| What are you looking for in a picture? Posted: 7/16/2009 10:52:04 PM | Hi!
I was wondering, what kind of things do you like to see in the picture section of a profile? Studio pics? Spontaneous pics? Self portraits made with a cell phone in front of a mirror (I hope not...)?
Thanks. | |

| What are you looking for in a picture? Posted: 7/16/2009 11:36:04 PM | I like the outdoors, so I like to see outdoor activity shots that hold my interest.
I like to see their interests, and to see one that allows their smile or personality to come
through. Casual (attire) photos are best IMO.

| What are you looking for in a picture? Posted: 7/16/2009 11:46:57 PM | | For a default pic, you should have a head shot with a big smile on your face. We like to think you are happy, but we also like to know how many teeth you have. You other pictures should never include the cell phone/mirror pic. Studio pics are a little stuffy, so candid pics of you doing something you enjoy are best. Do not post pics of you with other girls. Ever. | |

| What are you looking for in a picture? Posted: 7/16/2009 11:52:41 PM | | A picture of a man with a nice smile, some outdoor shots or hobbies so I can get a feel for who he is. Never liked those self pics in front of a mirror, but if that is all he has then thats fine too. A well written profile with some personal details about the person or something funny will capture my attention more that just a nice pic. | |

| What are you looking for in a picture? Posted: 7/16/2009 11:57:04 PM | I like a nice clear shot that shows the face and more than one picture to give a better idea of the man behind the shots.
It is easier to say what I dont like in a picture.
*the ones where every picture they are wearing a hat or the top of their head is cropped off. *pictures where they are wearing sunglasses in every picture *pictures where they have no shirt on and their head is cropped off *pictures where the background is some ratty looking basement or messy room with no thought to what we, the public are seeing. *pictures where someone has been chopped off but some of their hair, or arm or face is showing *pictures with men in their skivvies.

| What are you looking for in a picture? Posted: 7/16/2009 11:57:10 PM | | I love the cleavage shots....I know I know....so sue me. Thats what my maker gave me eyes for, at least thats what I use them for anyways. | |

| What are you looking for in a picture? Posted: 7/17/2009 1:50:32 AM | There are a lot of things I can say I don't want to see. I don't want to see your dog, love dogs, but that is not a picture of you. I don't want to see your car, your house, your motor cycle, or you with fifteen other people where I have to guess which one is you. As well like another poster stated, pictures with another woman is a turn off, and unless you can say it is your mom or sister, and that was the best you could do, ok, but wedding photos, or photos from a long time ago, not helpful.
Clear pictures, a good head shot, without sunglasses or a ball cap that covers half your face. The photo pics in the mirror are usually pretty bad, especially with a towel barely draped over the package...
Studio pics are ok, but spontaneous ones are more true to life.
I personally will take note if a person has alcohol pics in most their photos, says a lot, and for me that generally gives an impression that that is a persons main stay of entertainment, however it isn't mine.
I think what is important is that there are at least one or two clear recent photo's so a person isn't shocked, and or feeling like the person they see in real life looks nothing like their photo.
Sometimes some people are not photogenic, I am one of those people, I often heard that I looked so much better in person... Was that false flattery, or true, I would hope it was true, cause false flattery is not flattering..

| What are you looking for in a picture? Posted: 7/17/2009 2:26:51 AM | I want to see what you look like every day.
What do you look like going to the grocery store or post office?
Save your "glam" shot for the hall wall and you can glance at it now and again and think how well you clean up.
If you take a pic with an animal I want it alive unless it is a record size fish and not to crazy about those.
If you normally wear a suit and tie every day then a picture in one is good. If not, leave your Sunday best pic in front of the fireplace off.
No pics with you on stage, or in the courtroom waving your arms around, in your scrubs, a portrait in uniform of days gone by, school days, 3 year old cowboy outfit with Roy Rogers pistols, sunsets, or a pic of you a mile away on the beach.
At least one face shot and one body shot with clothes on, not in front of the bathroom mirror. Check similar threads on pics you will get a million answers.

