| Ghost hunters.. Posted: 7/12/2009 6:49:39 AM | Ok..this freaked me out this morning.
This week...I travel four times a day over train tracks to get to and from work.
The same time I was to get off work on Thursday (July 9) .. I decided to take another route to get my grandson a pizza..within a 15 minute thought to go another route other than going home.
On my way home from getting the pizza..(going southbound) the train tracks were blocked by a firetruck and five cop cars.
a few months ago on the route I choose to go to get pizza...is one mile away but the same tracks.....a man committed suicide. He parked his car and walked onto the railroad tracks and died instantly.
So...I thought ..since there is no car ..another sad person decided to take their life.
I got home and my daughter called from Ann Arbor. She asked if I was o.k.?
I asked why? and she said she just saw breaking news on the internet about a train/car accident and there were five people in the car. WOW..I thought..I would have witnessed this accident IF I was going home. I would have been THERE.
To make a long story short..this is the freaky part..
I went by yesterday coming home from work..and there was a makeshift memorial constructed by friends of these people....all five were teens and early 20's kids..
I knew the memorial was growing ..so I took my camera to the site early this morning and took pictures of the things that people were dropping off..I knew someday..someone would want those pictures.
Well I got two pics..including ONE that had the girl's (4 guys and one girl-she was 14) picture inside this heartshaped funeral flower pc..when I stepped to the right where someone handmade a cross and wrote a poem on it....my batteries drained out.
It would not turn off or on...just blanked out. wow......I heard that if ENERGY from the spirits were trying to reach out to the living...they will find any ENERGY source and try to "appear"as mist...no mist but I did feel a presence.
I made a short prayer..and bless all of the kids..told them if they see a light..to go to it..
and headed back to my car. within ten feet away from the site..my camera came back on automatically....WOW.
I never believed in the stuff..I watch GHOST HUNTERS all the time and thought they make a lot of that stuff up..
But now...those train tracks are filled with many stories and this is one of them.

| Ghost hunters.. Posted: 7/12/2009 7:17:42 AM | | Wow. I used to watch that show a few years ago and I do remember that when there was a spirit that their batteries would drain instantly. That's very interesting. | |
|
| Ghost hunters.. Posted: 7/12/2009 7:45:49 AM | | Whilst ghost hnting it is always a good idea to use "bait"...mainly a stronger power source for them to go to while you get the pictures. Or...use a camera that doesn't need batteries. | |
|
| Ghost hunters.. Posted: 7/12/2009 8:31:08 AM | There is a switch box to the right of the tracks ..I thought there would be a power source there..
But I was not "ghost hunting" ...I like photography and thought this medium would be interesting in my collage of pic's I collect...
I should have gotten a pic down the rail road tracks.. where the train stopped and rested..about a mile down the tracks..but that is another day..another time.
I really don't believe in ghosts..but I do believe that a soul can get "lost" and seem to go over and over the event until something get's it's attention.
Five young people .......no longer on this earth in a split second. I believe there is a residual energy..from five .very young..very active human beings.
A shame..... | |

| Ghost hunters.. Posted: 7/12/2009 8:49:43 AM | Anomaly sightings and mysterious happenings are something I'd like to believe in, but there's always been too much a chance of coincidence or other reasons I can think of. Well, some I couldn't suggest a cause but I don't reason "I can't find a reason THEREFORE it MUST be...". I just don't think that way. Like the camera, my camera has gone off plenty times, then gone on again a little later once the batteries have done whatever they do, the fluids collected at the bottom or whatever happens (its like my rechargaable phone). So whilst i do love hearing stories and wish i had my own, I just can't be 100% convinced. I hope to be proven wrong though. That would be exciting. | |

Easily explained.
Your camera calls to the batteries for power, the batteries are depleted to a point that they will not operate the camera but not completely dead.
After resting for a few moments the batteries reclaim enough of a charge to turn camera back on.
It is common for batteries to regain power.
Last weekend while sailing we had left on all the electronics and lights and after 3hrs of racing we where unable to start the engine as the battery did not have enough power to start the engine.
We turned everything off and after 10minutes bingo we had enough power to start the engine.

| Ghost hunters.. Posted: 7/12/2009 9:03:34 AM | | Exactly what i just said, only you articulated it waaaay better than me. lol | |
|
| Ghost hunters.. Posted: 7/12/2009 9:12:53 AM | I understand the logistics...I went to a fourth of July festival...shot off five consecutive pics from the fireworks before I had to wait a few more seconds for the batteries to regain strength.
I knew I had a least five consecutive clicks before I will stop to renew at the train site.. it goes to a screen to view..a viewing screen that shows the last pic you took.
After two clicks the screen went blank..I pressed the on..the off button and back on again..still no screen to view..no screen to focus. I knew there were new batteries in it ..so it puzzle me for a second because I should have gotten a least three more shots.
But when I walked ten feet away...the camera turned itself on .
Maybe it was the batteries....???

