| Moderator threads Posted: 7/5/2009 8:50:55 AM | I get a ... moderator threads link beside the my threads link ... and a moderator hammer symbol in my symbols....
i clicked the link and went to a strange set of postings ... about 8 or 10 with zero views listed ..... does this mean you are hoping I will act as a moderator on these threads?
if so .... why didn't I get sent an email with a request and an explanation of the situation.
have a nice day

| Moderator threads Posted: 10/29/2009 1:20:52 AM | I thought when a thread was deleted that it should be in the Mod Threads area for a little while?
A thread I have been contributing to has been deleted whilst I've been logged in this morning, but if I click Mod Threads it isn't there. I have done a little searching to find out what Mod Threads is all about, but couldn't really find anything that explained what goes in there and what is just plain deleted. Sorry, I'm sure the explanation will be there somewhere!
If someone wouldn't mind summarising, I'd be grateful.
thanks

| Moderator threads Posted: 10/29/2009 1:33:16 AM | To quote Msg 3, Mod Threads
They are simply threads that have been set to be deleted by the community due to rule infractions listed here Reportable InfractionsIf you wish, you can click on the threads, participate or not, and vote on them accordingly if you feel they violate the Acceptable Use and Posting Rules - Voting is optional.
I thought when a thread was deleted that it should be in the Mod Threads area for a little while?
No if they are deleted they are sent to the nether most pit in the region of chaos never to see the light of day again.
So basically mod threads are threads that the members have voted to delete or not, they could be valid threads or not. They need to get 7 out of 10 to be automatically deleted by the system and then you get an auto message from Admin.

| Moderator threads Posted: 10/29/2009 4:26:17 PM | Ya I have "No Voting Option" when I view "Mod Threads" at all. I used to though.
Some how the limits or penalties must have been upped alot more than posted on the info thread.
Anyway for a Moderator to find out what the limits have been boosted to now?

You currently have no posting sanctions other than your ability to vote off threads being disabled, for voting to delete a perfectly valid thread in the Technology Forum.

We can ship you body bags, or if someone there dies from H1N1 you can pour gasoline over the body and incinerate it; your choice.
This is posted on a thread about the body bag issue. It is a violation of specific human rights and in my view violates the rules for posting as it is highly offensive and racist. Can someone please remove this authors postings. Thank you.

So how long is it disabled for if I might ask.
Probably I hit the Delete Button sir because I felt it had already been posted before in this vastness of the millions of undying threads and postings already posted here by some other member.
If you had just asked me politely to look further at the issue then I would have.
As alot of us members know and obviously you do too there are millions of posts and threads that are posted repeatedly over and over that are still in place.
Thank you for your response.

| Moderator threads Posted: 10/30/2009 5:31:28 AM | Chuck actually it usually takes more then once to lose that right. Not always but usually. I believe trapped gave you strike one and I later removed the right for you to vote when you voted to save one that was obviously redundant and you were the only one voting to save it. I have more available time right at this moment then the other mods (won't always be that way trust me) and I actually watch the mods thread link often and see voting patterns due to my available time online. We depend on the community vote heavily here due to the limited availability of the mods. So making sure that the right people have that right to vote, and removing people that are voting incorrectly is crucial to that feature working correctly in our forums.
I get the impression that many don't realize their voting patterns are actually monitored here constantly. They are trust me. People that do not use that right in a way consistant with the rules of this forum will have that voting right removed.

| Moderator threads Posted: 10/30/2009 12:42:45 PM | @ *Cowboy* Oh I knew and know they were and are Moderated and I was just voting my honest opinion on the threads that came up. That is all.
Some people view things one way and some the other then you have those who are obviously dead center.
I voted by reading the threads and expressing my own view point which I thought was the reason why people are allowed to vote whether their own vote actually might be the deciding factor or not.
I know this is not a Democracy here by far but is it fair to take only one select group of members opinions or would it be more fair to allow all opinions to matter in this Mod Thread issue?
Either way the powers that be will do as they will regardless what members say but I do feel it is nice that we the membership be allowed to express ourselves either by voting or openly posting with out fears of banning or any such penalties that might be used as a form of control.
Thank you for your honest response *Cowboy*.
