| A little help please.... Posted: 7/21/2009 6:34:52 AM | | I have asked for constructive critism before and made many changes to my profile based on the advice I was given. However I'm still not having any joy. I have sent many a message, but I still don't seem to be getting any replies to them. So once again I appeal to to you all for further advice. | |

| A little help please.... Posted: 7/21/2009 8:03:03 AM | Its hard to read...you need to break it up into a few seperate paragraphs. It comes across as kind of "blah"...
Um, sorry you're not "having any joy"....here's a banana for you...

| A little help please.... Posted: 7/21/2009 8:15:05 AM | I'd agree break it down a bit.. also with all due respect get some more pics of you up and take the dogs down, they're going to date you, not your dogs.
Something like this would work better. I've put notes in brackets for you)
These things are always hard to fill out. But here we go......
I like going for drives out and about and at any time of the day. I love walking my two dogs (actually they walk me!). I enjoy cinema, dvd's and books (big Terry Pratchett fan).
When I get the money together I am gonna try and restore by beloved Volkswagen (what kind of Volkswagen ????)
I have a broad taste in music, :- Kasabian, Kaiser Cheifs, The Prodigy, Dance, Metallica and The Gorillaz to name a few.
Next year I am planning to have a bit of a career change (into what ???), so I('ve) got some courses I am going to attend.Hopefully that will enable me to become self employed. Thats the dream anyway.
I have a wry sense of humour and I will always try to cheer people up when they're down. I can be stontaneous and off wall sometimes, but I still enjoy quiet times at home.
I am big hearted, honest, trustworthy and also loyal.
It is quite hard to think of what else to say, except I really am multi-faceted and it would really shine through to those people who to get to know me. Thankyou for reading this far. I hope to hear from you. xxx
Good luck and I hope this helps you.

| A little help please.... Posted: 7/21/2009 8:53:21 AM | | Yeah I kow about the paragraphing, only it seems that using playstation3 web browser I seem not to have the luxury of paragraphs for some reason. Unfortunately for me this is not something I can fix. I have in the technical forums and no-one seems to have a sensible answer. Anyway thanks for your help I'll take your other critiques on board. | |

| A little help please.... Posted: 7/21/2009 9:00:55 AM | You're a weldor, awesome. Thats a manly job! But when i see you i see 'Friendly IT guy'.
I think you need a shave, a eyebrow trim, a good haircut done by someone who knows what they're doing, and a wardrobe change.
Then, once thats accomplished, some pics of you in social settings enjoying yourself.
Hell, maybe some pics of you welding.

| A little help please.... Posted: 7/21/2009 2:24:14 PM | | Thanks I'll try to do those things. Do you reckon women really go for dirty welding types? | |
|
| A little help please.... Posted: 7/21/2009 10:09:09 PM | You can try posting a photo of you in your welding gear, so long as we can see your smiling face, and see what response you get. The current photo is really almost as bad as a passport photo or mug shot. Hurry up on the smiling new picture!!
In the profile body, you mention a new career being self-employed. Are you able to give a clue what it may be? You never know if this is something your viewer may have in common with you.
I wonder if you did your profile in another screen, like a document screen and did all the editing and spacing, and then cut-and-pasted it into the profile, would that work?

| A little help please.... Posted: 7/22/2009 11:18:37 AM | regardless of what they 'go for' there is a woman out there who loves a hands on, rough around the edges kinda guy, who cleans up well.
What they dont like is insecurity and someone attempting to be something they are not. I think you'll find more often then not that people will like you for who you are.
That being said, you still need to sell yourself, so that others see you in the right light and not a 'dirty welding type' but rather a man's man with the dangerous, but artistic job of building construction and metal fabrication, an Artisan of the electrode.
I think a picture with you strapped to an I-beam, covered in welding gear, torch in hand with a big toothy smile would be a great addition to those pics.
An entrepreneur as well, a little bit on that would be interesting.
Time to put some real effort into this, right now if you were a product on the shelf, i would not buy.
