ARE PLANNED PARTIES A WASTE OF TIME?

It seems that if you aren't in a big city, POF members won't travel outside the limits to attend your smaller parties. There have been planned events in smaller areas but the results are questionable to the host/hostesses that put a lot of time and effort into making a gathering worth the while for the POF guests.

This brings me to wonder why some are on this site. By results I've personally seen, many invites turn into unread/deleted message.

Why are you on this site?
I refuse to attend a party
I'm strictly one on one meetings
Parties are the only safe way I will meet someone on POF
I'm here just for the eye candy with no intentions of meeting someone
I see nobody good enough for me

I think quite a few of us have went to other cities for parties...heck, I have went to other states even and I saw about 10 people from Indy at the last one I went to in Illinois. It is just hard for most of us because at our ages we are all almost single parents who work all week and have so much to do on weekends that some times we can't even make the ones here. And it isn't because we don't want to go but just because life comes up.

The parties are hard work and it does get discouraging when you don't get a good crowd or people complain but I'm sure anyone who has come to one of your parties appreciates that you put forth the effort and you obviously love doing so that makes it all worth it!

To be quite honest, I drink when I go to a party if they serve it and the thought of driving in that condition too great of a distance, just doesn't work for me. Yeah I know I could rent a hotel room, but I too have a teen ager at home and wouldn't leave her overnight. I tend to leave the parties in Indy before midnight as it is and can get a driver should I need one. If I were to go out of town, I'd be on my own, that's the reason I don't go, not because of any other reason. I wish I could, some of them have sounded like a lot of fun. Maybe if we got a group to go, car pool and either share a room or a designated driver, I'd be more inclined to go.

Parties can be fun, most of the time. You cannot predict who will attend or for what purpose. That is the risk of the public. Still, there are enough people who enjoy the time to be with their friends and to relax.
Are they worthwhile? Depends on who you ask. I enjoy personally the company (and it is a notch above the bars)!

Well heck Energy,

I had planned on going to that there party at Greencastle, but I had a date with a POF lady. Wish now I had gone to the party. Ever meet someone for the first time and just know within a few seconds that they aren't right? Well shucks Energy, just keep on keeping on and have the time of your life
