This has probably been brought up. Sorry if it's redundant.
I find a need to edit a post:
1) I click "edit post" and make my revisions.
2) Click on "update post."
3) Find that my post wasn't updated
4) I click to edit the post again
5) I find that the post is correct and click "update" without making any changes to my original revision.
6)Then finally my post is to my likings.

I used to be able to go through the first two steps. I'm wondering why the extra steps are needed nowadays. Sometimes through this arduous process my quoted text ends up being unquoted and then I have to do the steps all over again to get it right. That's annoying. I'm not too anal, but I like my posts to look right within my grammatical abilities.

P.S. I love the site and really enjoy the forums.

In case you aren't aware, there is a five second delay in the edit feature now. Other than that, do a thread search, using the keywords "editing posts", and that should give you all the info you need.

I did search using "editing posts" and there is nothing of this nature to be found. I'm asking, "Why do I have to basically edit twice?" The first time always worked in the past.

I didn't know about a five second rule, other than dropping food on the floor. If it's merely a delay, then why are my revisions not updating themselves? Five seconds is a very short amount of time for me when I'm rereading my posts.

The five second delay is only after you click post/update post, not in making changes to your post.
