| Fun and interesting get to know you questions
Posted: 7/9/2009 2:52:06 PM | I'm looking for some good ideas or to hear what you have heard as good "get to know you" questions. I hate the usual boring, where do you live, what do you do, blah blah stuff. Something interesting that not only reveals something about the respondant, but can lead to other interesting topics of conversation. I'm trying to think inside the context of a second or third email, or a first date, so nothing TOO personal or scary-weird. A little personal and off the beaten path might be perfect though.

It isn't about canned questions. It's about what you sincerely want to ask. What do you know about her already that you're curious about? If you know so little about her that you can't think of any questions on your own, then what would inspire you to date her?

Some of the guys that contact me just have "that" personality that shines through their often funny approach. I appreciate that they are comfortable with life and don't take themselves too seriously.
Don't ask too many questions at first.
The most intriguing head line I've had recently is "Pssst, you've got mail..." That made me smile and I liked the person before I even opened the message. Weird, but true. | |

1.have you had luck on POF? if i had i wouldn't be still on it.
2.I bet you talk to a lot of guys online don't you? stop assuming anything...people come and go online, they rarely stick around unless they are truly interested
3. How come you are single? I ask myself this all the time...wish i knew the answer.
4. How come you're home on a friday night?
5. When was your last relationship? did you meet them on pof? .... does it really matter...it's over...if you start me discussing it, i'm liable to start reminiscing and realize he was way hotter than you are.
SERIOUSLY, LATELY I'VE HAD GUYS ASK ABOUT DATES AND RELATIONSHIPS AND THEN TURN AROUND AND GET UPSET WITH ME THAT I'M TALKING ABOUT THE PAST RELATIONSHIPS. DON'T ASK, AND I WON'T TELL. NOT ALL OUR PAST RELATIONSHIPS WERE TRAIN WRECKS.
Here are some good questions I have been asked?
1. Do you have any pets?
2. What's your favorite movie? What's the scariest movie you've seen? Funniest? Worst?
3. Oh you like Indian food. What's your favorite restaurant for that?
4. Where did you go to school? College? What were your favorite classes/teacher/professor?
5. What kind of music do you like?
6. What's one thing about you people would be surprised to find out?
7. Oh you're a fan of the ''raiders''? Who's you're all time favorite player?
8. What was the last book you read?
9. What's a good men's clothing store? I need to buy some new clothes and want some idea of a good place to shop. | |

Posted: 7/9/2009 3:42:23 PM | I am being myself, which is a curious and inquisitive person that is actually interested in the experiences of others-- if you don't think you have anything worthwhile telling, OK, then just don't respond.
Who said anything about canned questions? I've heard plenty of those already, mostly lame and not me. I haven't done this in several years because I was in a relationship and haven't even thought about dating until about a month ago, so you'll have to pardon me while I'm brushing off the rust.
I was asking about your experiences and what you found to be the most interesting-- not a "gotcha" or "snag" line. Just something to get the creative juices flowing. If you don't care to share your point of view, don't. And kindly, don't accuse me of not putting myself out there or not taking risks or assume that you know anything about me. | |

For example, if someone likes the film, Tango Argentina, you know they are into foreign films and that gives you something in common if you're also into foreign films. When men ask how many POF dates have you had, I think heck is there some sort of competition going on that I dont know about?
And then Im asking them the same thing and wishing I hadnt!

They usually say really liked your profile would you check mine out. So, I figure they just want a profile review. So tell them to go to Ask a Girl then its 2 up ^ , that way. Or tell them what they should fix. LOL | |