| Ghost hunters.. Posted: 7/12/2009 11:13:07 AM | I found out several years ago that my gr grandmother took her own life at the peterborough lift locks. The stupid thing is no-one can or will tell me her name or even my gr grandfather's name.I know absolutely nothing about them or even where to visit their grave.By doing some math I figured out she did it somewhere between 1930-1935 and so I started searching for info.I started beleiveing in this stuff about 10 years ago.I found two pics on the internet, one is older and in the middle left part of the pic there is a large shadow of a lady and after looking at the other pic I figure the sun could not cast a shadow in this direction.I put the pics in my profile if you want to see.Could this be her.Sometimes we want to see or feel someone's presence so bad that we see things that aren't there. But I also think we miss alot of the signs if we are not open to it.Keep an open mind there's alot to this world. | |

| Ghost hunters.. Posted: 7/12/2009 2:01:00 PM | When I was about 17 I lived in a basement apartment with my dad & brother. One night while my brother was away at his friends (we shared a room), I was wide awake but decided it was time to go to bed, it was after 2am.
I turned out the lights, got into bed & when I looked up I saw this white mist forming above me. I started thinking is this a spirit? I say it took about 10 seconds for this mist to form a skull face (the size of a human head) and now I went from curiosity to freaked. I put my hand through the skull face (I attacked it) and moved it around which made the mist swirl, then I reached for the bedside lamp and turned it on.
It was gone... Then I turned on the bedroom lights and couldn't sleep for the entire night.
Did my mind make it up? I know I wasn't sleepy. Weird eh? :)

In a rush...to get there and back to go to work..mom said she didnt know his license was suspended..a few days before the accident. ..he is not on the insurance policy either. She will need an attorney ASAP..because I see lawsuits when things calm down.
There are messages for the adults and kids alike...if they would just listen.

| Ghost hunters.. Posted: 7/12/2009 4:59:49 PM | | im very interested in the paranormal, since i cant find steady work and im constantly bored i took up ghost hunting and investigations. i catch wierd things on my night vision and recorders...when a digital and tape pick up the same sound that cant be heard when your betweem them 20ft apart is kinda hard to call bs on. orbs mist and sounds are my usual encounters but i have had objects move and while my partner was speaking with an evp they drew things in the dirt but when that hapened a freshly charched camera died and so did the replacement batteries i had. does it scare me? a little but my curiosity gives me that strength. | |

| Ghost hunters.. Posted: 7/12/2009 5:23:25 PM | There was a woman on these forums about a year ago who believed she had a "gift" and had once seen an spiritual aura around her ex-husband/boyfriend/whoever. The incident quickly lost credibility when she explained that this aura had appeared while he was looking at TVs in a showroom. So, he was essentially standing in front of high-powered lights. Guess the answer to that riddle(!)
A camera not working =/= ghosts
There could be any number of reasons why your camera wasn't working at that particular moment - I'm sure it happens to people all the time. Heck, if million-to-one incidents never occurred once in a while then the lottery wouldn't exist, would it?
Walk it off Scooby-Doo.

| Ghost hunters.. Posted: 7/12/2009 6:54:52 PM | Northernbill...maybe check the "morgue" (old papers) from the Peterbourough Examiner paper. Ot the Toronto Star...it may well have carried something. I think the Star can be found on-line. Those lift locks are way cool though. Lots of spooky places all over....even in Hamilton. (Check out Debyes hobbies sometime...good folks there for fun!) Lots of cities have their "haunted walks" around Halloween...lot of fun hearing the local tales and legends. Some places have 3-4 different ones! | |

| Ghost hunters.. Posted: 7/13/2009 5:15:36 PM | Thanks yna6.I've done quite a bit of searching on line. Can't find anything as yet but i will try the examiner.I'm going to go to peterborough next chance i get and spend a day looking through archives and cemetaries and try to find what i need to know. Also, i'm going to go to the lift locks and park myself overnite and see if I get any vibe or whatever.Apparently quite a few people have also taken their own life there as well. They had the lift locks and Armour hill on Creepy Canada so I suspect there would be paranormal activity there. If I could connect with someone in peterborough who might be able to help I would welcome it.Thanks and | |

| Ghost hunters.. Posted: 7/13/2009 5:44:39 PM | You will find that most fiction is just a distortion of a reality that saner minds try to shut out. There is "something else" out there. Of that I am sure. Whether God, and Satan, in the traditional sense, or if those are just faces we have placed on two opposing forces--something beyond our understanding exists. It is not to be trifled with. I have adopted the "your side of the fence, my side of the fence" with the spiritual world for the most part and feel that this is best.
Did you experience something? I don't know. Sometimes my Sansa IPOD knock-off thing stops working during my work-outs and then starts again miraculously. However, I understand it's just the battery shifting. Not me walking through the aura of Billy Bob who died crossed-out on the bench without a spotter.
|
| Ghost hunters.. Posted: 7/21/2009 8:58:11 AM | | i freely believe that there are other realities our minds are not sensory aware of. which is why i try to increase my cerebral conciousness when im wanting to observe them. | |
|
| Ghost hunters.. Posted: 7/21/2009 9:08:08 AM | There are no such thing as ghosts, or any other supernatural enitutues. When you die, thats it, lights out, fade to black. | |
|
| Ghost hunters.. Posted: 7/21/2009 1:55:52 PM | I disagree...I do believe we have a soul/spirit/energy source.. It's released when we pass as energy......ashes to ashes and dust to dust.
I believe in guardian angels....they have saved my life more than a few times....no doubt about it. My faith is strong...not necessarily religious. But it's there...
