| Why Asian?
Posted: 7/14/2009 2:23:45 AM | I told my best girlfriend (10 yrs of friendship, white, professional, single) that I am on dating websites, she said "Oh of course you will receive millions of mails everyday! You are cute! You are young! You---are---Asian!!! Men Love Asian!!!"
I was totally stunned, I asked her "Why you say that?"
Well she gave me reasons I can't understand and can't agree with.
Here I am asking friends in this wonderful forum:
Do you think Asians are desirable?
Do you think Asians are desirable just because they are Asians?
Why are Asians desirable?
What are the desirable things Asian have but Westerners don't?
What are the desirable things Westerns have but Asians don't?
Would you treat your Asian spouse the same way you would treat your Western spouse? (don't pick on my grammar, you know what I meant) (Welcome to correct my linguist mistakes, with nice wording.) | |

Another thing is Asians seem so peaceful, not that some caucasion people in general aren't peaceful, Asians of either gender to me seem more at ease.
Also, Asian women to me seem more exotic(sorry caucasion, just stating my opinion).
I have always been interested in dating an Asian woman, and a few of my friends think it would be a good fit for me.
I agree with Living, I wouldn't treat you any more respectful than I would a "Westerner"(no I am not making fun if you, LOL) I am just saying I try to treat all people the same no matter race or gender, until you get on my bad side, then you are easy for me to ignore. | |

Every person is different, so just because they are in a certain group, they aren't automatically attractive because they are in that group. For example, Grace Park? Sure! Naoko Mori? Perhaps not...
Why are Asians desirable?
From previous discussions elsewhere, the psychological reason, and I don't agree with it, is that the smaller frame of the Asian woman implies youth, which implies a better reproductive state/fertility. Superficial reasons abound, and vary by person of course. Some other reasons might be an interest in the culture. A possible negative reason might be the outdated idea that Asian women are submissive. From what I have experienced, and learned from others, is that Asians, and I see this in your profile, tend to rank service as a sign of love, more so than other things that many Westerners don't seem to, but I do. Then again, everyone is different.
What are the desirable things Asian have but Westerners don't?
Well, what interests me, might not interest the next person... I think it lies in what each person likes.

I don't know. I'm already in that box, so looking in from the other box is something I can't do. I've traveled to Japan, and seen things, but I feel I'm not really able to answer this. Or maybe I'm thinking too hard about it...

Nope. However, there are some that still think that Asian women are submissive, and those are the relationships that I always feel bad for. Now if I had a CR-1 spouse I would most likely be more protective of her, till she had adapted, and comfortable enough with life here to go out on her own.

For me it's not all about what is on the outside but what is truely on the inside and what I call knee jerk reaction. It's a huge give away of what a person is really like. Oh, don't get me wrong... outside is very important... I am a guy and guys can be jerks. ( I said CAN so don't come and flame me like I know some guys will.) hahaha
OP don't take too much in what someone says about a race or culture or anything like that. It's all about what YOU bring to the table. The question is, are you a snak, full meal deal or dessert? Ok, I hope that was not just funny in my own head.  | |

Ok, I've heard from a lot of guys that they tend to prefer asian women because they are submissive, passive, and if their comprehension of english is poor, this is a benefit because guys don't like to talk. I think some guys are stuck in the 1950s and they expect to find an asian version of June Cleaver from Leave it to Beaver who will always greet you at the door wearing an apron and a smile. Me on the other hand, I like women who are sometimes a bit more dominant, and that whole stay-in-the-kitchen wife thing isn't really my thing...plus if I can't communicate, its pointless, so if there are language barriers, it won't work for me.
Again, these are all really really broad stereotypes as well. I've seen ugly and beautiful people of all races and nationalities. | |

Posted: 8/2/2009 12:49:24 AM | I've dated Asian women, and have almost married one. Not to push a stereotype, but they are great listeners and show a great personality. Very intelligent, most Asian women I've met have a positive attitude and outlook on life, and their youthful good looks continue even without the need for plastic or silicone.
Most Asian girlfriends also appreciate what a man does for her. This, I believe, is cultural, and is impossible to quantify, but it's something I look for in any relationship. Men make sacrifices, also, and that has to be acknowledged. | |

These are men who aren't considered VERY attractive by American women but they feel because they are white, Asian women like them. I've been out with them and they definitely get looked at HARD Asian women
