Why don't boys like girls who like to play the guitar and who listen to heavy metal? Girls who wear baseball hats, who like sports, etc...who don't get 'scared' or pretend to be, at stupid things? if someone could explain it to me...sorry to sound ****y but it really pisses me off. | |

Girls who play guitar have hard fingers. Thats not so great all the time you know.
Baseball hats = Hair our fingers will get caught in.
Skateboard chicks typicaly dont wear skirts. So, of course there out.
Heavy metal girls cut themselves, and only chicks dig scars.
Girls who like sports are obviously spys.
Girls who dont get scared when they should disallow us the chance to be MANly men. And bravely throw rocks at that squirrel thats terrifying you. Unless of course your talking about not being scared by that cougar, witch would be fine, because then you can fight it off while I run like a chickensh!t.

When you are a tomboy you are essentially lessening your feminine appeal and therefore a lot of guys will be less attracted. For initial attraction a tomboy is always going to get the short end of the stick, that's life. If you can get a connection going on then you have a chance. | |

WRONG, and I call bullshit on this one, heavy metal chicks rule and do NOT cut themselves you MUST be confused with the emo types.
Well not all men have something against Tomboys . Myself would prefer a woman who was a Tomboy and not afraid to get dirty
Gotta agree here, OP it's not that "guys" have any issues with tomboys, it's the "boys" in your age range that do NOT yet know what the hell they are looking for and are missing a chance to get to know a great girl like you. Try looking around for a different type of guy or in a slightly different age range and good luck | |

I think that younger guys are more interested in show, and they don't think that a tomboy is show material. Older guys are more interested in maturity. Heavy metal and baseball caps don't always speak of this. If you are having the problems that you appear to be having, then maybe you can be open to a little change. Let the guys see you in apparel and acting in ways other then tomboyish. Show them that you can be Barbie when the need is there, or Mike Tyson, when that need is there. | |

Posted: 7/15/2009 6:43:52 PM | You are dealing with guys who are more likely still figuring out what a guys and relationships are supposed to be. They default to the societal cliches because of this uncertainty, and are more likely to see you as threatening/competing against their masculinity than as a compliment to it.
As I see it you have two options;
1- try to feme it up a bit and atrract a boy. This will probably work at getting a boy, but makes it less likely that you will be happy in the relationship. Still, even less that perfect relationships are ones you can learn from.
2- Be yourself and accept that some people and infact most people are not really your style. Focus on spending time with people that you enjoy and let relationships develop or not as they will. I would be surprised if you made it to your mid 20's with out finding that you have your choice of several guys most of the time.
Obviously these options are not mutually exclusive. I reccomend both . | |

1) Guys like it when a woman can talk sports,
2) Guys like it when they share musical tastes,
3) Guys like it when a woman dresses relaxed,
4) Guys like it when a woman dresses up and can show her off at a party,
5) Guys like it when they can talk comfortably with a woman,
6) Guys like it when they can trust a woman,
7) Guys like it when they do the simplest things like just smiling - we remember it and think about the little things she does throughout the day,
8) Guys like it when they just connect with a woman - when we love them and they love us in return.

Problem is I'm in my 30's and the tomboys I meet are the daughters of women who want to date me. Not good..... for obvious reasons