| What are you looking for in a picture? Posted: 7/17/2009 2:39:01 AM | Candid pictures ~ you, in your element... whatever that may be. I'm instantly turned off when I see a display of monetary items without human involvement, ick! And please, whatever you do .. DO NOT post pictures of your kids ~ speaks volumes about your judgement. | What are you looking for in a picture? Posted: 7/17/2009 3:41:40 AM | Agree, you want to go for candid. Pose shots are BS - do anything you can to avoid those photos with your arm outstretched on the shutter, or worse (women), the shot looking down your cleavage. The only reason I have two of me seated is because shots of me are so rare and I'm almost always the photographer in the group (except when I'm riding, where I'm followed by a professional photographer).
Ideal shot(s) should show your entire body or at least to your waist, though these can be *complemented* (but not replaced) with head and shoulders shots. It's preferable that you're also the subject of the shot - there can be other people in the shot, but they shouldn't be as predominant (I don't want to have to need to try to figure out or guess which is you).
Having a shot (or two) where you are not concentrating on the camera is also a good idea (IMO).

| What are you looking for in a picture? Posted: 7/17/2009 4:22:04 AM | | I rarely get picture fullfillment from womens pictures. The part i look at first in any woman is her butt to make sure it is rounded and filled out. No matter how good the woman, if her butt is too small i know i wouldn't be happy with her. | |

| What are you looking for in a picture? Posted: 7/17/2009 2:04:57 PM | Those bathroom shots have got to go! Sunglasses? Hats? Motorcycles? Pictures of you with your mom or best friend or ex (whom of course is totally hot).. Just put up some pics of you smiling naturally and please, keep them current. | |

| What are you looking for in a picture? Posted: 7/18/2009 10:08:30 AM | Thanks for all the good feedback. I am working on my new pics.
In the meanwhile I uploaded some more pics but they really suck. What I mean is that the pics that I have are crispy clear but when they got uploaded they look grainy. Do I have to do anything special to format your pictures before uploading them? I feel really jealous of all the nice shots everybody else posts and it looks like I am trying to hide something by posting grainy pics.
Thanks. | |

| What are you looking for in a picture? Posted: 7/18/2009 4:36:42 PM | Glad I found this thread...
I was wondering what the ladies think of a guy who is TOO GOOD LOOKING?
I was reading this guy's profile a couple of days ago, when lo and behold... I get a message from him saying how much he likes my profile and pix... JUST as I was about to do the same to him!!! What a coincidence, right?
Well, let me tell you... I am a bit apprehensive about this guy... I HAD to ask whether that was him in the pics or not... he is TOO GORGEOUS... Model like... and like they say...if it's too good to be true...it probably is...
Well, guess what? After I asked him if it was truly him, in a very nice way I might add, he STOPPED responding to me...
I also reported another 'fish' that had pictures of RALPH MACCHIO as his own!!! Did anybody see him? I don't want to post the name he used...'cause he has been 'banned' since...
What is it with guys and these pix? I'm totally confused!!! Because you know da** well WE are eventually gonna find out wether it's YOU or not!!!

| What are you looking for in a picture? Posted: 7/18/2009 10:19:52 PM | And to add something I haven't seen anyone else put down yet... pictures that aren't sideways - learn how to use the rotate function people! | |

| What are you looking for in a picture? Posted: 7/18/2009 10:29:20 PM | A picture that looks like you.
I don't mind the phone pictures or unprofessional shots so long as they are clear.
The problem with spontaneous pictures is that they can be unclear or not necessarily look like the person because they may have been either facing away/doing an activity far from the camera (action shot) or making a funny face.
If you have pictures with hoodies/hats/sunglasses or pets in front of your face or on your head be sure to have one clear recent shot of just your face available for exchange or a webcam. Although if you don't have a picture of your face, some women may not contact you.

| What are you looking for in a picture? Posted: 7/19/2009 7:36:13 AM | | A clear head pic with teeth showing - as in, a smile. :) One full length shot - if it's a group picture, let us know which one is you! Nothing wrong with mirror shots in my opinion. | |
|
| What are you looking for in a picture? Posted: 7/19/2009 7:56:21 AM | Definitely NOT studio/professional pics... it's different if it's a pic that was maybe taken for a business card, but when I see guys with pics that look like they came from Glamour Shots or something like that.. it literally gags me and I turn red with embarrassment for them. I prefer pics that are spontaneous or that just show the guy being his normal self. | |
|
| What are you looking for in a picture? Posted: 7/19/2009 8:15:21 AM | | Clear pics of a guy (clothed) that are spontaneous. Him engaging in hobbies he enjoys. Self potraits are fine just no cell phone in front of a mirror ones and no pics of a guy drunk or with other women. Turn offs! | |
