| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 7/17/2009 6:35:46 PM | OK football fanatics, I need to see your predictions for the upcoming season. September will be here before you know it and Saturdays will be booked until January.
Of course the Vols have Lane Kifflen and he has upped their training schedule along with other changes in their program. Losing 11 scholarship players due to the rigorous training schedule and requirements.
Robert Ayers is out for the season along with another receiver. Who will be the q-back for the upcoming season? Will Jonathan Crompton step up to fill Eric Ange's cleats or will Jeremy Stephens replace him?
Can't make my SEC predictions until after I see the first game of the season. However, on other boards I have picked correctly for the last 3 years.
All SEC teams will have a hard time following Myers and Tebow. However Florida's glory season will end with Tebow's graduation. Will they start substituting in late quarters to see who can replace the awesome Tebow or will they make the same mistake as other teams and use up their star quarterback depending on him to carry them to another glory season. Will all of the minor misdemeanors the gators have racked up off campus affect the game, I don't think so , but it is a concern for the alumni and the image that the Gators try to maintain.
Vanderbilt - I always pull for the underdogs and they did great last year, surprising everyone.
South Carolina - alas I don't think Spurrier can coax anymore out of the Gamecocks then what they already have.
Georgia - no Stafford, no Knowshon, no idea what is going on there.
LSU - sorry Perilloux should have had better discipline and they would have made a run last year. Alas Ryan is playign for some small school in Florida which will remain nameless.
Alabama - just a wait and see team, but I think they will do better this year with the choices teams are making for quarterbacks, except for Tebow.
More later, so how about some input ya'll.

| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 8/7/2009 2:36:25 PM | | georgia has joe cox as the new starter and a decent line up....this is the year i hold back on predictions for my team, hopefully somebody knocks the wind out of teblow and a better team takes the reins. | |
|
| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 8/7/2009 6:24:11 PM | The Big XII could very well end just as messy as last season
I think Texas beats OU again but they have Oklahoma state away a few weeks later, a team that looks very scary this year and they always seem to play Texas close.
OU playes Oklahoma state at home where they're almost unstoppable
If Oklahoma state beats Georgia which i think they will then the Big XII south could end up in a 3 way tie again
Texas tech won't be inn it this year they've lost far to many players
A&M will finish last
Baylor is going to have a pretty good team but that gap is just to big to the top 3 teams in this division
|
| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 8/8/2009 5:30:00 AM | Florida will be loaded with all 11 starters returning on defense. Tebow will win the Heisman AGAIN and the Gators will win the National Championship game AGAIN. | |
|
| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 8/8/2009 6:49:24 PM | Florida was lucky they got OU and not Texas last year in the BCS game, you can throw a FCS team at OU in a bowl game and they'll lose, that's just what they do in bowl games.
Texas will win it all this year and McCoy will win the Heisman, they have a better team this year then the team they had last year which was 1 dropped int away from playing for the title
|
| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 8/8/2009 10:27:07 PM | Go Bucks!..... I just grad from there this spring but.. I think Penn st is the Big 10 Champs this yr.....
Far as Florida there too Good lol.. they cant win it again!
Va Tech is my team im riding this year... { Well in a gambling aspect i mean }
|
| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 8/9/2009 2:24:43 PM | . Go Bucks!..... I just grad from there this spring but.. I think Penn st is the Big 10 Champs this yr.....
USC will run the table . They may have a real battle with Oregon but will win. They may have a weaker conference but will be in the national hunt
|
| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 8/10/2009 3:36:37 PM | I don't think we are checking all the boxes on the SEC here...There are more than just these teams.
What about Ole Miss? AK? KY? Auburn? just to name a few. Now I am new to GA and from SC so my thoughts may not be popular but here they are.
FL - Forget it, until Tebow is gone we are all dead meat SC - If Spurrier doesn't deliver this year he is probably out, but he may shock some, don't count my gamecocks completely out of it Vandy - Their Swan song is over GA - Hard to say, thier coach says anyone who earned an uniform will play, but is that real or is it tricks. Time will tell LSU - Done Tenn - Done Bama - This is the year Saban proves himself as genius or fluke Ole Miss - I HATE Houston Nutt so let's just hope last year was someone else's recruiting but probably not...he's like Cher, he'll never go away AK, KY, Auburn - Been quiet or ESPN is biased
Hope I didn't offend anyone but I am a true college football junkie and these are only a southern girl's perspective...i've been wrong before...happy football everyone

| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 8/10/2009 4:02:32 PM | Well up here in the PAC 10, things are looking up. I don't think theres any chance that the University of Washington or Washington State could possibly do as bad as last season. Oregon and Oregon State are both gonna win games, and I think the Oregon Ducks will win the PAC 1o. We are sick of USC up here, and every other team from California come to think of it.
