It seems that they have it all figured out.
The international bankers are not just interested in stealing our tax money.
They are more interested in stealing everyones countries and gaining complete control of everything in the WORLD.

i dont think its internet rumor, there is movement towards a global irs so a global currency wouldnt be that far of a stretch. heres where the hatred comes firin at me...i support global currency, think about how days of old gold and silver coins were traded world wide, freedom of travel and borders meant where the country ended and another became.

They just had this on a TV news program. You know when serious news reporters talk about it and believe it, then ....ya jes never know. There has been talk about a new currency for America called the Amero. I think anything is possible under the stress we are going thru per this economic crisis.

This is when politicians sneak in things...and the frightened people follow...

All good energy

From TFA:

[This disclosure signals the end of the dollar. Just to remind you, it has been alleged in this story, that there will be a "bankers' holiday" in September, where all withdrawals are frozen, to be followed by the introduction of a totally new global currency when they reopen.
Anyone who prefers to have cash in their pockets better take heed! Tomorrow will be very different from today. Better hurry with those last minute purchases of shotguns and canned goods.

Can we come back to you folks in September for an admission that your tin foil hats are sometimes worn just a wee bit too tightly?

The US Dollar is now at a 14 month low. Gold and Silver are very Bullish at the moment. Some people are projecting gold to hit around $5000.00 a ounce. I'm thinking maybe more like $3000.00 a ounce in a few years. I personally think the Dollar will go lower. First we had the housing bubble crisis then the banking crisis. Next up...the Dollar crisis. A currency crisis(dollar) will be like dropping a atom bomb on our economy. We have a 70%consumption based economy. When the dollar crisis shows it's ugly head we will see consumers further tighten their spending even more. People will only buy the essentials when their money is greatly devalued. And that will cause more unemployment, possibly higher taxes on home owners and higher interest rates. Yes I think there will be a global currency. But more in the future. Not yet. We may see a regional currency. But that to is probably a few years away. I personally do not think the dollar will be around 20 years from now.

Peter Schiff was right.

The money is accounted as numbers. Numbers are the global currency. The local currencies are numbers with conditions applied. If you just used numbers directly there would be a certain amount that represented wealth as it actually exists. Regional currencies are for when you want to live divided up into countries, giving control of the economy to governments. Business uses numbers, government uses currencies.

Technically, they already have it. The BIS already has a global currency.
If the dollar continues to tank, and if China keeps ****ing, and if the petrodollar system ends....yeah I think that something big could happen. Maybe not for a while, but you never know. Another derivatives failure and there might be no way to bail out the banks next time, and that would probably spell the complete demise of the dollar.

You don't need a tinfoil hat to believe in the possibility of a global currency. The moneymen would love to be able to pull it off. Well, they DID pull it off for many years; the dollar was the global currency. But they fu**ed that up by getting too greedy. Or maybe they planned this entire meltdown so that they could begin the transition to a global currency. I wouldn't put anything past the gangster capitalists.

Told you so a few weeks ago.

As far as it "never happening", this is exactly the same thing most people told the guy who invented the first plastic money - The Diner's Club Card.

Today, plastic is more common than cash. But - "that never happened". Never say never.
I'm sure Germans in World War II told themselves the Deutchsmark would never fall.
Shortly after, they were carting wheelbarrowfuls around to buy a loaf of bread.

Make no mistake - the idiots in charge of our money, despite their calm exteriors, are scared shitless because NOTHING is going the way they planned or thought it would. Even that bat Christina Romer, the chief White House economist, is now saying (yesterday) this is as good as the stimulus will make it, and it will be this way for at least another year, if not longer. Six months ago she and her friends at The Fed and The Treasury were saying howunder control everything is and how quickly we'd all recover - as I said, "Idiots". A sure path to a worsening problem is denying it exists, which most of them did until it was too painfully obvious to deny.

right. the Dow hit 10k and housing starts are the highest in two years. things are awful. I think its pretty funny that we spent eight years running the economy into the ground and now want kick Obama for not fixing it in a year.

anybody was "calm" in the midst of the biggest economic collapse in history was on some sort of pills. however, what we really needed in the midst of this was a government running around panicking.

if we recover from this disaster in less than ten years (or ever) it will be a miracle.

stop electing idiot republicans who think that the financials can manage themselves and who try to hide the problems until they are out of office.

^^It's both parties that are ruining this nation. I'm not sure if you are aware that Bill Clinton played a major role in the mortgage mess. He's the president that repealed the Glass-Steagall act or also known as the banking Act of 1933. Clinton essentially deregulated the banks by signing the Republican led Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act into law in November 1999. Right before leaving office...

What we need to do is to stop re-electing all politicians who do not hold true to their campaign promises.

Here's a link to a left leaning website that is critical on Clinton's role in the mortage meltdown.

http://www.progressivehistorians.com/2007/11/bill-clintons-role-in-mortgage-crisis.html

Yes the Dow hit 10,000 as of lately. But that's mainly due to speculation and very low stock prices. The dow was over 14,000 when Bush W was in office and again most of that was due to speculation. The housing market has picked up and much of that is due to very low home prices and the $8,000 dollar first time homeowner credit. Home sales will probably drop when the housing credit is no longer available. Auto sales picked up when the "cash for clunkers" program was going on. And predictably
auto sales fell when cash for clunkers was no longer available. Too much personal debt is a big reason that we Americans are in the mess. And the government is essentially "bribing" us to take on even more personal debt with credits like cash for clunkers and the 1st time home owners credit. We need to rebuild our personal savings. That will be painful but necessary. We also need home prices to keep falling. That sucks for current home owners. But when homes are cheaper and more affordable people can pay them off faster and be able to save more money for their retirement.

However. If you think the markets are only going to go up and that a global currency is nothing but fluff. Then I say invest, invest, invest.

Gold is now around $1094.00 a oz thanks to India's central bank which has purchased 200 tons of gold bullion from the IMF.

Inflation and a US Dollar crisis will probably be the next problem to hit the American economy.

(There is a similar thread in the current events forums titled-Moving The World Toward A Global Tax And Currency. It was started in August 2005)

OP

The BIS has had a plan in place for quite some time now. The only problem is that no one seems to know who the "players" are in the BIS. Added to that, the BIS's ties to Nazi Germany, after WWII, adds to skepticism that a global currency will ever take root.

The dollar IS recovering. My best guess would be that, as the dollar gains strength, discussion on the global currency issue will dissipate, much like the panicy discussion that took place during the "fuel crisis" of the 70s -- three decades later, car manufacturers were producing SUVs and Trucks like****oaches in a greasy restaurant. More importantly, folks were buying the gas guzzlers like policemen eating free doughnuts.

If tey went to a world-wide "hard" currency, I'd go for it. No more of the metal "wafers" for coins and paper money backed by ...more paper! Gold and silver coinage, paper backed by gold or silver, and exchangeable for such at any bank.

Anyone see any "one dollar silver" certificates from the States? They weren't pulled out of circulation that long ago.

This is what is needed. Especially on a world stage!

I have read that Timothy Geithner is tied to the BIS.
Not a big surprise.
