Being too nerdy is an idea best left with the torments and joys of younger days [like grade school] . If you have the right balance activity in your life there's hardly a problem with being into the nerdy things.
Its when you occupy your time so well that a woman can be classed as 'extra baggage' beside everything else that it may be good to reorganize. Maybe you might get lucky and find a girl that's into the same stuff.

Do you also talk endlessly in 'nerd tech talk' about things most people with human brains wouldn't understand? Do you actually try to explain the anime story lines to someone that seriously couldn't give a s**t what 'so and so' from Bleach was doing?
If you answered YES...to any of the above questions....Then Yes...you are wayyyy to nerdy for most women and should be checking out the 'pc hardware drive' message boards for dates!

Sorry OP. But just to make this post somewhat meaningful. I watch a lot of anime...I stay up till 2am on certain nights waiting for manga to be released. I have a wall of programming related books...but I'm social. You'd never know unless you actually stepped into my house or mentioned something and I couldn't keep my mouth shut and came out with my hidden nerdiness. | |

I'd love to meet a nerdy guy, PROVIDED he has developed some people skills, too. It would be great if he recognized what appropriate interaction with other humans was like, and wasn't all-consumed by his online (or computer-building, or whatever) habits.
If he was able to give the understanding he wanted from me as far as MY interests, that would be awesome. As in, being flexible, open, emotionally mature, not stingy with his time, able to communicate, to be warm, and to make conversation with others in social situations.
Unfortunately...most of the nerdy types I meet don't meet these criteria. It just doesn't seem to be how they're wired.

Posted: 7/7/2009 11:55:58 PM | I know plenty of girls who like nerds, and I'd pick a nerd over a sports jock, bogan or Cassanova any day. I was always the bookworm/music nerd in high school, and I turned out alright! Repeat after me, ''nerd' is not a social disease'.
My mum always used to say that all girls should marry nerds, because they're grateful for the attention, loyal, and tend to make lots of money. I can totally see the logic in that! | |