The PAC 10 probably wont win the National Championship this season, but I do think we are gonna knock some good teams out of the running.
|
| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 8/10/2009 4:51:10 PM | Ur Right USC.... ur trojans will be up there again..... What i have read is Cal should be ok { Plus they get USC @ Home}... If Rb Best Stays healthy for them.... ORegon got that Qb back ,Moselli or somthing like that.. PAc 10 will be good this year.....
REDNECk i think the Beavers will be ok too this yr.. qb is back and dont they got alot of the "D" back?...
I Think the SEC will be real strong this yr....
As Far as ESPN.. worst place too get Info b/c they just Bandwagon one team in any sport and give most coverage to that team....
I Think Ole Miss is the 2 nd best team in the SEc behind Fla.....
Auburn will be much improved this year and I think Ark will be a .500 team....
Kentucky well i think its gonna be a bad yr for them along with vandy!
South carolina.. well i think this is make or break yr for spurrier.. Been mediocre so far... Depends on how much qb Garcia improves....
LSU hmm once again i think there "D" will be there weak point again this year, But I can see them giving Fla a good game at home.....
TeNN has fallen very fast in last cple yrs... With Lane Kiffin at the Helm ekkk dunno what too expect but with his Dad as "D" cord.. maybe they will throw alot of schemes on opponents Offenses.....
I Really think Va Tech has the Dark Horse Shot @ The BCS Title... but first they gotta get past Bama....
|
| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 8/11/2009 5:01:37 PM | | This is going to go down as the greatest college year in history with TEBOW, MCCOY and BRADFORD all returning but the Gators will go undefeated and win their 3 championship in the last 4 years making them a total dynasty under Tebow. Tebow wins the heisman for the second time. | |
|
| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 8/11/2009 5:04:29 PM | | IMO Chad it might be a good college year but cant really be the greatest Until they fix the BCS system its a Crook..... You never really get a clear cut true #1 under this Horrid Scheme.... Let them Decide it on the Field! | |
|

| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 8/12/2009 1:41:39 AM | | Yea, they definitely need to have an 8 team playoff. Last yeat utah, texas and usc all got robbed from a title shot and definitely deserved at least a shot. | |
|
| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 8/12/2009 4:51:25 PM | Yup Chad.. i think 8 teams would be perfect.. Id go for 16 teams too but if you really look at it theres prolly 8 that only need to be in it......
Im sure Utah woulda been the#8 seed last year but way they played against Bama WOW that woulda been fun to see them in first round against FLA.....
Saying all that I do think FLa was best team last year but USC "d" at end of year was unreal.. Texas Was playing great..
Even though Ohio st and cincy made a bCS game last yr i prolly wouldnt think they woulda been in top 8.... this is how ida saw it:
#1 Fla vs #8 Utah
#4 Texas Vs #5 Bama
#3 Usc Vs #6 Penn St
#2 Oklahoma Vs #7 Va Tech
.........................................................................................
Big Blow to Va tech running game... Rb Darrel Evans Blew out his knee Yesterday in practice... gone for the year Ughhh!
|
| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 8/12/2009 4:52:36 PM | Don't see anyone talking Big 10! I am going out on a limb - Michigan with Rod. and the new crew having time to put together their plan just might ..... wait..... BEAT OHIO STATE!!!! | |
|
| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 8/12/2009 5:38:35 PM | lol Sue.. Anything can happen and everyone is entitled to there own opinion but If Mich beats OSU this year ill walk too Ann Arbor Naked and shake Rich Rodz Hand ...
Rich Rid is a Bad coach, Hes a sell out that blames everyone except himself.. Just ask the Peeps in Wv about that :}....I think Mich is starting a True Frosh at qb THis year?
BiG 10 prolly is gonna Have a down year.. Penn St will be good but Other then that...
