I shall waken every morn,
And whisper into thy ear,
Of how I love thee so deeply
Oh precious and wonderful dear.
And I shall touch thee in the morn,
With gentle, loving strokes,
That will slowly waken thee,
From dreaming slumber broke.
I shall hold thee in the light,
Of early morning sun,
And kiss thy tender lips,
For thou art mine only one.
I shall love thee tenderly,
For angel thou art truly,
And beauty be upon thy soul,
And refreshes ever newly.
I shall help thee in the coming day,
To stand against the world,
I shall take the problems of thy life,
And give them such a hurl.
I shall never let thee cry again,
In tears that come from sadness.
For thou art mine to protect,
And I do it all with gladness.
I shall lay thee down upon our bed,
When eve of day comes nigh,
And whisper once again oh love,
Of how thou makes my soul cry.
For while in slumber away I'll be,
From the golden wonderful life,
And I shall miss the one I call,
My sweet and lovely wife.
I shall love thee oh Elaine,
For thou art mine to love.
I shall love thee day and night,
Upon Earth or Heaven above.
I shall never cease these yearnings,
That cause my heart to soar.
For I have loved thee throughout time,
