning, then Friday I'll report my gain for Optimistically Cynical! lol!

| FULL MOON DIET...... July 2009 Posted: 7/5/2009 4:38:37 AM | | I'm in! As a fisherwoman/hunter I understand the significance of the moon and it's phases, influencing tides, and inhabitants of the planet. Even in our earliest of times civilisations recognised the phases of the moon and it's importance. So, count me in. “Food free time” is always good. | |

Someone stop the presses. For once I agree with you.
Although, I must admit, I'm feeling good on this liquid diet. I've finished off my bottle of Captain Morgan and Smirnoff. About to start on my Crown Royale.

| FULL MOON DIET...... July 2009 Posted: 7/5/2009 5:09:34 PM | Texasbaby, I'm so sorry....I blame it in me not being sure what time was in Mountain...now I know is 1 hr behind Texas. Of course anyone welcome. This diet has no scientifuc endorsement, but we can just do it and at least lose some.
NOTICE To all party poopers, opinionated, etc etc... If you like it maybe you can do it. If you don't like it or find it pointless, IQless, dumb, etc just pass it. I have this ability to be deaf and blind to party poopers, so do not waste yr energy. For those with wise advice...thank you and taken into consideration. In fact this is my 3rd day on Atkins...doing quite well.
And to all the people joining....how about we have fun and see if after this 1st try we can do once a month. Thank you for sharing my enthusiasm....
I'm flying to Lima, Peru on the 13th...don't want to scare them!!! Going to celebrate my Mom's 80th and my 50th birthday!!!!

| FULL MOON DIET...... July 2009 Posted: 7/6/2009 2:23:56 AM | a good diet consists of exercise and eating healthy balanced foods! If it's too good to be true, then it most likely is! Be weary of fad diets, the results never last. It's all about a life style change, mentally and physically. Weight loss is hard work! | |

louisespencer: Thank you, well aware of the 'diet' issues. This is just an exercise in both bonding with other forum users and a bit of a flush for your body using the moon cycle. The OP is just suggesting a 24 hr period, no longer.