OSU took a hard hit with Lb Tyler Moellher going to be out the whole season
|
| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 8/13/2009 3:41:18 PM | A lot of people are liking Iowa as a darhorse in the conference. Road trips to State College and Columbus though.
I'm curious to see the effects of a new stadium will have on the Gophers. Late in the season the Minnesota weather may be an equalizer.
Will Danny Hope get the Boilers bowl eligible in his first season? Does Penn State go to E Lansing this year?
|
| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 8/13/2009 9:40:52 PM | Husker.... Penn St does go to East Lansing Nov 21.....
Thats right The gophers got that New Home.. WOW Nov In Minny ekkk I hope they have a good Running game for the later part of schedule.... Qb Weber is back right? also I think WR Decker is too.....
Every year IOWA is Picked High And Every year IOWA Disappoints in the big 10.. IMO
|
| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 8/14/2009 10:04:56 AM | I think this may be the year for Fla's undefeated season. Tebow Has said" I'm gonna try to throw more and be more pro style but if that doesn't work I'll just run" I'd say expect more low scoring games from fla but the opponents are gonna be held to little numbers too. I may be wrong it might work out great and end up like the 96 season with the average margin over 30 points. I'd say Fla vs. Big 12 winner for the title with tebow having the game of his life in the championship dont be surprised if you see a 500 yard or more game from him. some people say that next year fla will be weak but these people havent seen the tebow look a like running back thats coming in next year from tebows high school
not sure his name but I met him last time I was in g-ville he was havin dinner with tebow and meyer at dockside

| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 8/14/2009 6:20:31 PM | I beg to differ - LAST year was erasable! I believe coaches are saying - Let's get it off the books and off our backs and move on & Pull the Big 10 back into the conversation! | |
|
| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 8/14/2009 6:46:50 PM | this year comes down to 4 teams - florida, usc, alabama, and oklahoma in that order just to round out the top 5 i'll put texas in the mix
go razorbacks lol | |
|
| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 8/14/2009 11:21:45 PM | I think the Big12 will have some fun shoot outs with Texas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.... The ACC is pretty good, Big 10 will be Ohio State, Penn State, and maybe Iowa.... Still look for a Utah, BYU, TCU or Boise State to go undefeated.... and the SEC will be following Florida... Bama, Ole Miss, maybe Georgia... and I'll wait and see where LSU is?
If Florida doesn't go undefeated I'll be really surprised... They have the weakest sched. The 4 out of conference games are all at home... and the only real challenge if any is a ranked Florida State in that group. They only have 4 away games in which LSU is the only ranked team, and they play Georgia on a neutral field. Plus... They don't even have the second and third best SEC teams on their sched. (Alabama & Ole Miss-ranked lower than LSU, but better) 7 home games, 4 away, and 1 neutral
Rankings............
1. Florida 2. Texas 3. Oklahoma 4. USC 5. Alabama 6. Ohio State 7. Virginia Tech 8. Penn State 9. LSU 10. Mississippi 11. Oklahoma State 12. California 13. Georgia 14. Oregon 15. Georgia Tech 16. Boise State 17. TCU 18. Utah 19. Florida State 20. North Carolina 21. Iowa 22. Nebraska 23. Notre Dame 24. Brigham Young 25. Oregon State
Florida Sched...............
Charleston Southern Troy Tennessee @ Kentucky @ LSU Arkansas @ Mississippi State vs. Georgia Vanderbilt @ South Carolina Florida International Florida State
USC Sched....................
San Jose State @ Ohio State @ Washington Washington State @ California @ Notre Dame Oregon State @ Oregon @ Arizona State Stanford UCLA Arizona
USC has 3 out of Conf. at Ohio State and at Notre Dame who are ranked. They are playing 5 ranked teams, 4 of those away. 6 home games and 6 away. At Cal, At Notre Dame, Oregon State, At Oregon, At Arizona State..... That will be a tough road. only to come home to improved Stanford, UCLA & Arizona.
If SC goes undefeated with that schedule...
|
| NCAA Football Season 2009 Posted: 8/15/2009 4:20:04 PM | Thanx for all the info there JAck ....
Usc gotta replace alot on "D". Plus THe qb spot is up in arms... but they got the Players to reload!
